Recently, customer harassment has attracted considerable attention in various professional fields. Home visits are the basis of public health nurses’ activities, but there are few reports on customer harassment during home visits. This study clarified the current situation and factors related to verbal abuse and physical violence experienced from residents during public health nurses’ home visits. Data were collected from 80 individuals through a mailed survey of 154 public health nurses employed at 17 health centers in Gifu Prefecture. The survey utilized anonymous and self-administered questionnaires (response rate, 51.9%). The analysis showed that 80.0% of the participants had experienced the verbal abuse by residents during home visits, and 16.3% had experienced the physical violence. Result of logistic analysis, those who had experienced verbal abuse were approximately 10 times more likely to experience physical violence (adjusted odds ratio [AOR]=9.95; 95% confidence interval [CI]=2.49–39.79). Additionally, it was suggested that a factor associated with verbal abuse was “the number of months from starting work until visiting alone.” In contrast, factors associated with physical violence included “total years of experience as a public health nurse,” “highest level of education,” “qualifications,” “type of work,” and “experience outside of public health center or health center.”departmental bulletin pape

Testing local position invariance with odd multipoles of galaxy clustering statistics

We investigate cosmological constraints on local position invariance (LPI), a key aspect of the Einstein equivalence principle (EEP), through asymmetric galaxy clustering. The LPI asserts that the outcomes of the nongravitational experiments are identical regardless of location in spacetime and has been tested through measurements of the gravitational redshift effect. Therefore, measuring the gravitational redshift effect encoded in galaxy clustering provides a powerful and novel cosmological probe of the LPI. Recent work by Saga et al. proposed its validation using the cross-correlation function between distinct galaxy samples, but their analysis focused solely on the dipole moment. In this paper, we extend their work by further analyzing a higher-order odd multipole moment, the octupole moment, in the constraints on the LPI-violating parameter, , expected from galaxy surveys such as Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, Euclid space telescope, Subaru Prime Focus Spectrograph, and Square Kilometre Array. We demonstrate that combining the octupole and dipole moments significantly improves the constraints, particularly when the analysis is restricted to larger scales, characterized by a large minimum separation min . For a conservative setup with min=15  Mpc/ℎ , we find an average improvement of 11% compared to using the dipole moment alone. Our results highlight the importance of higher-order multipoles in constraining , providing a more robust approach to testing the EEP on cosmological scales.journal articl

Post-transplant TKIs for Ph plus ALL: practices to date and clinical significance

    No full text
Post-transplant tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) show promise in preventing relapse after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ALL). However, their real-world use and efficacy remain unclear. A comprehensive study across seven centers included Ph+ALL patients who underwent allo-HCT between 2002 and 2022. Post-transplant TKIs were administered in 28% of patients (49 of 173 transplanted in complete remission): 7% as prophylaxis during complete molecular remission (CMR), and 21% in response to measurable residual disease (MRD) positivity. Median first post-transplant TKI duration was 13.7 months for the prophylactic group and 4.0 months for the MRD-triggered group. Prophylactic TKIs appear particularly beneficial for patients not in CMR at allo-HCT, showing a trend towards higher 5-year relapse-free survival (RFS) compared to those not receiving prophylactic TKIs (100% vs. 73%; P = 0.11). Significant RFS differences were observed between the prophylactic, non-TKI, and MRD-triggered groups. However, patients with white blood cell counts <15000/µl at diagnosis and no additional chromosomal abnormalities—an MRD-triggered high efficacy cluster—demonstrated comparable 5-year RFS regardless of TKI strategy (100% vs. 85% vs. 80%; P = 0.87). This cluster highlights the potential effectiveness of MRD-triggered TKI administration in select low-risk patients, suggesting tailored TKI strategies based on risk factors.journal articl

    1980年代の雑誌『宝島』におけるマイナー志向 : 誌面構成の変遷と読者に着目して

Takarajima magazine gained many readers in the 1980s as a media outlet for the New Wave culture, an eccentric and individualistic youth culture centered on New Wave which is a form of rock music. During that time, reading Takarajima indicated that one is a young person with a taste for radical and individualistic styles. Although there are several previous studies on Takarajima in the 1980s, there have been no detailed analyses of the magazine's structure and changes during that period. However, it is important to note that depending on the publication period, Takarajima in the 1980s differed in content and editorial policy. Therefore, it seems important to consider these changes. This paper examines Takarajima in the 1980s, dividing it into three periods marked by significant changes in the magazine's overall specifications. The analysis focuses on the magazine's layout, editor's note, and readers' columns to clarify changes over about 10-year period. The study revealed that in the 1980s, Takarajima underwent two major specification changes, namely, the colorization of all pages and the shift to a larger format, and that the magazine changed from a magazine that focused mainly on textual information to one that contained more visual information. In addition, articles became more focused on Japanese rock music and fashion. While these changes brought in new readers, they also gave readers the impression that the magazine had lost its distinctiveness and had become popularized, thus causing dissatisfaction among existing readers. In conclusion, it is clear that Takarajima underwent a gradual, major transformation as a result of the interplay between changes in the magazine and changes in its readership. This process is also closely related to the fact that new wave culture became a major culture during the expansion of the rock scene and the band boom. Therefore we can say that the changes in Takarajima magazine and its readership were a phenomenon related to the changes in new wave culture.departmental bulletin pape

Nagoya University Museum, in collaboration with the student organization MusaForum, has been exploring the concept of a university museum as a “health room” to support students’ mental and physical well-being. As part of this initiative, the museum conducted a “Museum Bathing” study in partnership with Prof. Izumi Ogata of Kyushu Sangyo University. This study examined the impact of museum visits on young people's mental health and found significant benefits, including stress reduction and improved mood. Building on these findings, the museum installed a self-service blood pressure and pulse monitor and began promoting the concept of “Museum Bathing.” Visitor surveys revealed strong interest, with many participants noting a shift in their emotional state. For instance, visitors who initially reported feeling “hot,” “sleepy,” or “tired” frequently described feeling “relaxed” and “enjoyable” by the end of their visit. This suggests that the museum fosters psychological refreshment and serves as a source of comfort. Not all visitors come to the museum with a strong motivation to learn. However, these findings suggest that museums are not only spaces for the dissemination of knowledge and culture but also have the potential to serve as “health rooms for the mind,” offering revitalization and emotional support to a diverse range of visitors.departmental bulletin pape

    20世紀初頭アメリカの大学教員資格論 : NCAアクレディテーション基準に着目して

    Get PDF
This study aimed to elucidate the discourse on college teaching qualifications in the early-20th-century United States by examining debates over college teaching qualifications in the accreditation standards of the North Central Association (NCA). Previous studies have identified discussions on preparations for college teaching from the 1930s-40s based on the concept of “teaching as well as research.” However, the concept’s relationship with the early development of accreditation remains unexplored. During the period of higher education expansion, the study analyzed two phases-namely the “standards exploration period” until the mid- 1920s and the “reconstruction period” until the mid-1930s. During the exploration period, the NCA established degree requirements while incorporating the “teaching as well as research” concept, which was maintained after the American Council on Education formulated national uniform standards. During the reconstruction period, amid criticism of accreditation, the limitations of quality assurance through degree requirements were recognized, which led to a greater emphasis on substantive teaching abilities. The study’s findings suggest that debates over faculty qualifications in accreditation standards, developed amid the coexistence of research universities and liberal arts colleges, provided opportunities to seek a balance between research and teaching. Thus, they laid a crucial foundation for subsequent discussions of faculty development.departmental bulletin pape
