    KAJIAN AWAL PREPARASI KOMPOSIT ENZIM GLUKOSA OKSIDASE - BENTONIT TERMODIFIKASI TMAOH

    Saat ini pemanfaatan enzim glukosa oksidase (GOD) sebagai biosensor untuk mendeteksi gula darah manusia makin berkembang. Penelitian dilakukan melalui pembuatan matriks imobilisasi enzim GOD menggunakan bentonit termodifikasi oleh perlakuan asam dan interkalasi surfaktan. Bentonit termodifikasi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sebuah matriks imobilisasi yang dapat dipergunakan untuk memerangkap enzim glukosa oksidase (GOD) Suatu model komposit enzim dapat dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan polimer konduktif yang berperan sebagai transduser dan akan memperkuat signal elektrokimia dari wafer enzim. Signal elektrokimia wafer enzim yang ditimbulkan oleh elektron yang dihasilkan dari reaksi enzimatis dibaca oleh alat LCR meter sebagai nilai kapasitansi. Pada penelitian ini, wafer enzim dibuat dengan berbagai variasi rasio konsentrasi Ca-bentonit:PAH yaitu 1:0, 1:1, 1:2 dan 1:3. Pengaruh penambahan polimer PAH berbagai rasio konsentrasi juga dipelajari dengan mengukur nilai kapasitansi oleh LCR meter dan nilai aktivitas menggunakan metode DNS. Selain itu juga akan dibuat sebuah membran selulosa asetat dengan berbagai variasi konsentrasi (0,5%, 1%, 1,5% dan 2%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan PAH memberikan pengaruh terhadap aktifitas enzim, yang ditunjukkan dengan semakin menurunnya harga kapasitansinya. Dengan dihasilkannya matriks komposit bentonit termodifikasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan nilai bentonit alam sebagai imobilisator berkinerja tinggi dengan harga yang relatif lebih murah dibandingkan matriks lainnya. Matriks bentonit termodifikasi ini juga diharapkan dapat dengan mudah diaplikasikan sebagai biosensor alat pengukur kadar glukosa, dan harganya lebih murah jika diproduksi masal

    The Influence of water and catalyst leach process toward propane oxidation on MoVTeNb catalyst

    The effect of the water stream to the propane oxidation on diluted MoVTeNb catalyst has been investigated. The present work has elucidated that careful operation of high throughput instrumentation can be used in various beneficial ways to speed up the discovery process of improved catalysts in other forms than enabling efficient trial-and-error testing of compositional variations of a given catalyst system. The result shows that the addition of massive amounts of water to the feed should have a negative influence on the kinetics, as water will compete with all other polar molecules in the system for adsorption sites. This work also investigated the effect of catalyst leach process toward propane oxidation. From the result, it can be described that catalyst leach process tends to reduce the phase of the catalyst that responds to the total oxidation of propane. This work also proposed the reaction network and gave the comparison between the propane oxidation reaction kinetic using leached and un-leached catalyst. The result showed that the activation energy of the acrylic acid formation on the leached catalyst was slightly higher than that of on un-leached catalyst. On the other hand, the activation energy of the carbon dioxide formation on the leached catalyst was much higher than that of on un-leached catalyst. It can be described that the leaching process to the catalyst can reduce the phase of the catalyst responsible for the total oxidation of propane
