Artivism and Political Potential. The Collective "Fuerza Artística de Choque Comunicativo": Bodies, Memory and Urban Space

Abstract

El ensayo reflexiona sobre las posibilidades políticas del "artivismo" del colectivo Fuerza Artística de Choque Comunicativo. Para ello analiza las nociones de espacio abstracto (Lefevbre), de tiempo actual (Ricoeur) y tiempo denso (Benjamin). Propone el surgimiento de una memoria actual que juntaría, gracias a la acción teatral, el pasado reciente con el presente, para obtener una mirada alternativa sobre el momento actual. Para ello, este ensayo examina tres acciones del colectivo: "Esto no es independencia", "Acción Puente", "Promotoras" y "Genocida suelto". De este análisis se concluirá que las acciones de FACC tienen un potencial político propio que no es comparable con otras acciones "artivistas" y que se origina en sus características organizativas y teatrales. The essay reflects on the political possibilities of the "artivism" of the group called Fuerza Artística de Choque Comunicativo (Artistic Force of Communicative Shock). In order to achieve this, it analyzes the notions of "abstract space" (H.Lefevbre), of "current time" (Ricoeur) and "dense time" (Benjamin) and proposes the emergence of a present memory that would bring together, thanks to the theatrical action, the recent past and the present to get an alternative perspective of the current times. This essay examines three actions of the group: "Esto no es independencia", "Acción Puente", "Promotoras" and "Genocida suelto". From this analysis, it will be concluded that the actions of the group have their own political potential that is not comparable with other artivist actions because of its strenght that comes from its organizational and theatrical characteristics.&nbsp
