Does Maturity Signals High Risk and High Return?

The objective of this study is to examine the interaction between firm maturity and firm growth opportunities over risk and its impact on returns. This study uses 135 firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2010 to 2016 as sample which gives 945 as total observed data. This study conducts path analysis in term for hypothesis testing and finds that firm maturity has significant role to increase the risk which gives impact on increasing the returns. In context of Indonesian firms, the findings imply that mature firms will have higher risk and higher returns

Regional autonomy and decentralization setting authority for every area in their independence and realize the potential to improve people's welfare. One potential area that is growing is a local tax , which is currently setting based on Undang-undang No. 28 tahun 2009. In terms of social welfare legislation is mandated to allocate some funds for the construction sector activities withholding tax , this policy is known as earmarking tax. Motor vehicle tax is one tax that is included in this policy where the amount of the allocation that is at least 10 % of the proceeds and used for the construction of transportation infrastructure. In SULUT terms are defined in Perda No. 7 tahun 2011 in which the contents of its mandate in accordance with such provisions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of earmarking tax policy of motor vehicle tax in the province of North Sulawesi in accordance with the mandate of the legislation in force. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis. The findings of this study are earmarking tax policy in SULUT go hand in hand with SULUT budget system where revenues and expenditures through the general treasury area. In 2014 the expenditure for the improvement of road infrastructure facilities reached 97.96% of total motor vehicle tax in North Sulawesi, thus setting the tax earmarking in SULUT not in accordance with applicable regulations

Data collection method used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. Technical analysis of data using simple linear regression analysis. From simple linear regression test result show that understanding the taxprayer on Government Regulation No. 46 of 2013 had a considerable influence on the acceptance of income tax on KPP Pratama Kotamobagu

Development of Novel Water-Gas Shift Membrane Reactor

This report summarizes the objectives, technical barrier, approach, and accomplishments for the development of a novel water-gas-shift (WGS) membrane reactor for hydrogen enhancement and CO reduction. We have synthesized novel CO{sub 2}-selective membranes with high CO{sub 2} permeabilities and high CO{sub 2}/H{sub 2} and CO{sub 2}/CO selectivities by incorporating amino groups in polymer networks. We have also developed a one-dimensional non-isothermal model for the countercurrent WGS membrane reactor. The modeling results have shown that H{sub 2} enhancement (>99.6% H{sub 2} for the steam reforming of methane and >54% H{sub 2} for the autothermal reforming of gasoline with air on a dry basis) via CO{sub 2} removal and CO reduction to 10 ppm or lower are achievable for synthesis gases. With this model, we have elucidated the effects of system parameters, including CO{sub 2}/H{sub 2} selectivity, CO{sub 2} permeability, sweep/feed flow rate ratio, feed temperature, sweep temperature, feed pressure, catalyst activity, and feed CO concentration, on the membrane reactor performance. Based on the modeling study using the membrane data obtained, we showed the feasibility of achieving H{sub 2} enhancement via CO{sub 2} removal, CO reduction to {le} 10 ppm, and high H{sub 2} recovery. Using the membrane synthesized, we have obtained <10 ppm CO in the H{sub 2} product in WGS membrane reactor experiments. From the experiments, we verified the model developed. In addition, we removed CO{sub 2} from a syngas containing 17% CO{sub 2} to about 30 ppm. The CO{sub 2} removal data agreed well with the model developed. The syngas with about 0.1% CO{sub 2} and 1% CO was processed to convert the carbon oxides to methane via methanation to obtain <5 ppm CO in the H{sub 2} product
