A class of Heisenberg models with the orthogonal dimer ground states
Extensions of the Shastry-Sutherland model are possible in various ways. In
particular, it is possible to construct a natural model in three dimensions
which has the exact dimer ground state. Recently found spin gap system
SrCu_2(BO_3)_2 has this structure. The exchange constants between the layers is
expected to be smaller than the intra-layer couplings. However, the exactness
of the dimer state for the three dimensional structure is important to
understand why magnetic properties of SrCu_2(BO_3)_2 are described well by the
two dimensional model.Comment: 3 pages, 5 figures, to appear in Journal of Physics: Condensed Matte
Perception of Community Health Workers in Indonesia Toward Patients with Mental Disorders
In Indonesia, there are any community health volunteers called Kader. Although Kaders are members of mental health volunteer, they sometimes show negative attitude to psychotic persons, even they have already got some training about mental health. The aims of this study were to investigate 1) how is Kader's perception compare to the other countries, 2) how will they consult compare to the other countries 3) how is comparison of Kaders' perception to mental disorder person between trained and untrained. The method of this research is a descriptive explorative using survey study. This study was held on June to September 2013. It was conducted in five districts of Yogyakarta area with 619 respondents. The Questionnaires used contained three sections are follows; Part A is about Demographic Data, Part B two case vignettes (taken from MacArthur Health Module of the 1996 general Social Survey) and Part C about Kaders experiences. The perception of Kader as part of the community is lower than the general residence in the United States and Japan. The comparison between trained and untrained Kaders shown that trained Kaders has better perception toward patient with mental disorder. These results suggest that actual experiences in meeting the cases contributed to the improvement of Kaders' perception better than the previous mental health training did. It might be Kaders with short experience are explored information Kaders should be trained with more structured curriculum and recruiting Kader is recommended to recruit the young generation
Double- Order in a Frustrated Random Spin System
We use the three-dimensional Heisenberg model with site randomness as an
effective model of the compound Sr(FeMn)O. The model consists
of two types of ions that correspond to Fe and Mn ions. The nearest-neighbor
interactions in the ab-plane are antiferromagnetic. The nearest-neighbor
interactions along the c-axis between Fe ions are assumed to be
antiferromagnetic, whereas other interactions are assumed to be ferromagnetic.
From Monte Carlo simulations, we confirm the existence of the
double- ordered phase characterized by two wave numbers,
and . We also identify the spin ordering pattern in
the double- ordered phase.Comment: 5pages, 3figure
Strong damping of phononic heat current by magnetic excitations in SrCu_2(BO_3)_2
Measurements of the thermal conductivity as a function of temperature and
magnetic field in the 2D dimer spin system SrCu(BO) are presented.
In zero magnetic field the thermal conductivity along and perpendicular to the
magnetic planes shows a pronounced double-peak structure as a function of
temperature. The low-temperature maximum is drastically suppressed with
increasing magnetic field. Our quantitative analysis reveals that the heat
current is due to phonons and that the double-peak structure arises from
pronounced resonant scattering of phonons by magnetic excitations.Comment: a bit more than 4 pages, 2 figures included; minor changes to improve

Instability of isolated triplet excitations on the Shastry-Sutherland lattice (SSL)
Configurations of singlets and triplets on the SSL have been proposed in the
literature as variational ground states of the Shastry-Sutherland model at
fixed magnetization M. We prove, that isolated triplet excitations on the SSL
are unstable if the coupling alpha falls below a critical value alpha_c=2.0
(approx.). The instability should be visible in the compound SrCu_2(BO_3)_2
where a coupling alpha^*=1.48 is realized.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, RevTe
S wave superconductivity in newly discovered superconductor BaTiSbO revealed by Sb-NMR/Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance measurements
We report the Sb-NMR/nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR)
measurements on the newly-discovered superconductor BaTiSbO with a
two-dimensional TiO square-net layer formed with Ti (3). NQR
measurements revealed that the in-plane four-fold symmetry is broken at the Sb
site below 40 K, without an internal field appearing at the Sb
site. These exclude a spin-density wave (SDW)/ charge density wave (CDW)
ordering with incommensurate correlations, but can be understood with the
commensurate CDW ordering at . The spin-lattice relaxation rate
, measured at the four-fold symmetry breaking site, decreases below
superconducting (SC) transition temperature , indicative of the
microscopic coexistence of superconductivity and the CDW/SDW phase below
. Furthermore, of Sb-NQR shows a coherence peak just
below and decreases exponentially at low temperatures. These
results are in sharp contrast with those in cuprate and iron-based
superconductors, and strongly suggest that its SC symmetry is classified to an
ordinary s-wave state.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure
Far infrared study of the two dimensional dimer spin system SrCu_2(BO_3)_2
Using far-infrared spectroscopy in magnetic fields up to 12T we have studied
a two-dimensional dimer spin gap system SrCu_2(BO_3)_2. We found several
infrared active modes in the dimerized state (below 10K) in the frequency range
from 3 to 100cm^-1. The measured splitting from the ground state to the excited
triplet M_S=0 sublevel is Delta_1=24.2cm^-1 and the other two triplet state
sublevels in zero magnetic field are 1.4cm^-1 below and above the M_S=0
sublevel. Another multiplet is at Delta_2=37.6cm^-1 from the ground state. A
strong electric dipole active transition polarized in the (ab)-plane is
activated in the dimer spin system below 15K at 52cm^-1.Comment: 4 pages including 5 figures, submitted to PRB, instrumental arte
