Finding Multiple Solutions in Nonlinear Integer Programming with Algebraic Test-Sets

    Get PDF
We explain how to compute all the solutions of a nonlinear integer problem using the algebraic test-sets associated to a suitable linear subproblem. These test-sets are obtained using Gröbner bases. The main advantage of this method, compared to other available alternatives, is its exactness within a quite good efficiency.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad MTM2016-75024-PMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad MTM2016-74983-C2- 1-RJunta de Andalucía P12-FQM-269

Selection of Software Product Line Implementation Components Using Recommender Systems: An Application to Wordpress

    Get PDF
In software products line (SPL), there may be features which can be implemented by different components, which means there are several implementations for the same feature. In this context, the selection of the best components set to implement a given configuration is a challenging task due to the high number of combinations and options which could be selected. In certain scenarios, it is possible to find information associated with the components which could help in this selection task, such as user ratings. In this paper, we introduce a component-based recommender system, called (REcommender System that suggests implementation Components from selecteD fEatures), which uses information associated with the implementation components to make recommendations in the domain of the SPL configuration. We also provide a RESDEC reference implementation that supports collaborative-based and content-based filtering algorithms to recommend (i.e., implementation components) regarding WordPress-based websites configuration. The empirical results, on a knowledge base with 680 plugins and 187 000 ratings by 116 000 users, show promising results. Concretely, this indicates that it is possible to guide the user throughout the implementation components selection with a margin of error smaller than 13% according to our evaluation.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad RTI2018-101204-B-C22Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2014-55894-C2-1-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2017-88209-C2-2-RMinisterio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad MCIU-AEI TIN2017-90644-RED

An Extension of NDT to Model Entity Reconciliation Problems

    Get PDF
Within the development of software systems, the development of web applications may be one of the most widespread at present due to the great number of advantages they provide such as: multiplatform, speed of access or the not requiring extremely powerful hardware among others. The fact that so many web applications are being developed, makes grotesque the volume of information that it is generated daily. In the management of all this information, it appears the entity reconciliation problem, which is to identify objects referring to the same real-world entity. This paper proposes to give a solution to this problem through a web perspective. To this end, the NDT methodology has been taken as a reference and has been extended adding new activities, artefacts and documents to cover this problem.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2013-46928-C3-3-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2016-76956-C3-2-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2015-71938-RED

Improved Contrast Sensitivity DVS and its Application to Event-Driven Stereo Vision

    Get PDF
This paper presents a new DVS sensor with one order of magnitude improved contrast sensitivity over previous reported DVSs. This sensor has been applied to a bio-inspired event-based binocular system that performs 3D event-driven reconstruction of a scene. Events from two DVS sensors are matched by using precise timing information of their ocurrence. To improve matching reliability, satisfaction of epipolar geometry constraint is required, and simultaneously available information on the orientation is used as an additional matching constraint.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad PRI-PIMCHI-2011-0768Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TEC2009-10639-C04-01Junta de Andalucía TIC-609

Advanced Control for Energy Management of Grid-Connected Hybrid Power Systems in the Sugar Cane Industry

    Get PDF
This work presents a process supervision and advanced control structure, based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) coupled with disturbance estimation techniques and a finite-state machine decision system, responsible for setting energy productions set-points. This control scheme is applied to energy generation optimization in a sugar cane power plant, with non-dispatchable renewable sources, such as photovoltaic and wind power generation, as well as dispatchable sources, as biomass. The energy plant is bound to produce steam in different pressures, cold water and, imperiously, has to produce and maintain an amount of electric power throughout each month, defined by contract rules with a local distribution network operator (DNO). The proposed predictive control structure uses feedforward compensation of estimated future disturbances, obtained by the Double Exponential Smoothing (DES) method. The control algorithm has the task of performing the management of which energy system to use, maximize the use of the renewable energy sources, manage the use of energy storage units and optimize energy generation due to contract rules, while aiming to maximize economic profits. Through simulation, the proposed system is compared to a MPC structure, with standard techniques, and shows improved behavior.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad CNPq401126/2014-5Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad CNPq303702/2011-7Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad DPI2016-78338-

Pulse-width predictive control for LTV systems with application to spacecraft rendezvous

    Get PDF
This work presents a Model Predictive Controller (MPC) that is able to handle Linear Time-Varying (LTV) plants with Pulse-Width Modulated (PWM) control. The MPC is based on a planner that employs a Pulse-Amplitude Modulated (PAM) or impulsive approximation as a hot-start and then uses explicit linearization around successive PWM solutions for rapidly improving the solution by means of quadratic programming. As an example, the problem of rendezvous of spacecraft for eccentric target orbits is considered. The problem is modeled by the LTV Tschauner–Hempel equations, whose state transition matrix is explicit; this is exploited by the algorithm for rapid convergence. The efficacy of the method is shown in a simulation study.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad DPI2008–05818Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad MTM2015-65608-

In this work, an automatic and intelligent system for integrated healthcare processes management is developed on a constraint based system. This project has been carried out in collaboration with a real assisted repro-duction clinic. Our goal is to improve the efficiency of the clinic by facilitating the management of the integrated healthcare system. This is very important in an environment in which the healthcare processes present complex temporal and resource constraints.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2016-76956-C3-2-RMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2015-71938-RED

    Fostering SLA-Driven API Specifications

    Get PDF
Software architecture tendencies are shifting to a microservice paradigm. In this context, RESTful APIs are being established the standard of integration. API designer often identifies two key issues to be competitive in such growing market. On the one hand, the generation of accurate documentation of the behavior and capabilities of the API to promote its usage; on the other hand, the design of a pricing plan that fits into the potential API user’s needs. Besides the increasing number of API modeling alternatives is emerging, there is a lack of proposals on the definition of flexible pricing plans usually contained in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs). In this paper we propose two different modeling techniques for the description of SLA in a RESTful API context: iAgree and SLA4OAI.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2015-70560-RJunta de Andalucía P12-TIC-1867Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad TIN2014-53986-RED
