    Modul Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran AutoCAD (MPP) merupakan satu media pengajaran yang mengandungi asas-asas mengenai komputer, perisian AutoCAD 2000 dan langkah-langkah berperingkat membuat lukisan teknikal menggunakan AutoCAD 2000. Kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk menilai sejauh mana MPP ini boleh digunakan dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam aspek kesesuaian isi kandungan, sifat mesra pengguna dan kebolehlaksanaannya. Respondan untuk kajian ini ialah seramai 42 orang pelajar Diploma Kejuruteraan Elektrik Politeknik Kota Bharu. Untuk kajian ini instrumen yang digunakan ialah borang soal selidik di mana penilaian dilakukan berdasarkan persepsi responden terhadap MPP. Data-data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan SPSS VI1.0 yang melibatkan skor min. Hasil kajian melaporkan dapatan yang diperolehi berkenaan penerimaan terhadap MPP. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan penerimaan yang positif terhadap MPP oleh pelajar dan ianya mempimyai kebolehlaksanaan yang tinggi (skor min = 3.96) untuk diaplikasikan dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Walaubagaimanapun pengkaji percaya MPP ini mempunyai ruang untuk penambahbaikan seperti saranan oleh penilai yang mengesahkan MPP ini agar ia lebih menarik dan sesuai digunakan pada masa depan

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) kelayakan media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad; (2) respon terhadap media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad; (3) hasil belajar setelah menerapkan media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi literatur. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara mengumpulkan beberapa penelitian terdahulu untuk menjawab kelayakan media, respon, dan hasil belajar setelah menerapkan media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad. Penelitian terdahulu yang sudah terkumpul selanjutnya dikompilasi, dianalisis,dan disimpulkan sehingga mendapatkan kesimpulan mengenai pengembangan media pembelajaran dengan software  AutoCad. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini dapat diambil bahwa dari hasil analisis diatas (1) media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad dikatakan layak karena memenuhi aspek-aspek kevalidan media dengan software AutoCad yaitu tujuan relevan dengan deskripsi kompetensi dasar, kebenaran simulasi konsep, komunikatif, jelas, menarik, mudah dipahami, desain warna selaras, dan kemudahan navigasi media dengan persentase rata-rata penilaian validasi ≥ 61%-100% dengan kualitatif baik hingga sangat baik, (2) respon terhadap media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad dikatakan baik karena responden menunjukkan ketertarikan terhadap media pada aspek kejelasan gambar, warna, kelengkapan materi, dan navigasi media dengan persentase rata-rata penilaian hasil respon ≥ 61%-100% dengan kualitatif baik hingga sangat baik, serta (3) media pembelajaran dengan software AutoCad yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar adalah media pembelajaran dengan software  AutoCad yang telah memenuhi aspek kelayakan media serta hasil uji penerapan media menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar setelah menerapkan media pembelajaran dengan software  AutoCad.     Emerging cad and bim trends in the aec education: An analysis from students\u27 perspective

    As the construction industry is moving towards collaborative design and construction practices globally, training the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) students professionally related to CAD and BIM became a necessity rather than an option. The advancement in the industry has led to collaborative modelling environments, such as building information modelling (BIM), as an alternative to computer-aided design (CAD) drafting. Educators have shown interest in integrating BIM into the AEC curriculum, where teaching CAD and BIM simultaneously became a challenge due to the differences of two systems. One of the major challenges was to find the appropriate teaching techniques, as educators were unaware of the AEC students’ learning path in CAD and BIM. In order to make sure students learn and benefit from both CAD and BIM, the learning path should be revealed from students’ perspective. This paper summarizes the background and differences of CAD and BIM education, and how the transition from CAD to BIM can be achieved for collaborative working practices. The analysis was performed on freshman and junior level courses to learn the perception of students about CAD and BIM education. A dual-track survey was used to collect responses from AEC students in four consecutive years. The results showed that students prefer BIM to CAD in terms of the friendliness of the user-interface, help functions, and self-detection of mistakes. The survey also revealed that most of the students believed in the need for a BIM specialty course with Construction Management (CM), Structure, and Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing (MEP) areas. The benefits and challenges of both CAD and BIM-based software from students’ perspectives helps to improve the learning outcomes of CAD/BIM courses to better help students in their learning process, and works as a guideline for educators on how to design and teach CAD/BIM courses simultaneously by considering the learning process and perspectives of students. © 2018 The autho

    Exploring the Interplay between CAD and FreeFem++ as an Energy Decision-Making Tool for Architectural Design

