Computations on Simple Games using RelView
Simple games are a powerful tool to analyze decision-making and coalition formation in social and political life. In this paper we present relational models of simple games and develop relational algorithms for solving some game-theoretic basic problems. The algorithms immediately can be transformed into the language of the Computer Algebra system RelView and, therefore, the system can be used to solve the problems and to visualize the results of the computations.relational algebra ; RelView ; simple games

Produksi dan Karakterisasi Enzim Pektinase oleh Bakteri Pektinolitik dalam Klarifikasi Jus Jeruk Manis (Citrus cinensis)
Senyawa pektin dapat menyebabkan jus jeruk tampak keruh dan berkabut. Klarifikasi dengan enzim pektinase dapat dilakukan untuk menghilangkan kekeruhan tersebut. Enzim pektinase diisolasi dari bakteri pektinolitik yang diperoleh dari limbah kulit jeruk. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengisolasi dan mengkarakterisasi bakteri pektinolitik dari limbah kulit jeruk, menentukan karakter enzim pektinase (pH optimum, suhu optimum, KM dan Vmaks) dan mengetahui pengaruh enzim pektinase dalam klarifikasi jus jeruk manis. Hasil pewarnaan Gram dan pewarnaan endospora menunjukkan bahwa semua isolat bakteri yang didapatkan termasuk bakteri Gram negative dan tidak menghasilkan spora. Dari sepuluh isolat bakteri dipilih tiga isolat yang menghasilkan enzim yang terbaik dalam proses klarifikasi jus jeruk manis yaitu isolat 2, 3 dan 9. Isolat dipilih berdasarkan pada nilai viskositas yang rendah, nilai total padatan terlarut yang tinggi dan nilai transmitansi yang tinggi. Karakter enzim ditentukan berdasarkan pH optimum, suhu optimum, kestabilan pH dan suhu, nilai KM dan Vmaks. Isolat 2, 3 dan 9 optimum pada pH 4,0, Isolat 2 optimum pada suhu 450C, Isolat 3 dan 9 optimum pada suhu 500C. Isolat 2, 3 dan 9 stabil pada kisaran pH 3,0-4,0 dan suhu 30-500C. Nilai KM isolat 2, 3 dan 9 berturut-turut yaitu 0,0246; 0,0199; 0,0170 mg/ml, sedangkan nilai Vmaks berturut-turut yaitu 0,0402; 0,0393; 0,0386 U/ml

German-Polish scientific cooperations in divided Germany – Janusz Korczak associations in East and West Germany since the 1970s
The Polish-Jewish paediatrician, pedagogue and writer Janusz Korczak (1878/79–1942) has not been honoured in Germany until many years after his death in Treblinka in 1942. The German division led to the development of two separate German academic associations since the end of the 1970s, which aimed – under different political circumstances – to popularise and disseminate the memory of Korczak and his works. Both associations estab- lished personal and academic contacts and cooperations with the Polish Korczak Committee, whose history can be traced back to 1946, when contemporary witnesses of Korczak founded the Committee to honour Korczak’s memory.
This paper aims to reconstruct the early scientific cooperations of both German Korczak associations with Polish scientists and the Polish Korczak Committee.
While in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) major research stimuli emanated at the faculties of education at Gießen and Wuppertal, in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) a first publicly perceived research focus crystallised at the only existing, state-controlled publishing house for schoolbooks (Volk und Wissen – Volkseigener Verlag) in East- Berlin. In the early 1980s, the work of the young associations was focused on biographical and bibliographical studies. Here it becomes obvious, that Korczak studies in East and West were substantially inspired and advanced by the then still living contemporary eyewitnesses of Korczak and their personal contacts to individual members of the existing Korczak associations. The history of the international Korczak bibliography is a characteristic example, that shows, how closely contemporary witnessing is linked to scientific research on Korczak
„Szegény a koldus, ha király is a neve” : Koldulás és bírói gyakorlata a Kbtk. tükrében = ‘The beggar is poor even if he is king’ : Begging and Its Judicial Practice in the Criminal Code on Transgressions (1879)
A koldulás problematikája Európa-szerte szorosan kötődött a szegénység, a szegénygondozás kérdéseihez, a „szegény” fogalom felölelte a koldusokat, a vándorlókat, a beteg, család nélkül élő felnőtteket, valamint az árvákat és a családból kiesett, magukra maradt gyermekeket is. A rendi korszak felfogásában a koldusok, csavargók, munkakerülők elsősorban a társadalomra veszélyes emberek, akikkel kapcsolatban számos jogszabály született. Ezek a jogszabályok elsősorban rendészeti, igazgatási vonatkozásban foglalkoztak a koldulással (és ezzel párhuzamosan a csavargással), valamint annak akár büntetőjogi következményeivel is. Kialakult a koldusok osztályozásának rendszere is. E szerint voltak javíthatatlan, munkaképtelen, valamint eseti koldusok. Magyarországon a 19. század második felétől a szegénypolitika alapvető jellemzője volt, hogy az állam döntően a magánjótékonyságra, illetve a községekre hárította a szegénység, ezzel együtt a koldulás kezelését. A koldulás társadalomra veszélyesebb eseteit az 1879. évi XL. tc., a magyar büntető törvénykönyv a kihágásokról rendelte büntetni

Selenium supplementation of lactating dairy cows: effects on milk production and total selenium content and speciation in blood, milk and cheese
Forty-multiparous Holstein cows were used in a 16-wk continuous design study to determine the effects of either selenium (Se) source, selenized yeast (SY) (derived from a specific strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-3060 Sel-Plex®) or sodium selenite (SS), or inclusion rate of SY on Se concentration and speciation in blood, milk and cheese. Cows received ad libitum a TMR with 1:1 forage:concentrate ratio on a dry matter (DM) basis. There were four diets (T1-T4) which differed only in either source or dose of Se additive. Estimated total dietary Se for T1 (no supplement), T2 (SS), T3 (SY) and T4 (SY) was 0.16, 0.30, 0.30 and 0.45 mg/kg DM, respectively. Blood and milk samples were taken at 28 day intervals and at each time point there were positive linear effects of SY on Se concentration in blood and milk. At day 112 blood and milk Se values for T1-T4 were 177, 208, 248, 279 ± 6.6 and 24, 38, 57, 72 ± 3.7 ng/g fresh material, respectively and indicate improved uptake and incorporation of Se from SY. While selenocysteine (SeCys) was the main selenised amino acid in blood its concentration was not markedly affected by treatment, but the proportion of total Se as selenomethionine (SeMet) increased with increasing inclusion rate of SY. In milk, there were no marked treatment effects on SeCys content, but Se source had a marked effect on the proportion of total Se as SeMet. At day 112 replacing SS (T2) with SY (T3) increased the SeMet concentration of milk from 36 to 111 ng Se/g and its concentration increased further to 157 ng Se/g as the inclusion rate of SY increased further (T4) to provide 0.45 mg Se/kg TMR. Neither Se source nor inclusion rate effected the keeping quality of milk. At day 112, milk from T1, T2, and T3 was made into a hard cheese and Se source had a marked effect on total Se and the proportion of total Se comprised as either SeMet or SeCys. Replacing SS (T2) with SY (T3) increased total Se, SeMet and SeCys content from 180 to 340 ng Se/g, 57 to 153 ng Se/g and 52 to 92 ng Se/g, respectively.
