Innovation increasingly takes place through co-operation. Even more so in the case of social innovation, where profit and non-profit organisations collaborate to create solutions for societal issues. For these innovations to become successful, already early in the process it needs to be clear to the participating organisations that they will be able to gain value in return for their investments in the creation of the service proposition. This means that, together with the proposition, a business model needs to be designed, that provides insight in the feasibility and attractiveness of the total proposition, as well as in the value for the various participants separately. Building on existing methods, a 5-step approach was developed to support the process of refining the overall proposition together with the participating organisations, and at the same time checking the balance in value flow for each of them. Visie en roadmap stedelijke verlichting Eindhoven 2030 : onderzoeksrapportage - juli 2012

Gemeentes worden voor nieuwe uitdagingen gesteld door de opkomst van nieuwe technologieen voor openbare verlichting en smart cities aan de ene kant en beperkte overheidsmiddelen aan de andere kant. De gemeente Eindhoven heeft gekozen om een opdracht te verstrekken aan het Intelligent Lighting Institute van de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven tot het uitwerken van een visie en een roadmap voor stedelijke verlichting met als scope 2030. De roadmap zal worden gebruikt om beslissingen te nemen over stappen op korte termijn die verdere ontwikkelingen in de toekomst ook mogelijk zullen maken. Deze eindrapportage beschrijft de resultaten van het onderzoeksproject dat is uitgevoerd in het kader van het Interreg IVC project PLUS. Hierbij is allereerst gekeken naar de huidige situatie en het ambitieniveau van de gemeente. Vervolgens zijn middels de Future Telling onderzoeksmethode de belangrijkste drijvers voor verandering voor een leefbare stad geidentificeerd en uitgewerkt tot het gewenste scenario voor Eindhoven. In een roadmaponderzoek is daarna gekeken welke technologische ontwikkelingen en organisatorische veranderingen mogelijk en nodig zijn om het gewenste toekomstscenario te realiseren. De inzichten over de veranderingen op maatschappelijk, technisch en organisatorisch gebied leiden tot een innovatieplan. Hierin zijn de mogelijke stappen beschreven die in publiek-privatesamenwerking kunnen worden gezet op weg naar een leefbare stad Eindhoven in 2030
