NORMATIVE CRITICISM AND COMPLEXITY IN GENDER PERSPECTIVE: A READING FROM THE PERFORMATIVITY AND POLITICAL AGENCY OF THE BODY IN JUDITH BUTLER

Abstract

La gran inquietud intelectual de Judith Butler, expresada de diversas maneras a lo largo de su obra, está relacionada con los sujetos que quedan situados fuera de los márgenes de la norma mayoritaria. Por ello, trata de comprender cómo funcionan los marcos de reconocimiento que determinan la identidad del sujeto y la exclusión. Estos marcos sólo pueden comprenderse desde una mirada sistémica. En este contexto, el cuerpo, como realidad performativa y no estática, se convierte en el eje sobre el que Butler articula su propuesta. Su estudio nos permitirá esbozar las bases para una filosofía del cuerpo, vulnerable y precario, sufriente de la acción del poder y la exclusión y, al mismo tiempo, con capacidad de resistencia política, de tal modo que nos dote de una caja de herramientas filosófica que nos permita emprender la crítica de ámbitos normativos-excluyentes con un enfoque sistémico.The main intellectual concern of Judith Butler, expressed in different ways throughout her work, is related to the subjects that remain outside the margins of the majority norm. Therefore, she tries to understand how the recognition frameworks that determine the subject's identity and the exclusion work. These frameworks can only be understood from a systemic perspective. In this context, the body, as a performative and not a static reality, becomes the axis on which she articulates her proposal. This study will allow us to outline the bases for a philosophy of the body. The body will be considered as vulnerable and precarious, suffering from the action of power and exclusion. At the same time, we will assume that the body also has a capacity for political resistance. In this way, we will be provided with a philosophical toolbox that allows us to undertake the critique of other normative-exclusive areas with a systemic approach
