Fundamental Analysis of Apple Stock

My bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis of the value of Apple Inc.’s stock using fundamental analysis tools. Its objective is to determine the stock's intrinsic value and compare it to its current market price from a long-term investor’s perspective. In the theoretical part, I introduce the main approaches to stock valuation, including discounted cash flow models and financial ratios, and explain the relevance of fundamental factors in this analysis. In the practical part, in addition to macroeconomic, industry, and company analysis, I perform an ESG analysis that contributes to the overall evaluation of Apple’s investment potential.Moja bakalárska práca sa zameriava na analýzu hodnoty akcie spoločnosti Apple Inc. pomocou nástrojov fundamentálnej analýzy. Cieľom je stanoviť vnútornú hodnotu akcie a porovnať ju s aktuálnou trhovou cenou z pohľadu dlhodobého investora. V teoretickej časti predstavím základné prístupy k oceňovaniu akcií, vrátane diskontovaných cash flow modelov a pomerových ukazovateľov, ako aj význam fundamentálnych faktorov v tejto analýze. V praktickej časti okrem makroekonomickej, odvetvovej a firemnej analýzy vykonám aj ESG analýzu, ktorá doplní celkové hodnotenie investičného potenciálu spoločnosti Apple.Moje bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu hodnoty akcie společnosti Apple Inc. pomocí nástrojů fundamentální analýzy. Cílem je stanovit vnitřní hodnotu akcie a porovnat ji s aktuální tržní cenou z pohledu dlouhodobého investora. V teoretické části představím základní přístupy k oceňování akcií, včetně diskontovaných cash flow modelů a poměrových ukazatelů, stejně jako význam fundamentálních faktorů v této analýze. Strategic Analysis of a Family Business

The primary objective of this thesis is to identify the main threats, opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses of the family business under study using strategic analysis tools. The secondary objective is to evaluate whether the enterprise exhibits characteristics typical of family businesses and how they affect it. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part starts by defining the concepts of family business and strategy and then introduces the different methods and tools used in developing strategic analysis. The practical part begins with a short description of the company under study, the White Unicorn Pharmacy, including its history, ownership structure and business activities. This is followed by an analysis of the external environment using the PESTLE method. The micro-environment is analysed through Porter's five forces, financial, and VRIO analysis. Specific family factors affecting the operation of the business are also evaluated. Based on SWOT analysis, key threats, opportunities, strengths and weaknesses are identified, from which recommendations are formulated to optimise the functioning of the business. Finally, the limitations of this thesis that may have complicated the strategic analysis process or reduced its validity are noted.Primárním záměrem této práce je rozpoznat hlavní hrozby, příležitosti, silné a slabé stránky sledovaného rodinného podniku s využitím nástrojů strategické analýzy. Sekundárním cílem je vyhodnotit, do jaké míry podnik vykazuje charakteristiky typické pro rodinné firmy a jakým způsobem ho ovlivňují. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Na začátku teoretické části jsou definovány pojmy rodinného podnikání a strategie, následně jsou představeny jednotlivé metody a nástroje, které jsou použity při tvorbě strategické analýzy. Praktická část začíná krátkým popisem sledované společnosti, lékárny U Bílého jednorožce, včetně její historie, vlastnické struktury a podnikatelské činnosti. Následuje analýza vnějšího prostředí pomocí metody PESTLE. Mikroprostředí je analyzováno prostřednictvím Porterovy analýzy pěti sil, finanční analýzy a VRIO analýzy. Dále jsou hodnoceny specifické rodinné faktory ovlivňující chod podniku. Na základě SWOT analýzy jsou identifikovány klíčové hrozby, příležitosti, silné a slabé stránky, ze kterých jsou následně formulována doporučení pro optimalizaci fungování podniku. Na závěr jsou uvedena omezení této práce, která mohla komplikovat proces strategické analýzy či snižovat její validitu

