    The extended BLMSSM with a 125 GeV Higgs boson and dark matter

    To extend the BLMSSM, we not only add exotic Higgs superfields (ΦNL,φNL)(\Phi_{NL},\varphi_{NL}) to make the exotic lepton heavy, but also introduce the superfields(YY,Y′Y^\prime) having couplings with lepton and exotic lepton at tree level. The obtained model is called as EBLMSSM, which has difference from BLMSSM especially for the exotic slepton(lepton) and exotic sneutrino(neutrino). We deduce the mass matrices and the needed couplings in this model. To confine the parameter space, the Higgs boson mass mh0m_{h^0} and the processes h0→γγh^0\rightarrow \gamma\gamma, h0→VV,V=(Z,W)h^0\rightarrow VV, V=(Z,W) are studied in the EBLMSSM. With the assumed parameter space, we obtain reasonable numerical results according to data on Higgs from ATLAS and CMS. As a cold dark mater candidate, the relic density for the lightest mass eigenstate of YY and Y′Y' mixing is also studied

    Discovery of An Active Intermediate-Mass Black Hole Candidate in the Barred Bulgeless Galaxy NGC 3319

    We report the discovery of an active intermediate-mass black hole (IMBH) candidate in the center of nearby barred bulgeless galaxy NGC 3319\rm NGC~3319. The point X-ray source revealed by archival Chandra and XMM-Newton observations is spatially coincident with the optical and UV galactic nuclei from Hubble Space Telescope observations. The spectral energy distribution derived from the unresolved X-ray and UV-optical flux is comparable with active galactic nuclei (AGNs) rather than ultra-luminous X-ray sources, although its bolometric luminosity is only 3.6×1040 erg s−13.6\times10^{40}~\rm erg~s^{-1}. Assuming an Eddington ratio range between 0.001 and 1, the black hole mass (M_\rm{BH}) will be located at 3×102−3×105 M⊙3\times10^2-3\times10^5~M_{\odot}, placing it in the so-called IMBH regime and could be the one of the lowest reported so far. Estimates from other approaches (e.g., fundamental plane, X-ray variability) also suggest M_\rm{BH}\lesssim10^5~M_{\odot}.Similar to other BHs in bulgeless galaxies, the discovered IMBH resides in a nuclear star cluster with mass of ∼6×106 M⊙\sim6\times10^6~M_{\odot}. The detection of such a low-mass BH offers us an ideal chance to study the formation and early growth of SMBH seeds, which may result from the bar-driven inflow in late-type galaxies with a prominent bar such as NGC 3319\rm NGC~3319.Comment: ApJ accepted, 2 tables, 6 figure

    Optical loss compensation in a bulk left-handed metamaterial by the gain in quantum dots

    A bulk left-handed metamaterial with fishnet structure is investigated to show the optical loss compensation via surface plasmon amplification, with the assistance of a Gaussian gain in PbS quantum dots. The optical resonance enhancement around 200 THz is confirmed by the retrieval method. By exploring the dependence of propagation loss on the gain coefficient and metamaterial thickness, we verify numerically that the left-handed response can endure a large propagation thickness with ultralow and stable loss under a certain gain coefficient.Comment: 6 pages with 4 figure

    Janus monolayer ScXY (X≠\neqY=Cl, Br and I) for piezoelectric and valleytronic application: a first-principle prediction

    Coexistence of ferromagnetism, piezoelectricity and valley in two-dimensional (2D) materials is crucial to advance multifunctional electronic technologies. Here, Janus ScXY (X≠\neqY=Cl, Br and I) monolayers are predicted to be in-plane piezoelectric ferromagnetic (FM) semiconductors with dynamical, mechanical and thermal stabilities. The predicted piezoelectric strain coefficients d11d_{11} and d31d_{31} (absolute values) are higher than ones of most 2D materials. Moreover, the d31d_{31} (absolute value) of ScClI reaches up to 1.14 pm/V, which is highly desirable for ultrathin piezoelectric device application. To obtain spontaneous valley polarization, charge doping are explored to tune the direction of magnetization of ScXY. By appropriate hole doping, their easy magnetization axis can change from in-plane to out-of-plane, resulting in spontaneous valley polarization. Taking ScBrI with 0.20 holes per f.u. as a example, under the action of an in-plane electric field, the hole carriers of K valley turn towards one edge of the sample, which will produce anomalous valley Hall effect (AVHE), and the hole carriers of Γ\Gamma valley move in a straight line.     Resonance amplification of left-handed transmission at optical frequencies by stimulated emission of radiation in active metamaterials

