    Peran Pendidikan dalam Proses Peacebuilding di Sierra Leone

    Abstract, This paper intends to describe the conflict that occurred in Sierra Leone which resulted in the Complex Political Emergency (CPE) condition and the role of education in the peacebuilding process in Sierra Leone. This condition has reduced the Human Development Index in the country. In order to raise the Human Development Index in Sierra Leone, the conflict must end immediately. One of the ways to end the conflict is by doing peacebuilding. The peacebuilding process can be done through education. In addition, by increasing access to education or rebuilding the education system. The five roles of education in the peacebuilding process, namely: first, skills training that offers a new way of life apart from violence. Second, education protects children. Quality education will provide physical, psychosocial, and cognitive protection for children. Third, education helps rebuild 'normality' and self-confidence. Fourth, education helps restore social capital that has been lost and damaged by prolonged conflict. Fifth, education contributes to social transformation. Through the literature study method, this paper found that educational interventions in Sierra Leone have a positive impact on the peacebuilding process. Keywords: conflict, role of education, peacebuilding Abstrak, Tulisan ini bermaksud untuk menggambarkan konflik yang terjadi di Sierra Leone yang melahirkan kondisi Complex Political Emergencies (CPE) dan bagaimana peran pendidikan dalam proses peacebuilding di Sierra Leone. Di mana kondisi ini telah menurunkan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia di Negara tersebut. Untuk dapat meningkatkan Indeks Pembangunana Manusia di Sierra Leone maka konflik harus segera diakhir. Salah satu cara untuk mengakhiri konflik adalah dengan melakukan peacebuilding. Proses peacebuilding dapat dilakukan melalui pendidikan. Selain itu, dengan meningkatkan akses pendidikan atau membangun kembali sistem pendidikan. Lima peran pendidikan dalam proses peacebuilding, yaitu: pertama, pelatihan ketrampilan yang menawarkan jalan kehidupan baru selain kekerasan. Kedua, pendidikan melindungi anak-anak. kualitas pendidikan akan memberikan perlindungan fisikal, psikososial, dan juga kognitif bagi anak-anak. Ketiga, pendidikan membantu membangun kembali ‘normalitas’ dan kepercayaan diri. Keempat, pendidikan membantu untuk memperbaiki modal sosial yang hilang dan rusak akibat konflik yang berkepanjangan. Kelima, pendidikan berkontribusi pada transformasi sosial. Melalui metode studi kepustakaan, tulisan ini menemukan bahwa intervensi pendidikan di Sierra Leone memberikan dampak positif terhadap proses peacebuilding. Kata kunci: konflik, peran pendidikan, pembangunan perdamaia

    This research is done based on the point of view of the researcher in viewing the limited access of college education for students with disabilities. In line to the social model of disability, researcher views that the limited access caused by environment and social system which is not able in accommodating the needs of students with disabilities. As a consequence of the condition, students with disabilities do not have space and chance to actualize themselves. The limited access is also caused by the stereotypes which put them to the social exclusion. Social exclusion can be minimized by applying the concept of inclusivity. The presence of inclusivity concept in the education world gives the new light to the students with disabilities in accessing education. But, this education concept has not applied yet in the college. This research is due to initiate Universitas Brawijaya becomes the pioneer and the model of the first inclusive campus in Indonesia.The method of research used in this research is qualitative method with the action research approach. The focuses of this research are, first, the process of policy advocacy to the inclusive campus to the students with disabilities in Universitas Brawijaya. Second, the policy formulation process of inclusive campus to the students with disabilities. Third, is the effect of inclusive campus to the students with disabilities in Universitas Brawijaya. The location of this research is in Universitas Brawijaya, Malang. The method of collecting data uses observation, interview, and documentation.The conclusions obtained from this research are, first, advocacy done by advocacy team and researcher achieved the expected goal successfully. Second, Universitas Brawijaya accepted the grand design of inclusive campus offered by the advocacy team. Third, Universitas Brawijaya built Center for Disability Studies and Services (CDSS) which was known as the new institution focusing on the services and studies related to the disabilities issues. Fourth, Universitas Brawijaya opened the Special Selection Program to the Students with Disabilities (SSPSD) and serves 20 quotas for students with disabilities

    The reseach aims to identify necessities of students with disability post-Senior High School, either in inclusive school or special school. The purpose of this research is to describe the necessities of student with disability post-Senior High School. Therefore, students's planning post-Senior High School will be the priority in this research. The reseach used a qualitative method. The focuses of this research are, first, history of Special School. Second, the sight of special schol towards inclusive education. Third, identification of ideal school for students with disability. Fourth, identification of students's planning post-Senior Hgh School. The locations of this research are, first, SLB Negeri Semarang (Public Special School of Semarang). Second, SLB YPTB Malang (YPTB Special School), Third, Universitas Brawijaya (Brawijaya University). The method of collecting data in this research uses observation, interview, and documentation. The conclusions obtained from this research are, first, both of special school in this research have not special program to equip the students post-Senior High School. Second, 67,85% of students with disability planned to seek ajob post-Senior High School. Third, 42,85% of students with disability estimate themselves having the opportunity to carry on their education in University, but that is not their priority