Makroekonomická expanze Čínské lidové republiky na africký kontinent

This thesis examines the macroeconomic expansion of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) onto the African continent, with a special focus on the potential political leverage the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) can exert on its investment recipients. The research aims to evaluate whether the extensive Chinese investment and lending activity in Africa serves merely economic goals or if it also chases political objectives of expanding political influence, thereby challenging the standing global order. While the theoretical framework tries to explain potential Chinese motivations for this behavior and describe the execution of economic statecraft employed by the CCP, the quantitative analysis tests the real political alignment of the African continent with the PRC on the grounds of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), employing regression testing of loans and foreign direct investments (FDI) with the UNGA voting patterns.Tato práce zkoumá makroekonomickou expanzi Čínské lidové republiky (ČLR) na africký kontinent se zvláštním zaměřením na potenciální politický vliv, který může Čínská komunistická strana (ČKS) uplatnit na příjemce svých investic. Cílem výzkumu je zhodnotit, zda rozsáhlá čínská investiční a úvěrová aktivita v Africe slouží pouze ekonomickým cílům, nebo zda sleduje také politické cíle rozšiřování politického vlivu, a tím zpochybňuje stávající globální řád. Analysis of fixed assets of a selected business corporation

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of fixed assets in accounting. The theoretical part discusses the categories of fixed assets, methods of their acquisition, valuation, depreciation, disposal, technical appreciation, including deferred tax. Practical part introduces the company EVONA a. s., its organizational structure and fixed assets which it owns. It continues with the calculation, analysis of the development and evaluation of financial indicators analysis. The following is the calculation of the depreciation of the technical improvement of a building in the connection with the installation of the supporting structure for the solar panels of the photovoltaic power plant. The solar panels are treated separately, taking into account the Income Tax Act, which egulates their depreciation. The next section compares various methods of depreciation, specifically straight-line and units-of-activity accounting methods, and accelerated and straight-line tax methods. The conclusion of the whole thesis contains a summary of the theoretical knowledge, but also the results of the analysis and the appropriate recommendations in the area of depreciation policy and financing.Bakalářská práce se věnuje problematice dlouhodobého majetku v účetnictví. V teoretické části jsou rozebrány kategorie dlouhodobého majetku, způsoby jeho pořízení, ocenění, odpisování, vyřazení, technické zhodnocení, včetně odložené daně. Praktická část představuje společnost EVONA a. s., její organizační strukturu a stálá aktiva, která vlastní. Pokračuje se výpočtem, analýzou vývoje a vyhodnocením ukazatelů finanční analýzy. Následuje výpočet odpisů technického zhodnocení budovy v souvislosti s instalací nosné konstrukce pro solární panely fotovoltaické elektrárny. Solární panely jsou řešeny samostatně, a to s ohledem na ZDP, který upravuje jejich odpisování. V další části je provedena komparace různých metod odpisování, a to konkrétně účetních rovnoměrných a výkonových, a daňových zrychlených a rovnoměrných. Závěr celé práce obsahuje shrnutí teoretických poznatků, ale také výsledky provedené analýzy a na to navazují vhodná doporučení v oblasti odpisové politiky a financování

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the current cost calculation procedures of a specific company based on a cost analysis and to propose possibilities for their optimization. The theoretical part defines the concepts of costs, their classification, and calculation procedures. It also describes calculation formulas, methods and principles of cost allocation, and the various options for preparing cost calculations. The practical part focuses on the cost analysis of the selected company, based on which a new calculation formula is proposed. This formula is intended to serve as a tool for more efficient cost management within the company.Cílem této práce je na základě analýzy nákladů zhodnotit současné postupy konkrétního podniku při sestavování kalkulací nákladů a navrhnout možnosti jejich optimalizace. Teoretická část se věnuje vymezení pojmů náklady, jejich členění a kalkulační postupy. Dále jsou popsány kalkulační vzorce, metody a principy alokace nákladů a možnosti sestavení kalkulace. Praktická část se zaměřuje na analýzu nákladů vybrané společnosti, na jejímž základě je navržen nový kalkulační vzorec, který má podniku sloužit jako nástroj pro efektivnější řízení nákladovosti

