    Extended active disturbance rejection controller

    Get PDF
Multiple designs, systems, methods and processes for controlling a system or plant using an extended active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) based controller are presented. The extended ADRC controller accepts sensor information from the plant. The sensor information is used in conjunction with an extended state observer in combination with a predictor that estimates and predicts the current state of the plant and a co-joined estimate of the system disturbances and system dynamics. The extended state observer estimates and predictions are used in conjunction with a control law that generates an input to the system based in part on the extended state observer estimates and predictions as well as a desired trajectory for the plant to follow

Actuator fault estimation based on a switched LPV extended state observer

article en cours de soumission à une revueActuator fault estimation problem is tackled in this paper. The actuator faults are modeled in the form of multiplicative faults by using effectiveness factors representing the loss of efficiency of the actuators. The main contribution of this paper lies in the capability of dealing with the presented problem by using a switched LPV observer approach. The LTI system in the presence of faulty actuators is rewritten as a switched LPV system by considering the control inputs as scheduling parameters. Then, the actuator faults and the system states are estimated using a switched LPV extended observer. The observer gain is derived, based on the LMIs solution for the switched LPV systems. The presented actuator fault estimation approach is validated by two illustrative examples, the first one about a damper fault estimation of a semi-active suspension system, and the second one concerned to fault estimations on a multiple actuators system

Robust Coordinated Control Algorithm for Multiple Marine Vessels with External Disturbances

    Get PDF
The problem of coordinated control for multiple marine vessels in the presence of external disturbances is considered in this paper. A robust coordinated control algorithm is proposed for multiple marine vessels. The proposed robust coordinated control algorithm is divided into two parts. The first part develops an extended state observer to estimate the disturbances of marine vessels. The second part presents a robust coordinated control algorithm based on the output of the extended state observer. Furthermore, the robust coordinated control algorithm is designed using the dynamic surface control method. In light of the leader-follower strategy, the trajectory for each vessel is defined according to the desired trajectory of the assigned leader and the relative distance with respect to the leader. The effectiveness of the proposed coordination algorithm is demonstrated by the simulation results

Predictive extended state observer-based repetitive controller for uncertain systems with input delay

This article presents a predictive extended state observer-based repetitive controller (PESO-RC) to simultaneously track and reject periodic signals on systems with long input delay and parameter uncertainties. First, a novel extended state observer (ESO) is proposed to tackle periodic signals on processes with input delay. Then a simple low pass filter is incorporated and tuned to improve robustness against modelling errors. Moreover, the modified repetitive controller (MRC) is integrated to enhance the performance when compensating periodic signals without affecting the overall system’s stability. Stability criteria and robust stability analysis under modelling errors are studied to develop tuning guidelines. Furthermore, validation of the proposed controller and comparison studies are simulated in MATLAB and tested on a brushless DC servo motor which highlight the superior performance of PESO-RC
