Spin Glass Field Theory with Replica Fourier Transforms
We develop a field theory for spin glasses using Replica Fourier Transforms
(RFT). We present the formalism for the case of replica symmetry and the case
of replica symmetry breaking on an ultrametric tree, with the number of
replicas and the number of replica symmetry breaking steps generic
integers. We show how the RFT applied to the two-replica fields allows to
construct a new basis which block-diagonalizes the four-replica mass-matrix,
into the replicon, anomalous and longitudinal modes. The eigenvalues are given
in terms of the mass RFT and the propagators in the RFT space are obtained by
inversion of the block-diagonal matrix. The formalism allows to express any
-replica vertex in the new RFT basis and hence enables to perform a standard
perturbation expansion. We apply the formalism to calculate the contribution of
the Gaussian fluctuations around the Parisi solution for the free-energy of an
Ising spin glass.Comment: 39 pages, 3 figure
Patterns of creation and usage of wikipedia content
This is the Post-print version of the Article. The official Published version can be accessed from the link below - Copyright @ 2012 IEEEWikipedia is the largest online service storing user-generated content. Its pages are open to anyone for addition, deletion and modifications, and the effort of contributors is recorded and can be tracked in time. Although potentially the Wikipedia web content could exhibit unbounded growth, it is still not clear whether the effort
of developers and the output generated are actually following patterns of continuous growth. It is also not clear how the users access such content, and if recurring patterns of usage are detectable showing how the Wikipedia content typically is viewed by interested readers. Using the category of Wikipedia as macro-agglomerates, this study reveals that Wikipedia categories face a decreasing growth trend over time, after an initial, exponential phase of development. On the other hand the study demonstrates that
the number of views to the pages within the categories follow a linear, unbounded growth.
The link between software usefulness and the need for software maintenance over time has been established by Lehman and other; the link betweenWikipedia usage and changes to the content, unlike software, appear to follow a two-phase evolution of production followed by consumption. This study is partly funded by the University of East London
Involutive constrained systems and Hamilton-Jacobi formalism
In this paper, we study singular systems with complete sets of involutive
constraints. The aim is to establish, within the Hamilton-Jacobi theory, the
relationship between the Frobenius' theorem, the infinitesimal canonical
transformations generated by constraints in involution with the Poisson
brackets, and the lagrangian point (gauge) transformations of physical systems
Causal Propagators for Algebraic Gauges
Applying the principle of analytic extension for generalized functions we
derive causal propagators for algebraic non-covariant gauges. The so generated
manifestly causal gluon propagator in the light-cone gauge is used to evaluate
two one-loop Feynman integrals which appear in the computation of the
three-gluon vertex correction. The result is in agreement with that obtained
through the usual prescriptions.Comment: LaTex, 09 pages, no figure
Variational Formulation for Quaternionic Quantum Mechanics
A quaternionic version of Quantum Mechanics is constructed using the
Schwinger's formulation based on measurements and a Variational Principle.
Commutation relations and evolution equations are provided, and the results are
compared with other formulations.Comment: Talk given at ICCA*, May 26-30 of 2008, Campinas, SP, Brazil. 18

Hamilton-Jacobi formalism for Linearized Gravity
In this work we study the theory of linearized gravity via the
Hamilton-Jacobi formalism. We make a brief review of this theory and its
Lagrangian description, as well as a review of the Hamilton-Jacobi approach for
singular systems. Then we apply this formalism to analyze the constraint
structure of the linearized gravity in instant and front-form dynamics.Comment: To be published in Classical and Quantum Gravit