Illegal Activities in the Banking Sector

This bachelor thesis addresses the issue of illegal activities in the banking sector, with a focus on their manifestations, progression, and impact on financial institutions as well as the broader economic environment. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the legal framework, institutional setting, and effectiveness of measures aimed at the prevention and prosecution of these activities in the Czech Republic and Austria. The theoretical part deals with the definition and characteristics of selected forms of financial crime. The practical part focuses on a comparative analysis of the Czech Republic and Austria through selected issues in the areas of money laundering and insider trading. The data obtained from specific cases and publicly available sources are analyzed and subsequently used for the comparison of the two countries.Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou nelegálních činností v bankovní sféře, s důrazem na jejich projevy, průběh a dopady na finanční instituce i širší ekonomické prostředí. Cílem práce je analyzovat právní rámec, institucionální nastavení a efektivitu opatření zaměřených na prevenci a postih těchto činností v České republice a Rakousku. Teoretická část se věnuje definici a charakteristice vybraných forem finanční kriminality. Praktická část se soustředí na komparativní analýzu České republiky a Rakouska prostřednictvím vybraných problémů v oblasti praní špinavých peněz a insider tradingu. Financing of sport in the Czech Republic between 2017-2022 with a focus on football clubs

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou financování profesionálního fotbalu v České republice v období let 2017–2022. Cílem práce bylo zmapovat hlavní zdroje veřejných a soukromých příjmů fotbalových klubů, identifikovat klíčové aktéry financování a navrhnout možnosti optimalizace systému na základě srovnání s vybranými zahraničními modely. V práci byly použity kvantitativní i kvalitativní výzkumné metody. Na základě údajů ze sekundárních zdrojů a oficiálních zpráv byla vypracována horizontální analýza výnosů a nákladů čtyř vybraných klubů. inspirativními příklady ze zahraničí (Nizozemí, Německo, Skandinávie, Francie). Výsledky ukázaly výraznou závislost klubů na výkonnostních příjmech (zejména z UEFA), veřejných dotacích a sponzoringu. Práce doporučuje systémová opatření, jako jsou víceleté financování mládeže, sportovní vouchery, daňová zvýhodnění pro soukromé partnery a zavedení mechanismů solidarity mezi kluby. Závěrem práce poukazuje na význam fotbalu nejen jako sportovní, ale i ekonomické a společenské složky, která vyžaduje strategické a dlouhodobě udržitelné financování.This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the financing of professional football in the Czech Republic in the period 2017-2022. The aim of the thesis was to map the main sources of public and private revenues of football clubs, identify the key actors of financing and propose ways to optimize the system based on a comparison with selected foreign models. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used in the thesis. Based on data from secondary sources and official reports, a horizontal analysis of revenues and costs of four selected clubs was developed. Inspiring examples from abroad (Netherlands, Germany, Scandinavia, France). The results showed a significant dependence of the clubs on performance revenues (mainly from UEFA), public subsidies and sponsorship. The paper recommends systemic measures such as multi-year youth funding, sports vouchers, tax advantages for private partners and the introduction of solidarity mechanisms between clubs. Finally, the thesis highlights the importance of football not only as a sport but also as an economic and social component that requires strategic and sustainable funding

Analysis of the potential and competitiveness of Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague based on data from 2013-2023

