    Angiographic exploration of male impotence

    No full text
Selective pudendal arteriography is indicated in specific cases of male impotence when arterial lesions are presumed to be responsible. The examination is performed under general anaesthesia by catheterisation of both hypogastric arteries using the right femoral approach. One film/sec is taken in oblique projection for 20 sec starting at the end of an injection of 30 ml of contrast media which was injected at the rate of 3 ml/sec. This paper reports the results of a series of 18 patients (age 23-57). The arterial pattern was normal in 6 patients and arterio-sclerotic lesions were found in 9 cases. In the 3 remaining cases 1 was aplasia of both cavernous arteries, 1 a case of thromboangiitis and 1 a case of diabetic arteritis. No complication occurred after the examinations. Selective arteriography can establish the diagnosis and indicate the nature of the obstruction, its degree and extention.SCOPUS: NotDefined.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

We studied 300 pregnancies in which we found 23 multiple pregnancies. Among those, only 3 progressed normally to term as normal twin pregnancies. A fetus was lost in each of the remaining 20 pregnancies. The presence of hemorrhage is discussed.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

The Internet has experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and has currently many resources in the field of medicine. However, many physicians remain unaware of how to gain access to this powerful tool. This article briefly describes the World Wide Web and its potential applications for physicians. The basics of web search engines and medical directories, as well as the use of advanced search with boolean operators are explained.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

LA SCINTIGRAPHIE HEPATOSPLENIQUE DANS LES TUMEURS DU FOIE CHEZ L'ENFANT

The performance of 250 liver and spleen scintigraphs resulted in the detection of 15 liver tumors in children. This work illustrates 8 especially demonstrative cases. The tracer applied was exclusively technetium colloides sulfur. Experience has shown the accuracy of this method to be comparable with that of coeliac arteriography. However, the dimensions and the nature of the tumor, as well as the blood supply, can only be well established via the latter method. The liver scans appears to be the most useful technique in the follow up of treated cases, in that it is a nonaggressive technique which is easily performed and especially adaptable for the child.SCOPUS: NotDefined.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
