    The instrument geometrical parameters calculation theory for the pressure processing of the round-rolled surface

    The problem of round-rolled surface products improving quality by reducing roughness and waviness is solved. Traditionally, grinding is used to improve the surface quality, but at the same time new defects appear in the form of cracks, tinge colours and the abrasive particles infiltration into the surface layer. Surface pressure processing instead of grinding is not associated with such defects, therefore, it is proposed to use a transverse rolling. Rolling rational profile for transverse rolling of round-rolled surface was theoretically determined. Analytical dependences were obtained for rolls in cage with support rings calibration calculations. Such calibration use ensures uniform deterioration of rolls and rings bearing surfaces, as well as the rolls balance with their one-sided load during rolling. A parametric analysis of the deformation conditions effect on the rolls geometry was performed. The conditions when rolls profile can be limited to a circle or a straight line were considered. The obtained results were used in rolls profiling for drawing the rolling surface in laboratory and industrial conditions. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

    Study of a spring pendulum sinker harmonic oscillations in LabVIEW software package

    В данной статье приведено описание демонстрационной установки «Пружинный маятник», совмещенной с ПК. Колебания груза на пружине при помощи датчика расстояния и блока АЦП визуализируются на экране компьютера. Осциллограммы, выводимые на экране монитора, позволяют сделать сравнительный анализ положения максимумов и минимумов гармонических колебаний смещения, скорости и ускорения колеблющегося груза, а также амплитуд указанных зависимостей. Также можно проследить зависимость частоты собственных колебаний от массы груза и жесткости пружины.This paper describes demonstration installation “Spring pendulum” combined with the PC. Sinker oscillations on the spring with the help of distance sensor and ADC block are visualized on a computer screen. The oscillograms are displayed on the screen that makes it possible to do a comparative analysis of the harmonic displacement oscillations maxima and minima positions, velocity and acceleration of the oscillating sinker, as well as the amplitudes of these mentioned dependencies. The natural frequency dependence on the sinker weight and the stiffness of the spring is also can be observed

    Treatment of basal cell cancer with a pulsed copper vapor laser: A Case Series

    Introduction: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most prevalent form of non-melanoma skin cancer commonly arising in elderly patients. Currently, many laser systems are applied for the treatment of BCC. However, up to the present, there have been several reports concerning ocular side effects due to the laser procedure in the borders of the periorbital area. This determines the feasibility of testing new laser surgical modes for the management of periorbital BCC. This stuay aimed to estimate both the efficacy, the early post-radiated side effects and long-term outcomes of the CVL treatment of periorbital BCC.Methods: Two men and 6 women aged 50 to 77 years were diagnosed with periorbital BCC according to the data of both the clinical evaluation and histological examination of the tissue samples taken from the involved area. Six months after the laser treatment, the histological examination of skin samples from the borderline of the irradiated area was made again. All patients were followed for 24 months after the laser treatment of BCC. The laser treatment was administered during one session of copper vapor laser (CVL) (Yakhroma-Med model). The treatment included CVL radiation with a wavelength of 511 nm and 578 nm, in the ratio of 3:2. The power level was set up to 3 W, and the exposure time was equal from 200 to 600 ms. The pulse duration accounted for 15 ns. The diameter of the light spot on the skin surface amounted to 1 mm.Results: Dual-wavelengths CVL treatment of periorbital BCC provided a complete elimination of malignant cells and dysplastic vessels during one procedure. The duration of skin healing amounted to 2-4 weeks. There were neither ocular injuries or pronounced skin side effects nor relapses within 24 months after the laser procedure.Conclusion: CVL treatment of periorbital BCC provides relevant cosmetic results without ocular injuries and relapses

    Treatment of Congenital Melanocytic Nevi With a Dual-Wavelengths Copper Vapor Laser: A Case Series