The thesis deals with the potential and competitiveness of Václav Havel Airport (hereinafter VH Airport). It was determined that due to its location, it is clear that VH Airport is not fully utilizing its potential and is lagging behind its competitors. The analyses carried out, which are intended to determine the main cause of VH Airport's low competitiveness, deal with VH Airport fees and customers. Three hypotheses are set, the first two of which were refuted, the third of which was confirmed and on its basis a possible strategy was recommended that the VH Airport management could apply. The thesis concludes that VH Airport should focus on airlines operating primarily in the mainline segment of air transport. Either a partnership should be established with a European or non-European airline and it should be allowed to create a hub, which would increase the number of passengers carried. The most effective, but also the most complicated option would be to establish a partnership with a non-European company that would create a base directly at VH Airport and thus be able to more easily penetrate the European market. All three options would increase the competitiveness, prestige of VH Airport and the use of its potential. However, VH Airport faces limited terminal capacity.Práce se zabývá potenciálem a konkurenceschopností Letiště Václava Havla (dále Letiště VH). Bylo stanoveno, že vzhledem k poloze je zřejmé, že Letiště VH nevyužívá plně svůj potenciál a zaostává za svými konkurenty. Provedené analýzy, které mají za úkol zjistit hlavní příčinu nízké konkurenceschopnosti Letiště VH, se zabývají poplatky a zákazníky Letiště VH. Jsou stanovené tři hypotézy, z nichž první dvě byly vyvráceny, třetí z nich byla potvrzena a na jejím základě byla doporučena možná strategie, kterou by vedení Letiště VH mohlo aplikovat. Práce dochází k závěru, že by se Letiště VH mělo zaměřit na letecké společnosti provozující především mainline segment letecké dopravy. Mělo by dojít buď k navázání partnerství s evropskou, či mimoevropskou leteckou společností a umožnit jí vytvoření uzlu, díky čemuž by došlo k navýšení počtu přepravených cestujících. Nejúčinnější, ale zároveň nejkomplikovanější variantou by bylo navázání partnerství s mimoevropskou společností, která by si na Letišti VH vytvořila přímo základnu a tím by mohla snáze proniknout na evropský trh. Ve všech třech variantách by došlo ke zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti, prestiže Letiště VH a využití potenciálu. Zároveň však Letiště VH naráží na omezenou kapacitu terminálů

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the financial analysis of the company JIZERSKÉ PEKÁRNY spol. s r.o. during the period 2019–2023. The aim of the thesis is to assess the financial health of the company, its performance, and competitiveness. The analysis applies traditional financial analysis methods, including absolute, differential, and ratio indicators, as well as comprehensive performance evaluation indices. The results of the financial analysis are subsequently compared with competing companies within the same industry.Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na finanční analýzu společnosti JIZERSKÉ PEKÁRNY spol. s r.o. v letech 2019-2023. Cílem práce je vyhodnocení finančního zdraví podniku, jeho výkonnosti a konkurenceschopnosti. V rámci práce jsou aplikovány metody klasické finanční analýzy, tedy analýza absolutních, rozdílových a poměrových ukazatelů, a dále analýza souhrnných indexů hodnocení výkonnosti. This master’s thesis focuses on the application of the Due Diligence process to a sports organization, specifically FC Zbrojovka Brno, a.s., in the context of a potential merger or acquisition. The main objective is to identify key risks and opportunities associated with investing in a professional football club and to provide a comprehensive assessment of its financial, legal, sporting, and commercial condition. The thesis draws upon the theoretical framework of Due Diligence in M&A transactions and adapts it to the specifics of the sports sector, including brand value, team performance, revenue structure, and relationships with fans and sponsors. Methodologically, the work combines financial statement analysis, legal and contractual review, business model evaluation, and strategic analysis. The outcome is a thorough evaluation of the club’s investment profile, along with recommendations for a potential investor. The thesis contributes theoretically by adapting Due Diligence tools to a specific type of target company and practically by offering actionable insights for investment decisions in the sports industry.Tato diplomová práce se zabývá aplikací procesu Due Diligence na sportovní subjekt, konkrétně na společnost FC Zbrojovka Brno, a.s., v kontextu potenciální fúze či akvizice.
