bim for public authorities basic research for the standardized implementation of bim in the building permit process
The building permit is an indispensable connection between the approval authority and the executive client within the construction process. Moreover, sustainability criteria do not have sufficient regard in the building permit process in the area of research. To lay the foundation for a state-of-the-art digitalization of the building permit process, the study identifies the information requirements relevant to implement the BIM methodology taking into consideration the available sustainability aspects relevant to the process. A detailed evaluation of the building permit process and the analysis of projects that have gained building permission in the last five years in the area of study of South Tyrol (Italy) gives us a better understanding of the organizational structure and responsibilities in the process. The authors use the data of in-depth process analysis to assess a defined catalogue of basic requirements for BIM methodology in the building permit process. As a result, the analysed BIM-integrated approach enables an early-stage identification of approval compliance, which can be evaluated in the building permit process. A good understanding of the current process must be considered a key factor of a successful introduction of BIM for the building permit procedure
Grading of the prostate carcinoma, cyto-histological correlations on 100 cases
From January 1980 to December 1983, 154
patients underwent prostatic FNAB and histological
control. The sensitivity of cytology was 85070, the specificity
68% and the predictive value of positive cases 83%.
The cyto-histological correlation of the grading of the
100 prostatic carcinomas histologically confirmed (85
cytologically positive for carcinoma and 15 negative or
uncertain) showed a predictive value of positive results of
58%, ranging from 42% for G3, 50% for G1 and 69% for
G2.
The usefulness of cytological grading is stressed to
monitor the follow-up of those patients treated for prostatic
carcinoma who, because of the advanced stage or age, were
not surgically treated.
Key words: Prostate cancer - FNAB - Cytohistological
grading correlatio

Spotlight on corneal neurotization
Introduction: Neurotrophic keratopathy (NK) is a degenerative corneal disease originating from a damage to the trigeminal innervation. Corneal neurotization (CN) is a recently introduced surgical procedure consisting of the transfer of normally functioning nerves into the anesthetic cornea. Two main approaches are feasible: i) direct nerve transfer of a healthy nerve branch; ii) interpositional nerve graft coapted to a healthy donor nerve. Areas Covered: In this review, we present an overview of the current literature on CN for the treatment of NK. We discuss all the surgical approaches with specific advantages and disadvantages for each technique along with the results of published clinical studies in terms of both efficacy and safety. Expert Opinion: CN is a safe and effective treatment for NK. This procedure has shown the ability to improve corneal sensitivity, epithelial integrity, and visual acuity. Postoperative corneal re-innervation has also been detected by in vivo confocal microscopy. To date, no conclusive data are available about the technique of choice. In our practice, we perform direct nerve transfer techniques in patients with severe NK in order to take advantage of the presumed immediate sprouting from the transferred nerves; in the other cases, we use interpositional sural nerve graft
