    Sabun Padat Transparan Ekstrak Etanol Kayu Secang (Caesalpinia Sappan L.)

    Secang wood from the Caesalpiniacea tribe which was commonly found in Indonesia had secondary metabolites as antibacterial. This study aims to formulate secang wood ethanol extract into a transparent solid soap that is able to meet quality requirements. This research method was begin with formulating the extract into a transparent solid soap preparation with 3 concentrations, namely 5g (F1), 10g (F2), and 15g (F3). Furthermore, appearance tests, foaming ability, free alkali, free fatty acids, irritation, hedonic, and pH were carried out. The results of the research on transparent solid soap gave different colors for each concentration, namely transparent bright red (F1) and transparent dark red (F2 and F3) which were stable for 4 weeks; the foam power test shows a height of 4.5-6.5 cm after 10 minutes; free alkaline test shows a value of 0.07-0.08%; free fatty acid test 0.16%, and pH test 8.96-9.66 at week 4; and transparent solid soap does not cause irritation, attractive and liked by volunteer

    Tomat (Solanum lycopersicum L.) merupakan salah satu bahan pangan dengan kandungan antioksidan yang cukup tinggi yaitu likopen, polifenol dan vitamin C. Antioksidan dapat melindungi tubuh manusia memperbaiki kerusakan akibat senyawa oksigen reaktif dan radikal bebas lain. Senyawa oksigen reaktif yang memicu stres oksidatif di kulit dapat menyebabkan kanker, penuaan, peradangan, dan kerusakan sel-sel kulit, oleh karena itu tomat dapat digunakan untuk produk kebersihan dan kecantikan seperti sabun mandi. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk memformulasikan sari buah tomat dalam bentuk sediaan sabun padat menguji efektivitas dalam melembapkan kulit, dan menguji kualitas mutu sabun berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental, meliputi perolehan sampel, identifikasi sampel, pembuatan sari buah tomat dengan menggunakan juicer. Pembuatan sabun padat dimulai dari formula blanko (F0) dan penambahan konsentrasi simplisia 5% (F1), 10% (F2), dan 15% (F3). Pemeriksaan stabilitas fisik sediaan meliputi pengujian iritasi, dan hedonik terhadap sukarelawan, dan uji kelembapan kulit. Pemeriksaan kualitas sabun padat berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia yaitu pH, ketinggian busa, kadar alkali bebas dan asam lemak bebas. Hasil yang didapatkan ialah sari buah tomat dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan sabun padat yang tidak mengiritasi kulit sukarelawan. Sabun dengan konsentrasi eksfolian 15% (F3) memberikan efektivitas melembapkan kulit terbaik yaitu kadar air meningkat 40,80%. Sabun padat memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia yaitu: pH 9,61-9,83, busa yang stabil, kadar alkali bebas 0,08% serta asam lemak bebas 0,765%. Sediaan sabun padat yang mengandung sari buah tomat dengan konsentrasi 15% menunjukkan efektivitas dalam melembapkan kulit yang paling baik dan telah memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia

    Centong Cactus (Opuntia cochenilifera) is one of the plants used to treat health problems, but this is done based on hereditary experience. This plant contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. The purpose of this study was to see the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of Centong cactus (Opuntia cochenillifera) using alternative media of Kepok banana starch and Muller Hilton Agar Media. This study was conducted experimentally. Samples were extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol as solvent. Antibacterial activity was tested by disk diffusion method with paper backing technique. The parameters observed were zone of inhibition. Based on the result of the inhibition zone research, the best results were obtained on the banana starch media with a concentration of 40% 18,7mm and on Muller Hilton Agar media with a concentration of 40% 20,1mm. The antibacterial test result stated that the ethanolic extract of Centong cactus could provide an effective inhibition again Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. Antibacterial activity using Mullerr Hilton Agar media in order to have a larger zone of inhibition than using kapok banana starch

    FORMULASI KRIM ANTI-AGING EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN JELATANG (Urtica dioica L.) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN SARI LIDAH BUAYA (Aloe vera)

    Urtica dioica L. or what is known as nettle is a perennial plant from the Urticaceae family. The leaves contain various medically important organic compounds and have antioxidant potential, including flavonoids. Antioxidants can be further utilized for the development of anti-aging in the form of topical dosage forms in the form of creams because of their easy use. This study aims to formulate and test the anti-aging effectiveness of nettle leaf ethanol extract cream preparations with the addition of aloe vera juice and to find out whether a cream containing ethanolic extract of nettle leaf (Urtica dioica L.) with the addition of aloe vera juice is able to provide an Anti-Aging effect on the skin. The method used was the experimental method. Nettle leaf was extracted by maceration using 96% ethanol solvent and concentrated with a rotary evaporator at 40°C, then the extract was made into cream preparations with a concentration variation of 0.2% (F1); 0.3% (F2); 0.4% (F3) and 0.5% (F4) with the addition of aloe vera juice with a constant concentration of 3% in each formula. As blank (F0), the cream base was used without the addition of extract. Evaluation of cream preparations included organoleptic test, homogeneity, emulsion type test, pH, stability test, viscosity, irritation, and anti-aging effectiveness test using a skin analyzer. Observations were made for 28 days by applying cream preparations behind the volunteers' ears. Results Nettle leaf ethanol extract with the addition of aloe vera extract can be formulated in a homogeneous cream dosage form, with a pH of 6.30 – 6.69, a viscosity of 16250-26750 cps, stable in storage for 28 days, and does not irritate the skin of volunteers. The conclusion obtained is that nettle leaf ethanol extract with the addition of aloe vera juice can be formulated in the form of a cream dosage form and a concentration of 0.5% shows the best anti-aging effectiveness
