    The globalization era which is full of challenges couldnot be avoided. Therefore, the educational institutions, especially islamic education, should be able to answer those challenges in order to change the direction of educational orientation. One of figures who is serious in building educational thinking paradigm is A. Malik Fadjar. This study aims to explore his educational thinking paradigm and educational concept proposed. A. Malik Fadjar faces the challenge of global era. The result of study showed that his educational thinking paradigm is holistic; in which the education is humanists, liberative, integralistics, multicultural and futuristic, either in the aspect of vision and mision, institution, management, patterns of educational interaction, curriculum, and educator. To face global era, A Malik Fadjar states that there are three big challenges, they are to protect the result achieved, anticipate the global era, and do some changes and adjustment of the national education system

    Appropriatizing Politeness Theory for Intercultural Communication in Elt

    The theory of politeness suggests strategies in social interaction by which a person can use to save the hearer\u27s face upon the effect of face-threatening acts or FTAs. Face threatening acts are described by Brown and Levinson as the acts that infringe the hearer\u27s need of maintaining his/her self-esteem and be respected. Brown and Levinson accepted that the notion of face is respected as universal norms or values subscribed to by the members of the society. In that regard, this article provides a discussion about various viewpoints on the debate of universality of politeness theory and criticisms addressed by eastern-pragmaticists that this theory should not be seen as universally applicable. Cultural differences, as suggested by non-western pragmaticists, accord what is accepted in the context of face in western culture to be not accepted in other cultures. Therefeore, although we accept that Brown & Levinson\u27s theory has made a significant breakthrough in elaborating politeness, appropriation of this theory should be accounted in intercultural communication instead to accept it as universal

Implementation of this research aims to be known: (1) How is the curriculum of Chemical Education Program currently in use, and (2) How is the curriculum of Chemical Education Program that is relevant to the times now. The research was conducted at the Basic Education Program Chemistry Faculty of tarbiyah UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh in April to September 2013. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive, the population in this study is a faculty, alumni, and students of Chemistry Education Tarbiyah UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Retrieving data using instruments interviews with faculty, students, and alumni of Basic Chemical Education Program Faculty of tarbiyah UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. While the curriculum documentation talaah Basic Chemical Education Program Faculty of tarbiyah UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh and curriculum Document Basic Chemical Education Program FKIP Unsyiah Banda Aceh. The results obtained in this study are: (1) Get a picture of the curriculum of Chemical Education Program currently in use, and (2) Chemistry Education Program curriculum that is relevant to the times now for the Basic Education Program Chemistry Faculty of tarbiyah UIN Ar Raniry Banda Aceh.     The microscopic concept in chemistry learning can not be obtained directly from the experience or sensory observations. To understand this microscopic concept requires complex intellectual engagement. One way to facilitate learners in understanding the concept of microscopic is by using the appropriate modeling or learning media. In the study of chemical solution, so that learners easy to understand the concept of the microscopic can use a model picture called the microscopic model of depiction. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of learning chemical concept of solution by applying the model of microscopic depiction as well as to know the student\u27s response to microscopic modeling in MAN Kabupaten Pidie Aceh Province. The research design used in this research is quasi experimental design. The results showed that by applying microscopic modeling model can streamline the learning process of chemical solution in MAN Kabupaten Pidie.     Supervisi akademik adalah bantuan profesional yang diberikan oleh supervisor kepada guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya agar ia mampu mengembangkan proses pembelajaran yang lebih berkualitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data tentang 1) Perencanaan supervisi akademik yang disusun oleh pengawas, 2) Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik oleh pengawas dan (3) Tindak lanjut hasil supervisi akademik oleh pengawas. Dengan mempergunakan metode deskriptif, pendekatan kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, subjek penelitian pengawas, kepala sekolah, dan guru-guru di SMK Negeri 1 Mesjid Raya, dan analisis kualitatif, penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil: 1) Perencanaan supervisi akademik yang disusun oleh pengawas sudah sesuai dengan prosedur yang ditetapkan, 2) Pelaksanaan supervisi akademik oleh pengawas sudah efektif baik dilihat dari teknik yang digunakan, maupun prosedur pelaksanaannya, (3) Tindak lanjut hasil supervisi akademik yang dilaksanakan pengawas dapat membantu guru mengatasi masalah yang dialaminya. Disarankan agar pola pelaksanaan supervisi akademik yang dilaksanakan pengawas pada SMKN hendaknya dipertahankan terus karena dapat meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru

