No toda anuria es un globo vesical

Abstract

Acute renal artery occlusion secondary to thromboembolism is a rare event, and its diagnosis is complex due to the nonspecificity of the symptoms. We present the case of an 83-year-old woman brought to the emergency room due to vomiting, no food intake, and oligoanuria for two days. Due to the clinical suspicion of a possible vascular origin, a CT angiography was performed, which revealed the aortic thrombus, which allowed successful endovascular therapies to be performed in the following hours. In this case, we highlight the importance of early diagnosis of this entity, since it is a disease with a time-dependent prognosis.