    Persons with disabilities’ financial literacy and access to financial services

    Penyandang disabilitas seringkali mengalami kesulitan dalam mengakses layanan jasa keuangan, padahal kelompok masyarakat ini rentan terhadap kemiskinan. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh minimnya literasi keuangan dan layanan jasa keuangan yang tidak dapat diakses, baik secara infrastruktur ataupun aturan-aturan sistem keuangan. Untuk itu, studi ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan sejauh mana kemampuan literasi keuangan penyandang disabilitas dan aksesibilitas lembaga jasa keuangan, di mana keduanya merupakan aspek penting dalam keuangan inklusif.  Dengan menggunakan metode Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dan survei, penelitian ini secara holistik akan menyajikan analisa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif tentang literasi keuangan dan keterjangkauan penyandang disabilitas terhadap layanan jasa keuangan.  FGD dan survei dilakukan di tiga kota di Provinsi Jawa Timur, yaitu: Kota Surabaya, Malang, dan Mojokerto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi keuangan penyandang disabilitas, yang ditunjukkan dengan kemampuan membuat perencanaan keuangan, masih sangat rendah. Selain itu, aksesibilitas infrastruktur dan persyaratan jasa keuangan juga belum ramah terhadap penyandang disabilitas sehingga para penyandang disabilitas tersebut enggan untuk menggunakan jasa keuangan.Persons with disabilities often face various obstacles in accessing financial services. This condition is caused by the lack of financial literacy and the inaccessibility of financial service institutions, both in infrastructure and financial system rules. For this reason, this study aims to explore the financial literacy of persons with disabilities and the accessibility of financial service institutions. Using the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and survey methods, this study presents quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis on financial literacy and accessibility of persons with disabilities to financial services. FGDs and surveys were conducted in three cities in East Java Province, namely Surabaya, Malang, and Mojokerto. The results show that the financial literacy of persons with disabilities, as indicated by their abilities to make financial planning, is still very low. In addition, infrastructure accessibility and financial service requirements are inaccessible for persons with disabilities, so that they are reluctant to access the financial services

    Inclusive Human Resource Management Practice to Change The Organizational Climate

    This study aims to describe and analyze the organizational climate change process in Mandiri Contact Center (MCC) Yogyakarta which employs people with disabilities since the implementation of the Mandiri Kriya Difabel Program. A qualitative method with an instrumental case study approach is used in this study. To collect the data, the researcher uses interview, observation and documentation study technique. The results show that by implementing an inclusive human resource management, the Mandiri Kriya Difabel Program has succeeded to change an exclusive organizational climate into an inclusive disability organizational climate. This is the first study which combines Lewin's Three Step Change Model, Social Model of Disability, and Inclusive Dimensions on Organizational Climate as a framework to research a disability inclusive organizational climate change. This research provides an inclusive method to manage employees with disabilities and a new academic reference on organizational change study

    BANK SAMPAH BERKAH : SUMBER PENDAPATAN ALTERNATIF MASYARAKAT DI KELURAHAN TUGU SELATAN, KECAMATAN KOJA, JAKARTA UTARA

    AbstrakBank sampah adalah program yang dibuat untuk mengurangi jumlah sampah yang setiap hari semakin bertambah. Salah satu program Bank Sampah tersebut yaitu program Bank Sampah Berkah yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Tugu Selatan. Program tersebut dibuat berdasarkan peraturan Gubernur no 77 tahun 2020 yaitu tentang pengelolaan sampah lingkup Rukun Warga dalam peraturan ini setiap kelurahan di DKI JAKARTA wajib mempunyai bank sampah. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dipakai dalam penelitian ini melalui metode mengumpulkan data berupa wawawancara terstruktur dan semisterstruktur serta dokumentasi dan observasi. Terdapat  sembilan belas Informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Kepala Kelurahan Tugu Selatan, ASN Tugu Selatan, petugas PPSU sebagai pengurus Bank Sampah Berkah dan nasabah BSB. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa program Bank Sampah Berkah dapat memberdayakan masyarakat dengan membeli komoditas kecil yaitu berupa kebutuhan pokok atau kebutuhan sehari-hari dan komoditas besar yaitu dapat membeli pakaian, membayar uang sekolah dan membeli di luar kebutuhan pokok. Hasil lainnya penelitian lainnya menunjukan bahwa Bank Sampah Berkah bisa membuat lingkungan para nasabah menjadi bersih karena sampah-sampah yang ada dikumpulkan untuk di tabung.Kata Kunci : Bank Sampah, Program, Pemberdayaan Abstract The waste bank is a program created to reduce the amount of waste that is increasing every day. One of the Waste Bank programs is the Blessing Waste Bank program located in Tugu Selatan Village. The program was created based on Governor's Regulation No. 77 of 2020, namely regarding waste management within the Rukun Warga. In this regulation, every urban village in DKI JAKARTA is required to have a waste bank.Qualitative descriptive method used in this study through data collection methods in the form of structured and semi-structured interviews as well as documentation and observation. There were nineteen informants in this study, namely the Head of the South Tugu Village, South Tugu ASN, PPSU officers as administrators of the Blessing Waste Bank and BSB customers. The results showed that the Blessing Waste Bank program could empower the community by buying small commodities, namely in the form of basic needs or daily needs and large commodities, namely being able to buy clothes, pay school fees and buy non-basic needs. Other results of other studies show that the Berkah Waste Bank can make the customer's environment clean because the existing waste is collected for the tube.Keywords: Waste Bank, Program, Empowermen

