This paper reveals theoretical and methodological grounds for adopting an axiological approach in vocational training of air force officers, whose study should be started with consideration of the "value" and "value orientation" concepts. This study provides a rationale for an axiological characteristic of the military education that comprises three interconnected value components: national, social, and personal. Discovered are the key aspects of of the moral and psychological state (such as militaryprofessional, military-moral and militarypolitical) that provide psychological readiness, psychological attitude ofa cadet, officer, military personnel to perform combat training tasks.

SAW RFID devices using connected IDTs as an alternative to conventional reflectors for harsh environments

International audienceRemote interrogation of surface acoustic wave ID-tags imposes a high signal amplitude which is related to a high coupling coefficient value (K 2) and low propagation losses (α). In this paper, we propose and discuss an alternative configuration to the standard one. Here, we replaced the conventional configuration, i.e. one interdigital transducer (IDT) and several reflectors, by a series of electrically connected IDTs. The goal is to increase the amplitude of the detected signal using direct transmission between IDTs instead of the reflection from passive reflectors. This concept can therefore increase the interrogation scope of ID-tags made on conventional substrate with high K 2 value. Moreover, it can also be extended to suitable substrates for harsh environments such as high temperature environments: the materials used exhibit limited performances (low K 2 value and relatively high propagation losses) and are therefore rarely used for identification applications. The concept was first tested and validated using the lithium niobate 128°Y-X cut substrate, which is commonly used in ID-tags. A good agreement between experimental and numerical results was obtained for the promising concept of connected IDTs. The interesting features of the structure were also validated using a langasite substrate, which is well-known to operate at very high temperatures. Performances of both substrates (lithium niobate and langasite) were tested with an in-situ RF characterization up to 600°C. Unexpected results regarding the resilience of devices based on congruent lithium niobate were obtained. Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy in Diffuse Thickened Esophageal Wall in an Adolescent

Achalasia is an extremely rare pathology in children. Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is the gold standard for the surgical treatment of achalasia in adults, but only a limited number of cases of achalasia treatment using POEM in children have been published in the literature. Sometimes, high-resolution manometry signs of achalasia can mimic diffuse esophageal leiomyoma. This case report represents the first known successful performance of POEM on a 15-year-old female with diffuse thickening of the esophagus with signs and symptoms of achalasia and suspicion for Alport syndrome associated with diffuse esophageal leiomyoma

Constraints on the χ_(c1) versus χ_(c2) polarizations in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV

The polarizations of promptly produced χ_(c1) and χ_(c2) mesons are studied using data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, in proton-proton collisions at √s=8  TeV. The χ_c states are reconstructed via their radiative decays χ_c → J/ψγ, with the photons being measured through conversions to e⁺e⁻, which allows the two states to be well resolved. The polarizations are measured in the helicity frame, through the analysis of the χ_(c2) to χ_(c1) yield ratio as a function of the polar or azimuthal angle of the positive muon emitted in the J/ψ → μ⁺μ⁻ decay, in three bins of J/ψ transverse momentum. While no differences are seen between the two states in terms of azimuthal decay angle distributions, they are observed to have significantly different polar anisotropies. The measurement favors a scenario where at least one of the two states is strongly polarized along the helicity quantization axis, in agreement with nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics predictions. This is the first measurement of significantly polarized quarkonia produced at high transverse momentum
