Sufi poetry in Somali: Its themes and imagery

Abstract

This Phd thesis explores the world of Somali Sufi oral poetry, with the aim of contributing to a better understanding and documentation in this field. He provides the cultural setting and deepens the mixture of Islamic and traditional elements this particular kind of poetry includes, analyzing above all its themes and imagery.Buug qalinjebineedka PhD-du wuxuu falanqaynayaa maansada Suufiyada soomaaliyeed.
