The synthesis of group VI complexes of the type (η5-Dbf)M(CO)2(η3-allyl) (Dbf = dibenzo[c,g]fluorenide; M = Mo, W) is reported, which are the first examples of molybdenum and tungsten allyl complexes bearing a benzannealed fluorenide ligand. The molybdenum complex could be characterized by means of X-ray crystallography
