    Enriching Information Technology Course Materials by Using Youtube

    IT offers some benefits and collaborations in various sectors. This research focuses on exploring higher education subjects via social technology, YouTube. YouTube is the world largest video based contents application in the world. Current learning materials are not only in text and images, but included video contents. This research enriching students learning materials may involving YouTube as learning sources. The study observed 118 sophomore students in computer science faculty. The results show that, involving YouTube in enriching students course material able to create conductive learning environment.     European Court of Human Rights: Cengiz and others v. Turkey

    On 1 December 2015, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) delivered a judgment dealing with a blocking order in Turkey of the popular video-sharing website YouTube. The Court found that the blocking of access to YouTube amounted to a violation of the right to receive and impart information under Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR). The Court observed that YouTube, as an Internet platform, enabled information on political and social matters to be broadcast and citizen journalism to emerge. The Court found that there was no provision in the Turkish law allowing domestic courts to impose the blanket blocking order of YouTube at issue

    The purpose of this study was to analyze the response of netizens is related video “Doauntuk Orang Tua” on youtube channel Kastari Animation Official.The method used in this research is qualitative method with virtual ethnography approach to analyze the existence video “Doauntuk Orang Tua” on youtube channel Kastari Animation Official. The main objects of this research is the video “Doa untuk Orang Tua” on youtube channel KastariAnimation Official. The technique of collecting data through participant observation and study of literature. These results indicate that the response of netizens related the video “Doauntuk Orang Tua” on youtube channel Kastari Animation Official are: 1) many netizens who gave positive remarks concerning the video, 2) there are netizens who give negative comments concerning the video, and 3) there are netizens who express some request related to the uploaded video.     The latent potential of YouTube - Will it become the 21st Century lecturer's film archive?

    YouTube (http://www.youtube.com) is an online, public-access video-sharing site that allows users to post short streaming-video submissions for open viewing. Along with Google, MySpace, Facebook, etc. it is one of the great success stories of the Internet, and is widely used by many of today's undergraduate students. The higher education sector has recently realised the potential of YouTube for presenting teaching resources/material to students, and publicising research. This article considers another potential use for online video archiving websites such as YouTube and GoogleVideo in higher education - as an online video archive providing thousands of hours of video footage for use in lectures.     Technology-enabled Learning (TEL): YouTube as a Ubiquitous Learning Aid.

    The use of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in the society has become ubiquitous. The advent of communication technologies alongside other unification trends and notions such as media convergence and digital content allow the users of the social network to integrate these networks in their everyday life. There have been several attempts in the literature to investigate and explain the use of social networks such as Facebook and WhatsApp by university students in the Arab region. However, little research has been done on how university students utilise online audiovisual materials in their academic activities in the UAE. This research aims to elucidate the use of YouTube as a learning aid for university students in the UAE. We adopt the technology acceptance model (TAM) as the theoretical framework for this investigation. A quantitative methodology is employed to answer the research question. Primary data consisting of 221 correspondents were analysed, covering patterns of using YouTube as an academic audiovisual learning aid. Statistical techniques including descriptive, correlations, regression tests were used to analyse the data. The study concluded that students use YouTube as a learning tool for their academic studies and enriching their general knowledge; and there is a positive relationship between the use of YouTube videos in academic settings and the students’ overall performance. This study can shed light for teachers, curriculum designers, government entities, and other stakeholders on how to best utilise and integrate the online technology — YouTube — as a learning aid

    A comparison of patient testimonials on YouTube of the most common orthodontic treatment modalities: braces, in-office aligners, and direct-to-consumer aligners

    Introduction: The objectives of this research was to investigate and compare the educational value of the most popular YouTube orthodontic patient testimonials between braces (B), in- office aligners (IOA), and direct-to-consumer aligners (DTCA), and to classify the emotional response of the viewers through a sentiment analysis of the video comments. Methods: Three different phrases relevant to B, IOA, and DTCA were searched on YouTube. The 20 most popular patient testimonial videos that met the criteria for each group were selected, for a total of 60 videos. Using the YouTube API for each video, 13 video metrics were extracted, an information completeness score (ICS) was assigned, and an analysis of the video comments was performed using sentiment analysis software. Results: The 60 videos included in this study were viewed 34,384,786 times by internet users. Braces videos have significantly more likes, comments, and a higher viewer interaction score than the IOA and DTCA videos. IOA videos had a higher median ICS than B and DTCA videos. Of the 5149 video comments with polarity, 53.6% were positive and 46.4% were negative (P Conclusions: There is high user engagement on YouTube with orthodontic patient testimonials. YouTube users interact with braces patient testimonials the most. YouTube viewers’ comments on orthodontic patient testimonials express more positive sentiment than negative sentiment. There is no significant difference in positive and negative sentiment between the video comments for the three different treatment modalities
