    Penerapan Budidaya Sayuran Vertikultur sebagai Optimalisasi Lahan di Perumahan Griya Pertiwi Kota Metro

    ABSTRAK Konsep perumahan saat ini banyak yang mendesain rumah dengan lahan pekarangan yang sempit, sedangkan banyak program pemerintah yang mengacu pada pemenuhan kebutuhan pangan melalui optimalisasi pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan. Perumahan Griya Pertiwi Kota Metro juga memiliki lahan pekarangan yang sempit. Untuk meningkatkan optimalisasi lahan pekarangan warga Griya Pertiwi maka sistem budidaya yang cocok adalah budidaya vertikultur. Metode yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan budidaya sistem vertikultur pada warga perumahan Griya Pertiwi yang memiliki lahan pekarangan sempit. Materi sosialisasi ini terdiri dari 3 bahasan : 1) kajian teknologi vertikultur sebagai solusi manajemen keuangan rumah tangga, 2) perakitan alat/media vertikultur serta 3) penanaman dan pemeliharaan tanaman pada sistem vertikultur. Setelah proses sosialisasi dan pelatihan budidaya sistem vertikultur ini, warga perumahan Griya Pertiwi sangat antusias. Warga menerapkan budidaya sistem vertikultur ini di pekarangan rumahnya, sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pangan yang sehat dan higienis bagi keluarganya. Kata kunci : lahan perumahan, vertikultur, kebutuhan pangan keluarga.ABSTRACTCurrently, many housing concepts are designing with narrow yards, while many government program refer to fulfill food for family through optimizing the use of yard land. Griya Pertiwi housing in Metro City also has a narrow yard. To increase the optimization of the homesteads of Griya Pertiwi resident, a suitable cultivation system is verticulture cultivation.The method in this program is socialization and training of verticulture cultivation for residents of Griya Pertiwi housing who have narrow yard. The socialization material consist of 3 topics : 1) study of verticulture technology as a household financial management solution, 2) assembling verticulture tools/media and 3) Palnting and maintaining plants in verticulture system. After socialization and training on cultivation of verticulture system, the residents of Griya Pertiwi were very enthusiastic.     PEMANFAATAN SERABUT KELAPA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PUPUK ORGANIK DARI AMPAS TAHU

    Organic fertilizer production with the use of coconut fiber to improve the quality of organic fertilizer has been done. This study aims to determine the increase in the quality of organic fertilizer pulp by utilizing coconut fibers in increasing the porosity of raw materials. Utilizing combination EM4 bioindicator and Starbio bioindicator to improve the process of decomposition of organic matter are applied in this research. This research use experiment method by comparing the quality of the fertilizer from tofu dregs only with the quality of the fertilizer tofu dregs that is adding by massa variations of coconut fibers. Bioindikator combination of EM4 and starbio also studied in this research. The result of this research showed that by using 7.5 grams of coconut fibers can increase the organic matter decomposition process. Combination of EM4 bioindicator and Stabio bioindicator also can increase decomposition process so the percentage of organic material in the organic fertilizer are on the threshold by SNI, namely 54,72%.Kata Kunci: ampas tahu, fermentasi, pupuk, serabut kelap

    ANALISIS NILAI GIZI HASIL FERMENTASI LARUTAN GULA AREN MENGGUNAKAN TERATAI SALJU (Saussurea involucrata)

    The nutrition level of fermented palm sugar solution using snow lotus (Saussurea involucrata) has been analyzed. It is necessary to determine it before this product is consumed by public. Palm sugar solution had been fermented using snow lotus (Saussurea involucrata) for 72 hour. The palm sugar solution before and after fermentation was analyzed its nutrition level such as protein, carbohydrates, vitamin C and alcohol level (methanol and ethanol) based on MUI and BPOM. After fermentation the level of protein, carbohydrates, vitamin C with consecutive is 0.557%; 1.81 mg/kg and 5.71 mg/kg. The level of protein content increased by 55 % and 42 % for carbohydrates, but the level of vitamin C decreased 16% when it compared to palm sugar solution before fermentation. Methanol wasn’t detected in fermented product after 72 hour, while ethanol is still below the threshold set by the MUI and Badan POM is 0.8%, so it is safe for consumption.     The Management of Vegetable Cultivation to Protect the Consumer from Heavy Metal Pollution

    Since heavy metals are potentially accumulated within vegetable organs, this research is conducted to identify those metals and their effects on the nutrient content. Two-Ways Analysis of Variance determined the effect of various location, vegetables, and vegetable organs towards metals. One-Way Analysis of Variance determined the effect of locations and fruit type on metals uptake. It is followed by examining heavy metals accumulation within edible parts of vegetables and its effects on protein, vitamin A and C. The Randomized Group Design of 3 factors (media, distribution, and vegetable organs) is employed considering 3 different harvesting times harvesting and cultivation adjustment (trimmed or not trimmed). The 3 factors Covariant Analysis defined the influences of media, time and way of harvesting on protein, vitamin A and C of water kangkoong stem and leaves. The results showed a significant influence of various areas (paddy field, industrial area, and highland) on Cd, Cr and Pb uptake within stems, leaves and fruits. Generally, the period and way of harvesting significantly influence the heavy metals uptake, level of protein, vitamin A and C, Mg and chlorophyll of water kangkoong. It is suggested to prune and harvest vegetables earlier to minimize heavy metals uptake and nutrient degradation

