Monotonic Allocation Schemes in Clan Games
Total clan games are characterized using monotonicity, veto power of the clan members, and a concavity condition reflecting the decreasing marginal contribution of non-clan members to growing coalitions. This decreasing marginal contribution is incorporated in the notion of a bi-monotonic allocation scheme, where the value of each coalition is divided over its members in such a way that the clan members receive a higher, and the non-clan members a lower share as the coalitions grow larger. Each core element of a total clan game can be extended to both a population monotonic and a bi-monotonic allocation scheme. In total clan games where the clan consists of a single member (the so-called big boss) the use of the nucleolus as an allocation mechanism gives rise to a bi-monotonic allocation scheme.cooperative games;population monotonic allocation scheme;bi-monotonic allocation scheme;clan games;big boss games
Convex Games versus Clan Games
In this paper we provide characterizations of convex games and total clan games by using properties of their corresponding marginal games. We show that a "dualize and restrict" procedure transforms total clan games with zero worth for the clan into monotonic convex games.Furthermore, each monotonic convex game generates a total clan game with zero worth for the clan by a "dualize and extend" procedure. These procedures are also useful for relating core elements and elements of the Weber set of the corresponding games.convex games;core;dual games;marginal games;total clan games;Weber set
On Statistical Mechanics Developments of Clan Concept in Multiparticle Production
Clan concept has been introduced in multiparticle dynamics in order to
interpret the wide occurrence of negative binomial (NB) regularity in n-charged
particle multiplicity distributions (MDs) in various high energy collisions.
The centrality of clan concept led to the attempt to justify its occurrence
within a statistical model of clan formation and evolution. In this framework
all thermodynamical potentials have been explicitly calculated in terms of NB
parameters. Interestingly it was found that NB parameter k corresponds to the
one particle canonical partition function. The goal of this paper is to explore
a possible temperature and volume dependence of parameter k in various classes
of events in high energy hadron-hadron collisions. It is shown that the
existence of a phase transition at parton level from the ideal clan gas
associated to the semihard component with k>1 to the ideal clan gas of the hard
component with k<1 implies a discontinuity in the average number of particles
at hadron level.Comment: 20 pages, latex, no figures; v2: the description of the framework has

Working with the CHILDES tools : transcription, coding and analysis
The Child Language Data Exchange System (CHILDES) consists of Codes for the Human Analysis of Transcripts (CHAT), Computerized Language Analysis (CLAN), and a database. There is also an online manual which includes the CHILDES bibliography, the database, and the CHAT conventions as well as the CLAN instructions. The first three parts of this paper concern the CHAT format of transcription, grammatical coding, and analyzing transcripts by using the CLAN programs. The fourth part shows examples of transcribed and coded data

Speaking of clans: language in Awyu-Ndumut communities of Indonesian West Papua
The place of language in Awyu-Ndumut speech communities of the Indonesian province of West Papua is investigated from the point of view of the parallel but interconnected worlds of clan lands and nation-state sponsored settlements, with institutions such as schools and churches. First, language and identity, language names, multilingualism, linguistic ideologies and special speech registers are discussed from the perspective of clan-based cultural and linguistic practices. Second, the relationship between Papuan languages and Indonesian is investigated from the perspective of the dynamics of the clan land/settlement opposition. Indonesian is talked about by Awyu-Ndumut speakers both positively and negatively. Positively, they speak of it as an interethnic lingua franca. Negatively, they speak of it as the language of "demons", that is people outside the boundaries of Awyu-Ndumut social personhood