    Introduction: Congenital melanocytic nevus (CMN) is a severe challenge for dermatology. This pigmented skin lesion is undesirable for patients because of its localization in open areas of the body. Various visible and near-infrared laser systems and intense pulsed light (IPL) sources have been applied for CMN treatment. However, post-traumatic hyperpigmentation, structural changes, atrophy, and scarring due to non-specific thermal damage have been observed. Many patients have shown recurrence after treatment. Therefore, it highlights the need for testing new laser modalities for the management of CMN.Methods: Two adult II Fitzpatrick phototype patients (a 55-year-old male and a 30-year-old female) with middle-sized facial CMN (on the forehead and lower eyelid) are presented. All patients were treated with dual-wavelength copper vapor laser (CVL) radiation at 511 nm and 578 nm wavelengths with a power ratio of 3:2. The average power was 0.7-0.85 W with an exposure time of 0.3 seconds. The spot size amounted to 1 mm.Results: Both patients showed complete resolution of CMN after CVL treatments. CMN became crusted within a few days after the laser treatment and peeled off within seven days. No recurrences were observed during the follow-up period up to 24 months.Conclusion: The middle-sized CMN can be successfully treated with dual-wavelength CVL radiation. DOI: 10.34172/jlms.2021.0

    Visualization of a sound wave by using LabVIEW package

    В данной статье приводится описание программы, разработанной с использованием среды LabVIEW, с помощью которой можно демонстрировать характеристики звуковых волн как с использованием встроенного генератора синусоидального сигнала, так и с использованием голоса демонстратора. В обоих случаях сигнал через звуковую карту ПК поступает на акустические системы лекционной аудитории, а также отображается на экране в виде синусоиды. Благодаря этому студенты могут видеть и слышать, что за понятие ГРОМКОСТЬ ЗВУКА отвечает амплитуда сигнала, а ВЫСОТА звука определяется его частотой.This article describes a program developed with LabVIEW environment, that lets to demonstrate the characteristics of sound waves using the built-in sine wave generator as well as demonstrator voice. In both cases, the signal through the PC sound card is supplied to the speakers in the lecture hall and is displayed on the screen in a sine wave form. Due to this, students can see and hear that the concept of SOUND VOLUME is corresponding to the signal amplitude, and the HEIGHT is determined by the sound frequency

    This article focuses on the role of physical experiment in the educational process, available at the department of physics (InFE). Large number of physical demonstrations presented at the Department of Physics, should form the basis of teaching course of general physics at the University. Therefore it seems to be useful lecturing Physics to students, accompanying classes by lecture demonstrations. Each lecture is built basing on the level of audience preparation, faculty, directions of their specialization and interest in covering particular topics and themes with according to the faculties and heads of departments wishes. So we consider principles and physical laws of functioning some of the specific instruments and devices, demonstrating some of them. Such lectures serve as an excellent addition to already known physics laws and will promote the development of students' interest in technical sciences in general.Данная статья посвящена роли натурного физического эксперимента, имеющегося на кафедре физики ИнФО в образовательном процессе. Большое количество физических демонстраций, имеющихся на кафедре физики, должны служить основой преподавания курса общей физики в вузе. В связи с этим видится полезным чтение лекций по физики студентам, сопровождая их лекционными демонстрациями. Каждая лекция строится с уровня подготовки слушателей, факультета, направления их специализации и заинтересованности в освещении конкретных разделов и тем с учетом пожеланий деканатов и руководителей выпускающих кафедр. При этом рассматриваются принципы и физические законы функционирования конкретных приборов и аппаратов, демонстрируется работа некоторых из них. Такие лекции послужат отличным дополнением к уже известным законам физики и поспособствуют развитию интереса студентов к техническим наукам в целом

Despite thе nature of the electric charge has no scientific explanation so far and there are only four-five lectures to explain that notion and the entire section "Electrostatics" at whole physics course. So we are faced with a serious problem: facilitate understanding of theoretical material supporting it by lecture experiments.Что такое электрический заряд? Ученые на протяжении многих веков пытаются ответить на этот вопрос. Несмотря на это, природа электрического заряда не имеет научного объяснения до сих пор, а на объяснение этого понятия и всего раздела «Электростатика» студентам в курсе физики отводится всего четыре-пять лекций. И перед нами встает серьезная проблема: облегчить восприятие теоретического материала, подкрепляя его лекционным экспериментом