    Natural fruit acids are fruits that taste sour containing organic acids, one of which is citric acid, examples of natural fruit acids are tamarind, lime, lemon, pineapple. Natural fruit acids can be used as an ingredient for soaking food derived from fishery products to get rid of the fishy smell and give the people a flavor of cooking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of immersion of natural fruit acids on the reduction of lead (Pb) levels in Vanamae shrimp, to determine which immersion variations had the most effect on reducing lead levels in Vanamae shrimp. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized block design (RAKL). The experiment was carried out with 5 treatments, namely Control (200 grams of shrimp without immersion), Treatment 1 (200 grams of shrimp + 25ml filtrate), Treatment 2 (200 grams of shrimp + 25ml of lime), Treatment 3 (200 grams of shrimp + 25ml filtrate lemon), and treatment 4 (200 grams of shrimp + 25 ml filtrate), each treatment was given 4 times each. Based on the analysis of the anava test, the results obtained Fhit> Fdaf, It was concluded that there was an effect of immersion in natural fruit acids on reducing the levels of lead (Pb) in Vaname shrimp meat, soaking with lime acid was the most significant to reduce the levels of lead metal Pb

    Macroalgae is one component of the ecosystem that has an important role inwaters, especially on the coast of Pisang Island. The role of macroalgae formarine biota such as being a breeding ground and providing food. The PisangIsland Government plans that Pisang Island become one of the natural touristdestinations. Surely the region will experience a transition into a touristattraction and will have an influence on the ecosystem at sea. So before thetransition occurs, macroalgae research needs to be held on Pisang Island. Aqualitative descriptive research method with a purposive sampling techniqueusing a combination of transect lines. The data obtained were analyzed withShannon Winner.The objectives of the study of macroalgae on Pisang Island are: (1)Determine the species of macroalgae in Pisang Islands. (2) Knowing the resultsof research can be used as a poster. The results of macroalgae research onPisang Island found 10 species grouped into 3 divisions named Chaetomorphacrassa, Boergesenia forbesii, Avrainvillea erecta, Valonia aegagrophillia, Ulvalactuca, Sargassum polycytum, Turbinaria ornate, Fucus sp, Padina australis,Valonia aegagrophillia, Ulva lactuca, Sargassum polycytum, Turbinariaornate, Fucus sp. The results of the study were made into posters that can beused in learning and for the public. Posters contain information such asclassification of macroalgae, morphology, habitat benefits and there areoriginal photographs of macroalgae found. The results of poster validation,from material experts and design experts get a percentage of 96% with thecriteria "Very Good" and valid for use.     Catfish pond water waste has the potential value to produce fertilizer with innovations in its treatment, converting waste into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) that can be used by the community as the fertilizer of plants. The aims of this study were 1) To find out which pumakkal formula variation affected the levels of N, P, K in catfish pond wastewater, 2) To find out which pumakkal formula had the best effect on N, P, K levels in catfish pond wastewater, 3) To determine to find out the results of research in the form of LKPD suitable for use as biology teaching materials. This study uses an experimental research design. This study used 1 control and 5 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment 1 used 3 isolates, treatment 2 used 6 isolates, treatment 3 used 9 isolates, treatment 4 used 12 isolates, and treatment 5 used 15 isolates. The results of the test for liquid fertilizer from catfish pond wastewater showed that P5 was the best degrading agent with yields of N (0.533%), P (3.176%), and K (3.994%). Based on the analysis of the validation of teaching materials, this research is suitable for learning biology in the form of student activity sheets with a value of 86% validation of material aspects and 86% of design aspects

    ANALISIS KADAR GIZI TANAMAN KANGKUNG PADA MEDIA TERCEMAR KROMIUM MELALUI PENGATURAN KADAR MAGNESIUM

    Heavy metals pollution cannot be avoided since there is an industrial and technological advancement. They have great potential to contaminate soil and water in the environment, while soil and water are the growth medium for food crops. This research aims to analyze nutrient content of kangkoong that are grown on chromium-contaminated media by magnesium controlling method. This research uses the experimental method by controlling magnesium on chromium-contaminated media for kangkoong. Based on the results of this study, the magnesium controlling method on chromium-contaminated media can affect protein, vitamin A, and vitamin C levels. The interaction between chromium contamination with magnesium controlling method only has a significant effect on protein level but no significant effect on vitamin A and vitamin C.     UPAYA PENYEDIAAN PAKAN ALTERNATIF DARI FERMENTASI ONGGOK BAGI BEBEK PEDAGING DI KOTA METRO

    Onggok is solid waste of cassava flour that can be use as raw material for duck feed through fermentation process. Analysis of nutrition value such as protein use kjeldahl method, fat use soxhlet method and dietary fiber use gravimetric method have been done on onggok as raw material and fermented duck feed product. In addition, the effectiveness of fermented duck feed product has been tested to the growth as weight gain of duct that had been feeded fermented duck feed product. Based on the analysis of nutritional value can be seen that there is an increase in nutritional value from onggok as raw material in form of protein, fat dan crude fiber. The amount of the nutritional value of protein, fat and crude fiber in a row on fermented duck feed product are 10.55%; 4.55% and 19.19%. The effectiveness of fermented duck feed product to increase the weight gain of duck is 0,3 – 0,4 kg/week. Using fermented duck feed product from onggok can reduce the operational cost by 37,11%. Kata Kunci: fermentasi, onggok, gizi, pakan, bebe

Analysis of the nutritional value of protein, fat, fiber and carbohydrates has been done on raw materials before and after fermentation. Observing the growth of ducks after being fed fermented feeds. Economic review of duck farming using alternative feed from fermentation process of onggok as processed feed for duck livestock. The purpose of this community service is to make operational cost efficiency or production cost of livestock and increase farmer's income. The method used by approach comparing standard costing of operational cost or production cost which is commonly issued by breeder with operational cost or production cost with alternative processed feed from fermentation process of duck for duck livestock.
