Making the cabin safer : a study of crew resource management training for cabin crew : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Aviation at Massey University
Crew Resource Management (CRM) is a widely implemented strategy in the aviation community as a training countermeasure to human error. The two most accessible criteria for CRM training evaluation are behaviour on line operation and attitudes showing acceptance or rejection of CRM concepts. The purpose of this research is to investigate CRM training effectiveness for cabin crew, achieved by assessing cabin crew's attitudes toward CRM and their performance during a the training drill. A questionnaire was created for assessing attitudes toward CRM and CRM training from the flight attendants' perspective at Air New Zealand. Comparing attitudes prior to and post the training suggested that the joint CRM training had a positive effect. The joint CRM training improved cabin crew's confidence in safety operation and commitment to their safety role. As some factors, such as job position, gender, age, work-year, aircraft type were likely to affect crewmembers' attitudes toward CRM, the survey also tried to test and finally disclosed that at least job position and gender had an effect on cabin crew attitudes. A series of behavioural markers were developed to measure cabin crew performance during a fire fighting drill. The observation results showed such behavioural markers were useful for assessing flight attendants' CRM skills and indicating the strength and weakness of cabin crew CRM skills showed in the fire fighting drills. In general the study suggests the overall CRM training in Air New Zealand is successful. It is advised that joint SEP/CRM training needs further concern about the balance of CRM and SEP training. It is also suggested which kinds of CRM skills are critical for cabin crew emergency control
The Evolvement and Development of Chinese Dragon
Chinese Dragon is an art product exclusively owned by China. It is called an art product for it is a supernatural artistic creation which does not exist in the natural world. The image of Chinese Dragon is a combination of the ideal, the aspiration, the wisdom and the strength of Chinese people, and the development of history, it has formed several representative features and became the symbol of Chinese nation. In the folk artworks, the image of Chinese Dragon is expressed richly and in great volume, and they are usually made with exquisite craftsmanship and outstanding style, which is breathtaking to the beholders. This paper, through analyzing the formation and evolvement process of Chinese Dragon, a traditional Chinese artistic figure, probes into the national spirit and glorious culture that Chinese Dragon has bestowed on Chinese nation. Such spirit and culture are a fairly splendid, time-honored and precious national cultural heritage which deserves our attention and research
Deconstruction and Reconstruction of “Administration” in Local Undergraduate Universities
The “administration” of local undergraduate universities is mainly manifested in the administrative tendency of the management of government to universities and the administrative tendency of the internal management of universities. By deconstructing the common administrative problems and their causes in local undergraduate universities, the path of optimization of administrative management in local undergraduate universities will be explored. The purpose is to reshape the relationship between the government which provides the service and universities which are served. Also, the internal governance structure of administrative power and academic power in local undergraduate universities can be reconstructed
More Than Just a Blog
Maag Library at Youngstown State University has implemented Wordpress open-source weblog software as a means to undertake a number of Web 2.0 services. Most frequently, Wordpress is utilized to create pages and posts representing web pages that must be updated or revised frequently. This presentation will discuss the project with particular attention paid to the decision to use Weblog software rather than other web development tools and the advantages of using a locally loaded and administered weblog server rather than utilizing a commercial weblog site. The audience will also understand the benefits and challenges to the utilization of open-source software (Wordpress)
Construction of Big Data Analysis Platform for College Students’ Sports Training Driven by Wireless Communication Network
College students’ physical training is an important aspect of their studies and lives. In light of the existing issues with the accuracy of the physical training evaluation index for college students and other issues. Based on the theory of wireless communication networks, model definition and stability analysis methods are used to optimize the original model. The optimization model of a wireless communication network is obtained by considering the data output control theory, trained by college students. This model can analyze the big data of college students’ physical training and construct the corresponding data platform. Through calculations, the rules for data changes under different indicators can be obtained. Finally, the accuracy of the optimized model is verified by comparing it with the original model. Related studies show that the variable parameters in the control system include model parameters, network upper limit, and corresponding control system parameters. On the whole, the model parameters exhibit a consistent trend of change, while the upper limit of the network displays a characteristic three-stage linear pattern. The control system first increases rapidly and then exhibits a gradual decline in exponential function type. The control system and the switching system can be switched using model calculations. The two different change curves exhibit obvious symmetry characteristics when influenced by the output times. It shows that the two change systems have opposite effects on the model, and the overall volatility is relatively high. The wireless communication network model can analyze and build a platform for collecting college students’ sports training data. According to the model calculation, it can be seen that the changes in different indexes exhibit clear linear characteristics. Among them, the concepts of sports, personalized training, and basic training show linearly increasing changes. However, the training structure and content exhibit a typical linear decline. Finally, the advantages of the wireless communication network model are illustrated with the experimental data. This study can provide guidance and ideas for the construction of a data platform for college students’ physical training
Efficiency Resource Allocation for Device-to-Device Underlay Communication Systems: A Reverse Iterative Combinatorial Auction Based Approach
Peer-to-peer communication has been recently considered as a popular issue
for local area services. An innovative resource allocation scheme is proposed
to improve the performance of mobile peer-to-peer, i.e., device-to-device
(D2D), communications as an underlay in the downlink (DL) cellular networks. To
optimize the system sum rate over the resource sharing of both D2D and cellular
modes, we introduce a reverse iterative combinatorial auction as the allocation
mechanism. In the auction, all the spectrum resources are considered as a set
of resource units, which as bidders compete to obtain business while the
packages of the D2D pairs are auctioned off as goods in each auction round. We
first formulate the valuation of each resource unit, as a basis of the proposed
auction. And then a detailed non-monotonic descending price auction algorithm
is explained depending on the utility function that accounts for the channel
gain from D2D and the costs for the system. Further, we prove that the proposed
auction-based scheme is cheat-proof, and converges in a finite number of
iteration rounds. We explain non-monotonicity in the price update process and
show lower complexity compared to a traditional combinatorial allocation. The
simulation results demonstrate that the algorithm efficiently leads to a good
performance on the system sum rate.Comment: 26 pages, 6 fgures; IEEE Journals on Selected Areas in

Editorial: Disease biomarker analysis based on optical biosensing
Disease biomarker analysis has become a crucial tool for diagnosing and evaluating disease prognosis, especially with the increasing understanding of diseases at the molecular level. Abnormalities in various biomarkers can indicate diseased states, and can be used to rapidly and specifically detect and quantify diseases using optical biosensing techniques (Gao et al., 2023). Optical biosensing techniques have several advantages over traditional methods including higher sensitivity, specificity, and faster analysis times (Plikusiene and Ramanaviciene, 2023). It also allows for non-invasive sample collection. With advancements in optical biosensing technology, many medical conditions including cancers, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders can be accurately diagnosed and efficiently treated (Singh et al., 2023; Tang et al., 2023). The combination of optical biosensing with emerging technologies such as material science, optics, and electronics has further accelerated its development in biomarker analysis (Qureshi et al., 2022). Interdisciplinary collaboration between experts in fields such as physics, chemistry, bioengineering, and medicine has helped pave the way for novel optical biosensing technologies as well as improving existing ones. Continued interdisciplinary collaboration is essential in advancing the field of disease biomarker analysis based on optical biosensing. This exciting area of research holds great potential for the future of personalized and precision medicine, and will likely lead to more effective disease diagnoses and treatments (Duo et al., 2023)
