Marketing colaborativo e a voz do cliente na concepção e desenvolvimento de novos produtos ou serviços

    No full text
Abstract Currently, the phenomenon of globalization implies the existence of a social environment surrounded by various technologies that affect individuals' daily lives and lifestyles. Modern technologies, particularly information technologies, have influenced how organizations interact with their consumers, leading to changes in consumer decision-making due to the vast amount of information available at all stages of acquiring a product or service. In this sense, collaborative marketing has emerged as a way to leverage these two factors and enhance the process of creating and developing new products or services within organizations. This type of innovation occurs when stakeholders who are not part of the organization, such as customers, suppliers, and collaborators, associate with the company or product/service to add value through innovation and differentiation compared to competing companies, by means of their performance and marketing management approach. This context fosters benefits from the contributions of the various stakeholders involved in the business—company, supply chain, and market in which it operates—whether through access to customized products/services or the promotion of their ideas. The main objective of this work is to analyze how collaborative marketing and the voice of the customer can be integrated into the development of new products through a conceptual model. This model links the collaboration of external stakeholders (such as customers and suppliers) with the company, enabling the continuous collection of feedback. The model was applied to a case study at Nestlé, in the food sector, focusing on the development of Nescafé Galão. The application proved to be a valuable asset, facilitating quick iterations with consumers, resulting in products better tailored to their preferences. The main conclusions show that integrating consumers into the innovation process increases the likelihood of market success and strengthens the company’s competitiveness

Signature cytokine-associated transcriptome analysis of effector γδ T cells identifies subset-specific regulators of peripheral activation

    No full text
γδ T cells producing either interleukin-17A (γδ17 cells) or interferon-γ (γδIFN cells) are generated in the mouse thymus, but the molecular regulators of their peripheral functions are not fully characterized. Here we established an Il17a-GFP:Ifng-YFP double-reporter mouse strain to analyze at unprecedented depth the transcriptomes of pure γδ17 cell versus γδIFN cell populations from peripheral lymph nodes. Within a very high fraction of differentially expressed genes, we identify a panel of 20 new signature genes in steady-state γδ17 cells versus γδIFN cells, which we further validate in models of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and cerebral malaria, respectively. Among the signature genes, we show that the co-receptor CD6 and the signaling protein Themis promote the activation and proliferation of peripheral γδIFN cells in response to T cell antigen receptor stimulation in vitro and to Plasmodium infection in vivo. This resource can help to understand the distinct activities of effector γδ T cell subsets in pathophysiology. The project leading to these results has received funding from the European Research Council under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement number 646701 to B.S.-S.), ‘la Caixa’ Foundation under project code LCF/PR/HR24/00929 (to B.S.-S.), Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, Portugal (PTDC/MED-IMU/32296/2017 to A.M.C.; SFRH/BD/145352/2019 to D.I.; Decree-law number 57/2016, as amended by the Law number 57/2017 to A.P.) and Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (to R.L.)

    No full text
He is the responsible for the most relevant creations in terms of Heraldry during the “Estado Novo” era, despite never having been particularly interested in the areas of family, municipal in Portuguese mainland or ecclesiastical heraldry. This production took place mainly in the third quarter of the 20th century in Portugal, within the scope of the visual structuring - the image, and even scenographic - the spectacle, of what was called the Corporate State. This heraldist had very significant activity in several areas of Heraldry, such as civil corporate heraldry, the heraldry of the Portuguese Armed Forces, the heraldry of overseas and national domains. A critique is also made of the work he produced, both in terms of heraldic science and in aesthetic terms, this already within the scope of Art History. Finally, his activity as an author is summarized, namely as a researcher and theorist in the Armaria area

Multilevel inverter based on a dual two-level nine-switch converter for a dual three-phase or six-phase motor drive system

    No full text
The nine-switch inverter is considered as a very interesting solution for three-phase dual output applications, such as dual three-phase or six-phase motor drive systems. The main advantage of this approach is a converter topology with a reduced number of power semiconductors. However, the AC output voltages are limited to only two levels. This work proposes a new inverter topology for dual three-phase or six-phase motor drive systems with multilevel output characteristics. The proposed topology is based on two isolated inverters, but the number of legs is reduced from six to three. This structure creates a modular multilevel inverter with a high number of voltage levels while using a comparatively smaller number of power semiconductors. A modulation strategy, associated with the proposed topology, is presented to ensure multilevel operation. The proposed topology and modulation strategy will be tested first through a simulation in Matlab/Simulink and then by laboratory tests using an experimental prototype. The obtained results show a good agreement between simulations and experiments, both confirming the theoretical studies