    The aim of this research was: (1) to give the standardization of BSNP information from a chemistry text book of the 2nd semester in class XII that internalized by character value in accordance with the curriculum development of 2013, (2) to see the result of learning and to know the result of students' attitude observation in the learning process. The benefits of this research was the existence of textbooks that fit into BSNP standard has been already good and adding the scientific information. The method used in this research was: Research and Development method by using BSNP Standardization in the chemistry book that validated by chemistry teacher in Langsa city and the application test in book development and doing observation process toward student attitude to learning. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that: (1) the development of textbooks has fulfilled the standard of content feasibility assessment with a score about 4.18, score language about 4.64, presentation of score about 4.6 and graphic book or score about 4.5, so it was valid. (2) the students learning outcomes by using this book book indicate the increasing of students' knowledge from the average score of pretest score of 43.3 to postes of 91.66. (3) The result of the attitude assessment was shown from the observation value to the student discussion attitude with the cooperation was score about 2.4, the curiosity score about 2.8, attitude score about 2.6 and communication score about 3.1. The conclusions of this research, were: (1) the result of the book development has been very feasible to use, (2) the increasing of student learning outcomes equal to 84.78%. (3) There is a change in student character to be better

    Qanun of education is hoped to be socialized in Aceh education. This research aims to give information and real description of islamic education in Banda Aceh city. The result showed that the concept of curriculum, educators, and educational institution in Qanun No. 5 year 2008 is the education run based on islamic values, foundations, and cultures as guidance to implement islamic law (syari\u27at) truly in every aspects of life. The implementation of curriculum, educators, and educational institution have contributed significantly, yet it still have to be improved.Overall, they are classified into good catagory. It showed that most of teachers have good impression toward the implementation of islamic education in Banda Aceh city

    One of the aims in learning natural science is to lead the students have a strong belief of a greatness of God and also to develop their skill of natural science. For that reason, in natural science teaching-learning process, a teacher has to develop students\u27 spiritual attitude and process skill in order to reach curriculum demand. This study aims to have information about teachers\u27 ability in developing students\u27 Islamic spiritual attitude and process skill based on their lesson planning and learning process of natural science classroom at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Krueng Sabee. The research method used was descriptive method. The instrument of the research was an analysis guide of RPP to find the ability of teacher in developing spiritual attitude and natural science process skill in RPP; a learning observation sheet to find the ability of the teachers in developing spiritual attitude and natural science process skill in learning process; and an interview guide to find the teachers\u27 obstacles in developing spiritual attitude and natural science process skill as a support data. The data was analyzed by using percentage which later was described based on the research questions. The study found that the teachers\u27 ability in developing spiritual attitude was still very low with percentage 0%; meanwhile, the ability of teachers in developing spiritual attitude in learning process was variety for each activity; Only at the beginning activities, the teachers were able to develop spiritual attitude with percentage 100%; for final activities, the result was 50% and for core activities was 0%. The teachers\u27 ability of sainsprocessskill was also not good as not all the teachers were able to develop a complete KPS indicator in both RPP and learning process

    Kepemimpinan Kepala Madrasah Dalam Meningkatkan Kinerja Guru Pada Man Model Banda Aceh

    School head master is one of factors in encouraging the school to reach its vision, mission, aim and target through the planned implemented program. The aim of the study is to know the leadership of the head master of the school in improving the teachers\u27 commitment, work motivation and obstacles experiencing by the school head master in improving the teachers\u27 performance at MAN Model Banda Aceh. The study used descriptive method. The data collection techniques were observations, interviews, and documentations. The subjects of this research were the head master of the school and the teachers of MAN Model Banda Aceh. The data analysis of this qualitative analysis shows that: (1) the leadership of the head master of the school in improving working commitment is through empowerment of the training teacher in accordance with their field, class supervision evaluation and interns routinely madrasah supervision, and give reward to outstanding teacher; ( 2 ) the school head master leadership in improving work motivation is through professionalism work guiding, evaluate the teacher learning program, consensus agreement in time discipline, and intern cooperation with the school head master and guiding teachers; (3) the head master leadership in improving discipline is through applying self discipline of school head master in order to be followed by teachers as the discipline being conducted by the school head master in fully self awareness without any coercion; (4) the obstacles faced by the school head master in improving the teacher performance is because of time restriction in carrying out classroom supervision, guiding professional teachers and evaluate the teachers teaching-learning process, as well as restricted fund allocation in MAN Model Banda Aceh