    We demonstrate that left-handed resonance transmission from metallic metamaterial, composed of periodically arranged double rings, can be extended to visible spectrum by introducing an active medium layer as the substrate. The severe ohmic loss inside metals at optical frequencies is compensated by stimulated emission of radiation in this active system. Due to the resonance amplification mechanism of recently proposed lasing spaser, the left-handed transmission band can be restored up to 610 nm wavelength, in dependence on the gain coefficient of the active layer. Additionally, threshold gains for different scaling levels of the double-ring unit are investigated to evaluate the gain requirement of left-handed transmission restoration at different frequency ranges.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figure

    Light neutralino dark matter in U(1)XU(1)_XSSM

    The U(1)XU(1)_X extension of the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM) is called as U(1)XU(1)_XSSM with the local gauge group SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y×U(1)XSU(3)_C\times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y \times U(1)_X. U(1)XU(1)_XSSM has three singlet Higgs superfields beyond MSSM. In U(1)XU(1)_XSSM, the mass matrix of neutralino is 8×88\times8, whose lightest mass eigenstate possesses cold dark matter characteristic. Supposing the lightest neutralino as dark matter candidate, we study the relic density. For dark matter scattering off nucleus, the cross sections including spin-independent and spin-dependent are both researched. In our numerical results, some parameter space can satisfy the constraints from the relic density and the experiments of dark matter direct detection.Comment: 23 pages, 9 figure

    Enhanced sensing performance by the plasmonic analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency in active metamaterials

    The gain-assisted plasmonic analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in a metallic metamaterial is investigated for the purpose to enhance the sensing performance of the EIT-like plasmonic structure. The structure is composed of three bars in one unit, two of which are parallel to each other (dark quadrupolar element) but perpendicular to the third bar (bright dipolar element), The results show that, in addition to the high sensitivity to the refractive-index fluctuation of the surrounding medium, the figure of merit for such active EIT-like metamaterials can be greatly enhanced, which is attributed to the amplified narrow transparency peak

    Kualitas udara dalam ruang merupakan sebuah interaksi yang dapat berubah baiksecara konstan mau pun tidak yang diakibatkan oleh beberapa faktor yangmempengaruhi baik dari lingkungan luar mau pun lingkungan dalam. Salah saturuangan yang berpotensi tinggi untuk mengalami masalah polusi udara dalam ruangadalah ruang perpustakaan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kondisi lingkungan eksternalseperti debu yang terbawa angin dan kondisi internal yaitu bakteri yang terbawa padabuku-buku lama yang dihirup oleh pelaku aktifitas perpustakaan. Dari faktor eksternal,salah satu penyebabnya ialah debu, tanah, dan polutan yang terbawa di udara masuk kedalam ruang perpustakaan. Pengoperasian sistem ventilasi bangunan berperan pentingdalam membawa udara masuk ke dalam ruangan. Salah satu strategi yang telahdisebutkan ialah penggunaan filter. Filter pada ventilasi berfungsi sebagai penyerappolusi yang terbawa angin luar masuk ke ruang dalam. Terdapat beberapa cara untukfiltrasi pada bangunan salah satunya adalah taman vertikal. Diharapkan penggunaankombinasi taman vertikal dan ventilasi dapat menjadi sumber penghawaan alami yangtetap memperhatikan kualitas udara dalam pada perpustakaan agar masalah buruknyakualitas udara ruang dalam pada perpustakaan dapat direduksi
