PENENTUAN DESAIN LERENG FINAL PADA PIT DH DAERAH KONSESI PT. ARUTMIN INDONESIA TAMBANG ASAM ASAM
Slope Mass Rating (SMR).

One factor that supporting the success of open pit mining is slope stability formed. In determining the
slope of the final design slopes formed, one of the way is by using the method of geomechanic
determining value through Rock Mass Rating (RMR) and the Slope Mass Rating (SMR). However, from
the SMR value the safety factor of the slope is unknown, so that the slope stability analysis is required.
Slope value and the safety factor can be a reference to create the final design of representative slopes.
This research conducted in the village of Asam asam, Jorong, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan Province
which the area is PT Arutmin Indonesia PKP2B site Asam asam. The research area is the pit 1 and pit 2
DH. Morphology research areas tend to be slightly because the south area of this research is not far from
the beach, on the north area is a production forest, the west area is residential, and the east area of the
mining area of PT Arutmin Indonesia Site Asam asam. The research area lies in the Warukin Formation
where its stratigraphic unit is sandstone (Coarsed - Fine sand), mudstone (Claystone, Siltstone) and
carbonaceous mudstone, and coal with strike 80o - 90o and dip 29o - 35o. RMR in the sidewall section
ranges between 25-59, and the SMR ranged between 30.1o - 59o, on the western lowwall section or drill
data of AGT-02 and AGT-03 ranged between 20-55 and the SMR ranged between 20o - 55o. In western
highwall section RMR ranges between 34 -71 and the SMR ranged between 33.06o - 71o. In the eastern lowwall section RMR ranged between 20-55 and the SMR ranged between 20o - 54.96o. In the eastern
highwall section of RMR ranged between 29-79 and the SMR ranged between 29o - 79o. From this
analysis of slope stability, in general the value of the slope of SMR values are in unstable to stable
conditions, so it needs to be done to steady decline in the groundwater in some parts so that the final
design produced a stable slope.