    Pelatihan dan Edukasi Penggunaan Aplikasi Breast Self Examination Sytem untuk Deteksi Dini terhadap Terjadinya Kanker Payudara di Puskesmas Tanjung Priok Pengalaman Peserta dalam Melakukan SADARI

    ABSTRAK Kematian yang disebabkan oleh kanker payudara menduduki urutan kedua di antara jenis kanker lainnya. Perempuan memiliki risiko yang sangat besar untuk terjangkit kanker payudara. Penanganan kasus kanker payudara akan lebih efektif jika penyakit tersebut terdeteksi sejak dini melalui metode SADARI (Periksa Payudara Sendiri). Namun demikian, masih banyak perempuan yang belum pernah melakukan metode SADARI untuk mendeteksi gejala kanker payudara. Penyebab utama kondisi tersebut adalah kurangnya pengetahuan, tingkat pendidikan, dan informasi tentang metode SADARI. Kegiatan pengabdian masayarakat ini bekerja sama dengan Puskesmas Kecamatan Tanjung Priuk yang mengundang kader-kader puskesmas di wilayah Puskesmas Kecamatan Tanjung Priuk. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang penggunaan aplikasi web Breast-Self Examination (BSE) System untuk mendeteksi gejala kanker payudara secara mandiri. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini berhasil memperkenalkan masyarakat pada aplikasi web BSE System, yang mana aplikasi ini dapat membantu masyarakat untuk melakukan screening gejala-gejala kanker payudara secara mandiri, dan berkonsultasi dengan dokter secara daring tanpa harus merasa khawatir akan keamanan data yang dibagikan.Kata Kunci: kanker payudara, SADARI, BSE System ABSTRACT Death caused by breast cancer ranks second among other types of cancer. Women have a very large risk of contracting breast cancer. Handling cases of breast cancer will be more effective if the disease is detected early through SADARI (Periksa Payudara Sendiri) method. However, there are still many women who have never done the SADARI method to detect breast cancer symptoms. The main cause of this condition is the lack of knowledge, education level, and information about the BSE method. This community service activity is in collaboration with the Tanjung Priuk Subdistrict Community Health Center which invites puskesmas cadres in the Tanjung Priuk Subdistrict Community Health Center area. This activity aims to provide training and education to the public about the use of the Breast-Self Examination (BSE) System web application to independently detect breast cancer symptoms. The results of this community service show that this training has succeeded in introducing the community to the BSE System web application, this application can help the community to independently screen breast cancer symptoms, and doing online consult with doctors without having to worry about the security of the data being shared. Keywords: breast cancer, SADARI, BSE Syste

    In 2020, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia (R.I) launched the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus (MBKM). The University of 17 August 1945 Jakarta is committed to implementing MBKM programs. This study is the first study to discuss the effect of the MBKM policy socialization on the success of MBKM implementation. This study aims to determine whether the online socialization of MBKM policies at UTA '45 Jakarta has an effect on the successful implementation of MBKM programs at UTA '45 Jakarta. The method used is a quantitative method. The results showed that the socialization of MBKM policy at UTA '45 Jakarta influenced the success of MBKM implementation at UTA '45 Jakarta.Keywords: Socialization, policy implementation, MBKM           

    Pelatihan Inklusif Advokasi Kebijakan Hak-Hak Penyandang Disabilitas di Komunitas SOBAT Difabel

    This community service’s goal was to train the skills and capabilities of persons with disabilities and non-disabled persons to be able to fight for the protection and fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities through a policy advocacy process. This community service was carried out online using the Google Meet video conference application and the Mentimeter presentation application. The methods used in this community service activity were: first, the seminar method to explain the material. Second, exercise questions and discussion methods to deepen and confirm participants’ understanding. Third, a descriptive quantitative method using a questionnaire instrument to evaluate the implementation and outcomes of this community service activity.Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih keterampilan dan kapabilitas penyandang disabilitas dan non-penyandang disabilitas supaya dapat memperjuangkan perlindungan dan pemenuhan hak-hak penyandang disabilitas melalui proses advokasi kebijakan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan secara daring dengan menggunakan aplikasi konferensi video Google Meet dan aplikasi presentasi Mentimeter. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdidan kepada masyarakat ini, yaitu: pertama, metode seminar untuk menjelaskan materi. Kedua, metode latihan soal dan diskusi untuk memperdalam dan mengonfirmasi pemahaman peserta. Ketiga, metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan instrumen kuesioner untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan dan luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini
