A Multi Criteria Approach for Selecting Third Party Logistics Provider using Analytical Hierarchical Processing (AHP) - Insights from Edible Oil Industry
Edible oils constitute an important component of food expenditure in every household and thus a big market for the industry. As distribution is mainly dependent on third party logistics, there is an increasing need to analyse the complexity and make decisions pertaining to selecting a new third party logistics provider (3PL). The use of 3PL providers yield some benefits such as reduced logistics costs and fixed logistics assets, improved order fill rates and shortened average order-cycle lengths and cash-cash cycles. Logistics service provider selection is a complex multi – criteria decision making process; in which, decision makers have to deal with the optimization of conflicting objectives such as quality, cost, and delivery time.
In this context, this study proposes an evaluation framework and methodology for selecting a suitable 3PL provider using a multi criteria decision making technique - Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). The factors that were considered for the study are operational factors, service factors and financial factors in the outbound logistics of the edible oil industry. Four logistics providers were used in this study. The findings of this study provide insights to the logistics managers on the systematic evaluation in the selection of the logistics providers using both qualitative and quantitative factors as well as how to deal effectively when there are conflicting factors

An Improved Augmented Line Segment based Algorithm for the Generation of Rectilinear Steiner Minimum Tree
An improved Augmented Line Segment Based (ALSB) algorithm for the construction of Rectilinear Steiner Minimum Tree using augmented line segments is proposed. The proposed algorithm works by incrementally increasing the length of line segments drawn from all the points in four directions. The edges are incrementally added to the tree when two line segments intersect. The reduction in cost is obtained by postponing the addition of the edge into the tree when both the edges (upper and lower L-shaped layouts) are of same length or there is no overlap. The improvement is focused on reduction of the cost of the tree and the number of times the line segments are augmented. Instead of increasing the length of line segments by 1, the line segments length are doubled each time until they cross the intersection point between them. The proposed algorithm reduces the wire length and produces good reduction in the number of times the line segments are incremented. Rectilinear Steiner Minimum Tree has the main application in the global routing phase of VLSI design. The proposed improved ALSB algorithm efficiently constructs RSMT for the set of circuits in IBM benchmark
Ambiguous genitalia: a clinical and chromosomal study
Background: To correlate the findings of physical examination, ultrasonography and chromosomal analysis, so that to give proper advice to the concerned parents as early as possible in rearing up of the child as male or female according to the situation. Methods: The study is undertaken with forty cases with ages ranging from new borne to 20 yrs. Out of these 40 cases eight cases are below one year. In these cases physical examination is correlated with ultrasonography and chromosomal analysis. Results: In chromosomal analysis three persons out of forty cases were mosaics with 45, XO/46, twenty one cases who showed the chromosomal pattern as 46, XY mostly showed with no mullarian reminents. On examination palpable gonads were found in labio-scrotal sacs in seventeen cases. One of these cases was reared as girl found cytogenetically as 46, XY with the ultrasonographic impression as small uterus with no ovaries. Nineteen cases who with ambiguous genitalia showed the chromosomal pattern as 46, XX one out of these cases showed enlargement of the breast, and on examination of external genitalia found enlarged clitoris with labiamajora and minora. The child was brought up as male. Genitogram showed the absence of uterus. Conclusions: Chromosomal studies with ultrasonography can help in rearing a child male or female in young generation by surgical and Hormonal therapy. This prevents many problems in later life. This fact should be advertised openly in the public so that illiterate people should be alert.
Neraca Kehidupan Kutukebul Bemisia Tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) Pada Tanaman Cabai Dan Gulma Babadotan Pada Suhu 25 °C Dan 29 °C
Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) is an important pest on horticultural crops that can also become a vector of Geminivirus that transmit the yellow curl disease. B. tabaci can also attack weeds that grow around the field such as Ageratum conyzoides or goatweed. The objective of this research was to study the life cycle, life time, fecundity, and reproduction rate of B. tabaci on Chili pepper and goatweed. The experiment was conducted by observing the development of 50 eggs into adulthood. All 50 eggs were put on one plant and repeated 3 times. The plants were grown at temperatures 25 °C and 29 °C inside growth chamber (L : D = 12 : 12). The result of this experiments showed that at both temperatures of 25 °C and 29 °C, reproductive rate (R0), intrinsic rate of increase (r) and fecundity of B. tabaci were higher on goatweed than Chili pepper. This implies that the existence of goatweed around Chili pepper in the field can serve as a good alternative host for B. tabaci, hereby supporting the pest population even further
Komunikasi Antarpribadi Jarak Jauh antara Orangtua dan Anak (Studi pada Mahasiswa Universitas Riau yang Berasal dari Kabupaten Rokan Hulu)
Interpersonal communication between parentas and children is an important role in enhancing the self discipline of children as a person of character. When parents separate of distance with their children, thay have to communicate with their children whom is very difficult to controll them when children still lived with them. There are problems that caused by lack of parental supervision due to children cant control their deviant behavior.
