Universal sextic effective interaction at criticality

The renormalization group approach in three dimensions is used to estimate the universal critical value g_6^* of the dimensionless sextic effective coupling constant for the Ising model. The four-loop RG expansion for g_6 is calculated and resummed by means of the Pade-Borel and Pade-Borel-Leroy procedures resulting in g_6^* = 1.596, while the most accurate estimate for g_6^* is argued to be equal to 1.61.Comment: 6 pages, TeX, no figure

Energy State of a Plastically Deformed Surface Layer

AbstractThe paper reports the results of experimental research on the substantiation of the criterion for steel strengthening effectiveness established on a basis of an energetic approach to the consideration of the mechanism for the surface layer formation with dynamic methods of plastic forming. Using the analogy between the processes of energy absorption of the crystal lattice under mechanical loading and under heating, the work demonstrates that the maximum specific energy which can absorb the crystal lattice corresponds to the value equal to the difference between the heat content (enthalpy) of the material in the solid state, at the melting temperature and enthalpy H_TS at 2930К. The proposed method and experimental device allowing to estimate the stored energy in the plastically deformed surface layer as the difference between the work expended in plastic deformation of the material and the quantity of the released heat. It was established that the energy growth limit in the local plastically deformed volume of a surface occurs at making of 11-13 acts of the action force; the further increase in acts influences the energy state of the surface as it becomes stabilized

Exciton Lines in Luminescence Spectra of NixZn1-xO under Inner Shell Excitation

AbstractThe paper presents the results of the study of two narrow luminescence lines I1 and I2 at the energies of 3.339 and 3.393eV respectively in NiO and solid state solution Ni0.6Zn0.4O. The luminescence spectroscopy with a sub-nanosecond time resolution upon selective photoexcitation in the energy range of absorption of the inner shells Zn M- and Ni L2,3- edges of Zn- and Ni- ions was used to promote proposed earlier mechanism of origin of luminescence lines I1 and I2. Photoluminescence decay kinetics of NiO and solid state solution Ni0.6Zn0.4O under soft x-ray excitation are discussed. The doublet of I1 and I2 lines is believed to arise due to the radiative annihilation of p-d excitons

Electron transport in a quasi-one dimensional channel on suspended helium films

Quasi-one dimensional electron systems have been created using a suspended helium film on a structured substrate. The electron mobility along the channel is calculated by taking into account the essential scattering processes of electrons by helium atoms in the vapor phase, ripplons, and surface defects of the film substrate. It is shown that the last scattering mechanism may dominate the electron mobility in the low temperature limit changing drastically the temperature dependence of the mobility in comparison with that controlled by the electron-ripplon scattering.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

Isotropy Properties of the Multi-Step Markov Symbolic Sequences

A new object of the probability theory, the two-sided chain of symbols (introduced in Ref. arXiv:physics/0306170) is used to study isotropy properties of binary multi-step Markov chains with the long-range correlations. Established statistical correspondence between the Markov chains and certain two-sided sequences allows us to prove the isotropy properties of three classes of the Markov chains. One of them is the important class of weakly correlated additive Markov chains, which turned out to be equivalent to the additive two-sided sequences.Comment: 7 page

Reducing nonideal to ideal coupling in random matrix description of chaotic scattering: Application to the time-delay problem

We write explicitly a transformation of the scattering phases reducing the problem of quantum chaotic scattering for systems with M statistically equivalent channels at nonideal coupling to that for ideal coupling. Unfolding the phases by their local density leads to universality of their local fluctuations for large M. A relation between the partial time delays and diagonal matrix elements of the Wigner-Smith matrix is revealed for ideal coupling. This helped us in deriving the joint probability distribution of partial time delays and the distribution of the Wigner time delay.Comment: 4 pages, revtex, no figures; published versio

An optoelectronic device for measurements of small angular displacements based on a diffraction of a laser beam on a deep reflective phasetype grating was suggested and investigated. The grating's depth is about several wavelengths. The zero diffraction order's power dependency on the incident angle of a laser beam was investigated theoretically and experimentally. There were found conditions when linear conversion of angular vibrations into changes of power of zero order took place. The experimentally measured sensitivity of the device was rad with channel bandwidth of 800 Hz and signal-to-noise ratio 10.ΠŸΡ€Π΅Π΄Π»ΠΎΠΆΠ΅Π½ ΠΈ исслСдован оптоэлСктронный Π΄Π°Ρ‚Ρ‡ΠΈΠΊ ΠΌΠ°Π»Ρ‹Ρ… ΡƒΠ³Π»ΠΎΠ²Ρ‹Ρ… Microvesicles are a new field of biological research. They are subcellular structures ranging in size from 100 to 1000 nm and found in practically all human biological fluids. Their sources are different cells. Microvesicles have a diverse internal composition and carry a wide spectrum of molecules on their surface, which determines their participation in physiological and pathological processes. Their assumed role of biological markers of diseases has aroused great interest. At the present time, there is a lot of data in the world literature about microvesicles of platelets and endothelial cells, and there is practically no data about microvesicles of leukocytes. In this regard, the purpose of the given review was to summarize the data about microvesicles of leukocytes. The review presents data about source cells, internal and superficial composition of leukocytes’ microvesicles, their interaction with various cells, and involvement in physiological and pathological processes. Further study of microvesicles will make it possible to clarify their role in normal and pathological conditions, the possibility of using them as vectors of diseases and carriers of various biologically active molecules.ΠœΠΈΠΊΡ€ΠΎΠ²Π΅Π·ΠΈΠΊΡƒΠ»Ρ‹ ― Π½ΠΎΠ²Ρ‹ΠΉ ΠΎΠ±ΡŠΠ΅ΠΊΡ‚ биологичСских исслСдований.
