Digital Receiver-based Electronic Intelligence System Configuration for the Detection and Identification of Intrapulse Modulated Radar Signals

    Get PDF
An optimum electronic intelligence system configuration incorporating the state of the art technologies and achieving the highest parameter accuracies while processing the complex intrapulse modulated radar signals is presented in this paper. The system is based on the quad digital receiver, a state of the art single board solution for the detection and analysis of modern radar signals. The system consists of base line interferometry  configuration for high accuracy direction finding measurement with sector selection based on amplitude direction finding technique. Advanced signal processing algorithms with time frequency analysis are implemented in real time in field programmable gate array to extract all the basic as well as advanced parameters of frequency and phase modulations such as chirp, barker, and poly-phase (Frank, P1-P4) codes in addition to the pulse and continuous wave signals. The intercepted intrapulse modulated signal parameters have been extracted with very high accuracy and sensitivity.Defence Science Journal, 2014, 64(2), pp. 152-158. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.14429/dsj.64.509

Computational analysis of viscous dissipation and joule-heating effects on non-Darcy MHD natural convection flow from a horizontal cylinder in porous media with internal heat generation

    Get PDF
In the present paper we examine the effects of viscous dissipation, Joule heating and heat source/sink on non-Darcy MHD natural convection heat transfer flow over permeable horizontal circular cylinder in a porous medium. The boundary layer equations, which are parabolic in nature, are normalized into non-similar form and then solved numerically with the well-tested, efficient, implicit, stable Keller-box finite difference scheme. A parametric study illustrating the influence of Darcy parameter (Da), Forchheimer parameter (Λ), Grashof number(Gr), heat source/sink parameter (Ω) and viscous dissipation parameter (Ec) on the fluid velocity, temperature as well as local skin-friction and Nusselt numbers is conducted Increasing Forchheimer inertial drag parameter (Λ) retards the flow considerably but enhances temperatures. Increasing viscous dissipation parameter(Ec) is found to elevate velocities i.e. accelerate the flow and increase temperatures. Increasing heat source/sink parameter (Ω) is found to elevate velocities and increase temperatures. Increasing the Grashof number (Gr) is found to elevate the velocity and decrease the temperatures. Local skin friction number is found to be increases with increasing heat source/sink parameter (Ω) where as Local Nusselt number is found to decrease with increasing heat source/sink parameter (Ω)

Impact Of SCM Practices Of A Firm On Supply Chain Responsiveness And Competitive Advantage Of A Firm

    Get PDF
Today’s supply chains are expected to respond rapidly, effectively, and efficiently to changes in the marketplace to sustain, succeed and create competitive advantage in this increasingly global marketplace by focusing on time, flexibility, and speed of response. The focus of this study is the supply chain responsiveness construct and a firm’s practices to respond to customer’s demands and constantly changing market conditions to create competitive advantage. This research conceptualizes three dimensions of supply chain responsiveness and develops a reliable and valid instrument for measuring this construct. The study further tests the relationships between supply chain management (SCM) practices, supply chain responsiveness, and competitive advantage using structural equation modeling based on 294 responses from industry professionals in the manufacturing and supply chain area. Research findings point out that higher level of SCM practices can lead to improved supply chain responsiveness and enhanced competitive advantage of a firm. Also supply chain responsiveness can have a direct positive impact on competitive advantage of a firm

Proliferating trichilemmal tumour: a case report with review of literature

    Get PDF
Proliferating trichilemmal tumour is a solid-cystic neoplasm that shows trichilemmal differentiation similar to that of the isthmus of the hair follicle histologically characteristed by the presence of trichilemmal keratinization.  Proliferating Trichilemmal Tumour (PTT) appears mainly in elderly women and is in general a solitary lesion on the scalp. Proliferating trichilemmal tumours generally have a benign clinical course, and a clinical differentiation from squamous cell carcinoma is often difficult. We report a case of PTT in a 30 year old man presenting as a solitary 10x8 cm ulcerated nodule on the scalp since 3 months clinically resembled a malignant tumour. The therapeutic approach is surgical removal with a wide clear margin

Implementation of Interpolation algorithm in FPGA for Fine Frequency Accuracy

Abstract-In today EW scenario the Radar features are getting advanced day by day. To intercept and analyse signals coming from such Radar, ESM receivers also should have modern and advanced features and techniques. There are many ESM Receivers developed/being developed based on Analog and Digital techniques to measure the intercepted Radar signal parameters. Frequency of the signal is one of the important basic parameter measured by ESM Receiver. Better frequency resolution and accuracy are desirable specifications of the receiver. Systems based on Digital Receiver are sampled signal systems. By means of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm, Frequencies of intercepted signals can be estimated from their locations in the discrete spectrum with a resolution depending on the number of points of FFT. But computational or other limitations often restrict the number of points, which correspondingly restricts the resolution of the estimate provided by the FFT. This paper brings out implementation of interpolation algorithm in FPGA for fine Frequency accuracy without increasing the FFT size