This project was partially supported by an IDI&CA grant [IPL/2020/OCLOVID-19_ESTeSL] by H&TRC- Health & Technology Research Center, ESTeSL- Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa. Background: Neurotropic capabilities of SARS-COVs allow viruses to reach the central nervous system by hematogenous neuronal dissemination. The human retina, as an extension of the Central Nervous System, may have some neurodegenerative and/or vascular modifications related to COVID-19. Objectives: To evaluate choroidal and inner neural layers in participants previously recovered from COVID-19 compared to the control group using optical coherence tomography. Methods: With a cross-sectional approach, the sample (n = 96), consisting of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 (n = 56) and healthy participants control group (n = 40) were ophthalmologically characterized. The neurodegenerative and vascular histological assessment was performed using SD-OCT and the mean thickness was measured in Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) subfields. The retinal nerve fiber layer, Ganglion cell layer, and subfoveal choroidal thickness were obtained through semi-automatic measurement. Results: A total of 40 controls (27 women [67.5%]) and 56 COVID-19 participants (34 women [60.8%]) were included in this first report. There were retinal thickness significant differences in nearly all inner ETDRS subfields: nasal 3 mm (p = .025), I3 (p = .049), and temporal 3 mm (p = .009). Also, a decrease in neural layers was found in the nasal 3 mm (p = .049) and temporal 3 mm (p = .029) during ganglion cell layer assessment. The peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer thickness was thinner in the COVID-19 group in superior temporal (p = .019), nasal (p = .002), inferior temporal (p = .046), and global (p = .014). Concerning the subfoveal choroidal measurement, an increase was observed in the COVID-19 group (p = .002). Conclusion: Participants who had recovered from COVID-19 showed a non-glaucomatous neuropathy trend pattern. We found differences closer to the classic description of the “bow-tie” observed in other neurological as compressive neuropathies at the chiasma location. OCT assessment also showed an increase in choroidal thickness as a result of vascular changes.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Heterogeneity in protocols and outcomes to study the effect of renin‐angiotensin system blockers in inflammatory bowel disease: a systematic review

    No full text
Background: The renin-angiotensin system (RAS) has been associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), supporting the translational relevance of RAS blockers. Comparability of study design/outcomes is fundamental for data analysis/discussion. Objectives: We aimed at evaluating the heterogeneity among protocols and outcomes to study the effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers in IBD. Methods: This study was performed and reported in accordance with the Cochrane recommendations and PRISMA (PROSPERO-CRD42022323853). Systematic searches were performed in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Studies that met the inclusion criteria were selected. Quality assessment of the studies was done with the SYRCLES's risk of bias tools for animal studies. Results: Thirty-five pre-clinical studies and six clinical studies were included. Chemical induction of colitis was the most used model, but variable doses of the induction agent were reported. All studies reported at least a disease activity index, a macroscopic score, or a histologic assessment, but these scores were methodologically heterogeneous and reported for different characteristics. Great heterogeneity was also found in drug interventions. Inflammatory markers assessed as outcomes were different across studies. Conclusion: Lack of standardization of protocols and outcomes among studies threatens the evidence on how RAS blockers influence IBD outcomes.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Evidence of the impact of harm minimization programs

    No full text
People who use drugs (PWUD) account for around 275 million worldwide, with a prevalence of those who inject drugs (PWID) ranging from 0.18–0.30%. Drug injecting behaviors are often associated with harmful forms of use, leading users to a higher risk of infectious diseases, overdose, and death caused, among others, by unsafe practices such as shared needles and syringes. Additional burden from drug use includes costs related to crime combating, social consequences of drug behavior, and lost productivity. From a public health perspective, harm minimization measures – defined as a range of interventions aiming at addressing the negative effects of drug use on both individuals and society – can be implemented for those who are unable or unwilling to stop using drugs. The most common interventions to minimize drug-related harm include access to naloxone, opioid substitution therapy, supply reduction interventions for opioids, integration of testing and treatment of blood-borne diseases, nonprescription sales or provision of sterile syringes, and supervised drug consumption facilities. In this chapter, we provided a brief overview of drug use disorders and synthetized the evidence around the impact of the available interventions to reduce the harm associated, especially, with injectable drug use. Moreover, the contribution of pharmacists to harm minimization interventions was also revised and discussed in the context of pharmacy practice.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

The Portuguese Sustainable Campus Network: a knowledge collaboration for sustainability transformation in higher education institutions

    No full text
Networks are an important mechanism for systemic change toward sustainability in higher education institutions. In Portugal, there is no formal law or regulation at the governmental level pressuring for this change. Also, there was a need for action and a lack of collaboration between the Portuguese higher education community to allow an advanced sustainability implementation in higher education institutions. This chapter presents the activities that the Portuguese Network Sustainable Campus—Rede Campus Sustentável (RCS) has been undertaking. The history and organization of the network are presented as well as a summary of its main initiatives, namely the results of the first survey report on the Implementation of Sustainability in Higher Education in Portugal, where the actual practices in the main dimensions are listed. This work aims to contribute to the studies about sustainability-oriented networks in higher education, addressing its current and future challenges.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Improving indoor air quality in a higher-education institution through biophilic solutions

    No full text
Schools are vital infrastructures where students acquire essential skills and foster social values. Indoor air quality (IAQ) is of paramount importance in schools, given that students spend a considerable amount of time indoors. This study examines the influence of a natural green structure (NGS) on IAQ in an Eco-Campus classroom. The IAQ of a classroom with an NGS was compared to that of an adjacent classroom without an NGS. The thermal conditions were monitored, including air temperature (T) and relative humidity (RH), as well as indoor pollutants, including carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10). The findings indicated a substantial improvement in indoor air quality in the classroom where the green structure was installed. This study lends support to the incorporation of biophilic solutions as sustainable approaches to fostering healthier learning environments, which in turn can lead to improvements in student performance and well-being.IPL/IDI&CA2024/HealthyIES_ISEL - Instituto Politécnico de Lisbo
