Un environnement formel d'assistance à la modélisation de protocoles

The use of protocol design toolkits based on UML profiles has been hampered by the lack of methodological support. Indeed, those toolkits should include an assistant based on patterns and dedicated to driving the designer step by step through a well defined methodology. Thus, the TURTLE UML profile is extended with widely accepted service and protocol-oriented patterns. These patterns are built upon UML analysis diagrams i.e. use case, interaction overview and sequence diagrams. Moreover, all these patterns and diagrams have a formal semantics. Finally, they have been implemented in TTool, the open-source toolkit supporting TURTLE. The proposed approach remains general and may be applied to various modeling languages and use-case analysis driven processes

Modelling performance in a Balanced Scorecard : findings from a case study

Cet article s'intéresse à la mise en place de l'approche dite du "Balanced Scorecards" dans des unités opérationnelles plutôt qu'au niveau d'une direction générale. Il s'appuie sur une étude de cas. On propose de traiter les questions relatives à la coordination, à la fixation des objectifs et au contrôle en s'appuyant sur une méthodologie originale pour construire le modèle d'interaction entre les différentes entités de l'organisation. Cette méthodologie fait une part importante à l'apprentissage organisationnel permettant ainsi une compréhension mutuelle des degrés de liberté individuels et une meilleure observation réciproque. This is a methodological chapter in which the question for investigation is how to describe the effects of technological mediation on learning. The chapter focuses on the use of language by learners enrolled on a course of English-for-specific purposes, which they attended entirely via the synchronous multimodal platform Lyceum. Data showing how learners utilise the resources of the environment in order to progress conversations with native-speaker tutors and with their peers is analysed. Usages, contre-usages: nouvelles cultures des formations virtuelles

Based on a study of virtual language learning via real-time multimodal platforms, this article has a focus on usage in teleconferencing. In particular, the relationship between the structure of a particular platform (Lyceum) and the usage that is developed within it is examined. To do so, the author introduces the notion of affordance. Using four analytical dimensions derived from social semiotics, discourse, design, production and distribution of the artefact used for teleconferencing, the author presents examples of appropriation, some in line with the aims of the platform designers, others created by the users to counter what appear to be communicative failings of the platform
