INFLUENCE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON MEDICINE

Abstract

El presente articulo busca reflexionar sobre la influencia, beneficios y desafíos de la Inteligencia Artificial en el ámbito médico y como esta revolución tecnológica puede reconfigurar la relación entre los profesionales de la salud, los pacientes y las maquinas. Las IAS viene transformando abiertamente el campo de la medicina, mejorando significativamente tanto la precisión como en la eficiencia en los diagnósticos y tratamientos de enfermedades. Precisamente la amplitud que permite la IA, ofrece un despliegue de datos oportuno y preciso, especialmente en procedimientos oncológicos o en cardiología.    Uno de los avances mas significativos en la medicina, ha sido el uso de robots quirúrgicos, los cuales son utilizados como apoyo en procedimientos de alta complejidad, reduciendo así el margen de error en estos procedimientos, lo que a su vez afecta de manera positiva el tiempo de recuperación de los pacientes. Y no solo la parte procedimental física se ha visto favorecida por la Inteligencia Artificial, también el área de servicios ofrecidos a través de aplicaciones que aseguran llegar a casi la totalidad de usuarios de servicios médicos, al menos para quienes tengan acceso a internet a través de cualquier dispositivo móvil, un avance que beneficia a las comunidades ubicadas en zonas remotas. A pesar de que la Inteligencia Artificial promete seguir revolucionando la medicina y continuar mejorando la calidad de vida de los pacientes en los post procedimientos, es necesario e importante que exista una regulación de políticas éticas, que certifiquen la aplicación justa y equitativa en todos los niveles de la salud. This article seeks to reflect on the influence, benefits and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the medical field and how this technological revolution can reshape the relationship between healthcare professionals, patients and machines. IAS came transforming the field of medicine for at least a decade, significantly improving both accuracy and efficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Precisely the breadth that AI allows, offers a timely and accurate display of data, especially in oncological procedures or cardiology.   One of the most significant advances in medicine has been the use of surgical robots, which are used as support in highly complex procedures, thus reducing the margin of error in these procedures, which in turn positively affects the recovery time of patients. And not only the physical procedural part has been favored by Artificial Intelligence, also the area of services offered through applications that ensure reaching almost all users of medical services, at least for those who have access to internet through any mobile device, an advance that benefits communities located in remote areas. Although Artificial Intelligence promises to continue revolutionizing medicine and to continue improving the quality of life of patients in post-procedures, it is necessary and important that there is a regulation of ethical policies that certify the fair and equitable application at all levels of healthcare
