Effect of deformation on two-neutrino double beta decay matrix elements

We study the effect of deformation on the two-neutrino double beta decay for ground state to ground state transitions in all the nuclei whose half-lives have been measured. Our theoretical framework is a deformed QRPA based in Woods-Saxon or Hartree-Fock mean fields. We are able to reproduce at the same time the main characteristics of the two single beta branches, as well as the double beta matrix elements. We find a suppression of the double beta matrix element with respect to the spherical case when the parent and daughter nuclei have different deformations

On rationality of the intersection points of a line with a plane quartic

We study the rationality of the intersection points of certain lines and smooth plane quartics C defined over F_q. For q \geq 127, we prove the existence of a line such that the intersection points with C are all rational. Using another approach, we further prove the existence of a tangent line with the same property as soon as the characteristic of F_q is different from 2 and q \geq 66^2+1. Finally, we study the probability of the existence of a rational flex on C and exhibit a curious behavior when the characteristic of F_q is equal to 3.Comment: 17 pages. Crédito rural e rede bancária no Nordeste Paraense: evolução e concentração espacial, 2000-2010.

Analisa a evolução e distribuição espacial das aplicações de crédito rural e da rede bancária no Nordeste Paraense (PA), entre 2000-2010. Os dados utilizados são do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) e do Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN). Os resultados indicam que apenas 8,09% dos estabelecimentos agropecuários obtiveram acesso aos recursos de crédito rural. No período foram contratadas 146.969 operações, correspondendo a um valor de R$ 1,3 bilhão, dos quais 55,39% foram aplicados em atividades agrícolas e 44,61% em pecuária. O Índice Normalizado de Crédito Rural (INCR) permitiu identificar que 11 municípios são agrícolas, 18 medianamente agrícolas, 14 medianamente pecuaristas e 6 pecuaristas, evidenciando um certo equilíbrio entre as especialidades. Espacialmente, no entanto, há concentração do crédito, pois cinco municípios (10,20%) absorveram um terço dos recursos alocados. O perfil das aplicações é marcado por intensa flutuação, evidenciando a descontinuidade da política e deixado de contribuir mais efetivamente com a modernização e o desenvolvimento da produção agropecuária. A recente expansão da rede de agências, embora desejável, não deverá repercutir favoravelmente na melhoria do acesso ao crédito rural
