La distinction entre preuve artificielle et non artificielle de la rhétorique à la sémiotique

Abstract

Ce texte prend le point de vue de l\u27histoire des idées pour revisiter la question des rapports entre la sémiotique et la rhétorique. Cherchant à faire le point sur la situation actuelle, nous visons à fournir plus d\u27éléments pour comparer les théories du signe et les théories du langage du point de vue de la longue histoire de ces thèmes. Nous parviendrons ainsi à des points communs qui nous permettront de nous joindre à un mouvement visant à regrouper les différents arts et sciences du texte autour du « texte » et du « discours », conçus d\u27une manière métaphoriquement élargie. Dans ce parcours, nous partons des divisions disciplinaires et de la portée de la rhétorique dans l\u27Antiquité, en passant par les compétences partagées de l\u27art du Trivium. Nous présentons les Lumières françaises comme l\u27un des moments cruciaux de cette histoire, au cours duquel la position selon laquelle il n\u27y a rien en dehors de l\u27art est élaborée, dans une position à la fois rhétorique et sémiotique. Nous proposons ainsi de concevoir une approche entre rhétorique et sémiotique plus forte et plus persistante historiquement qu\u27on ne le pense, et constitutive de l\u27idée de méthode.This text takes the point of view of the history of ideas to revisit the question of the relationship between semiotics and rhetoric. Seeking to take stock of the current scenario, the article aims to provide more elements for comparing theories of the sign and theories of language from the point of view of the long history of these themes. With this, one arrives at some common points that allow one to join a movement seeking to regroup the different arts and sciences of the text around “text” and “discourse”, conceived in a metaphorically expanded way. On this path, we start with the disciplinary divisions and the scope of rhetoric in antiquity, passing through the sharing of the competencies of the art of the Trivium. We present the French Enlightenment as one of the crucial moments in this history, in which the position that there is nothing outside of art is elaborated, in a stance that is both rhetorical and semiotic. We thus propose that it is possible to conceive a connection between rhetoric and semiotics that is stronger and more historically persistent than is commonly supposed, as well as being constitutive of the idea of method.Este texto toma o ponto de vista da história das ideias para revisitar a questão das relações entre semiótica e retórica. Buscando um balanço do cenário atual, visamos prover mais elementos para a comparação entre as teorias do signo e as teorias da linguagem sob o ponto de vista da longa história desses temas. Com isto, chegamos a alguns pontos comuns que permitem aderir a um movimento de busca pela reagregação das diferentes artes e ciências do texto em torno do “texto” e do “discurso”, concebidos de forma metaforicamente ampliada. Neste percurso, partimos das divisões disciplinares e do escopo próprio à retórica na antiguidade, passando pela partilha das competências da arte do Trivium. Apresentamos o iluminismo francês como um dos momentos cruciais desta história, no qual se elabora a posição de que não há nada fora da arte, em posição simultaneamente retórica e semiótica. Propomos, assim, que se conceba uma aproximação entre retórica e semiótica mais forte e mais historicamente persistente do que comumente suposto, além de constitutiva para a ideia de método