    The energy modelling software tools commonly used for architectural purposes do not allow a straightforward real-time implementation within the architectural design programs. In addition, the surrounding exterior spaces of the building, including the inner courtyards, hardly present a specific treatment distinguishing these spaces from the general external temperature in the thermal simulations. This is a clear disadvantage when it comes to streamlining the design process in relation to the whole-building energy optimization. In this context, the present study aims to demonstrate the advantages of the FreeFem++ open source program for performing simulations in architectural environments. These simulations include microclimate tests that describe the interactions between a building architecture and its local exterior. The great potential of this mathematical tool can be realized through its complete system integration within CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SketchUp or AutoCAD. In order to establish the suitability of FreeFem++ for the performance of simulations, the most widely employed energy simulation tools able to consider a proposed architectural geometry in a specific environment are compared. On the basis of this analysis, it can be concluded that FreeFem++ is the only program displaying the best features for the thermal performance simulation of these specific outdoor spaces, excluding the currently unavailable easy interaction with architectural drawing programs. The main contribution of this research is, in fact, the enhancement of FreeFem++ usability by proposing a simple intuitive method for the creation of building geometries and their respective meshing (pre-processing). FreeFem++ is also considered a tool for data analysis (post-processing) able to help engineers and architects with building energy-efficiency-related tasks

    Network support for integrated design

    A framework of network support for utilization of integrated design over the Internet has been developed. The techniques presented also applicable for Intranet/Extranet. The integrated design system was initially developed for local application in a single site. With the network support, geographically dispersed designers can collaborate a design task through out the total design process, quickly respond to clients’ requests and enhance the design argilty.     STUDI TERHADAP MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN SOFTWARE AUTOCAD DALAM MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK

    Pada umumnya peserta didik sulit memahami kontruksi bangunan, sehingga perlunya dilakukan studi terhadap media Software AutoCAD sebagai alat bantu pemahaman peserta didik. Kriteria tuntas dalam belajar saat ini belum mencapai hasil yang baik. Hal ini mengindikasi bahwa pemahaman terhadap konstruksi bangunan sangat rendah. Tujuan studi ini untuk mengetahui (1) kelayakan Software AutoCAD sebagai media pembelajaran (2) peserta didik mendapat hasil belajar yang baik setelah diterapkan dengan media Software AutoCAD. Penggunaan metodenya adalah metode studi literatur. Metode studi literatur dengan cara akumulasi data riset relevan, mengkaji, meringkas dan menarik kesimpulan sehingga mendapati kelayakan pada media pembelajaran dan hasil pembelajaran peserta didik setelah menerapkan Software AutoCad. Kesimpulan dalam studi ini dapat diambil bahwa (1) penggunaan Software AutoCad sebagai media pembelajaran dinilai layak karena memenuhi segi efektifitas media dengan Software AutoCad yakni tujuan terkait dengan pemaparan kompetensi dasar, simulasi kebenaran konsep, komunikatif, jelas, menarik, mudah dipahami dengan tingkat evaluasi ≥ 61% hingga 100% dengan kualitas baik hingga sangat baik, (2) Software AutoCAD sebagai alat bantu belajar yang lebih baik dalam peningkatkan hasil belajar. Hal tersebut dikarenakan telah memenuhi kelayakan media dan hasil uji coba media. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa setelah menerapkan media pembelajaran software AutoCAD hasil belajar peserta didik dapat meningkat. Kata kunci : AutoCAD, Hasil Belajar, Media Pembelajaran In general, students find it difficult to understand building construction, so it is necessary to study the Autocad Software media as a tool for students' understanding. The criteria for complete learning at this time have not achieved good results. This indicates that the understanding of building construction is very low. The purpose of this study is to determine (1) the feasibility of AutoCAD Software as a learning medium (2) students get good learning outcomes after being applied with AutoCAD Software media. The method used is the literature study method. The technique of this method is the accumulation of relevant research data, reviewing, summarizing and drawing conclusions so as to find the feasibility of learning media and student learning outcomes after applying AutoCad Software. The conclusions in this study can be drawn that (1) the use of AutoCad Software as a learning media is considered feasible because it meets the effectiveness of the media with AutoCad Software, namely the objectives related to the presentation of basic competencies, simulating the truth of concepts, communicative, clear, interesting, easy to understand with an evaluation level. 61% to 100% with good to very good quality, (2) AutoCAD software as a better learning tool in improving learning outcomes. This is because it has met the feasibility of the media and the results of media trials.
