Dragonflies and Damselflies (Odonata) of the Grand River System, Northeastern Ohio, 1974-1978
Author Institution: Chagrin River Road, Gates Mills OH 44040Fifty-three collecting stations were established on the Grand River system, Northeastern Ohio, including tributary streams and watershed, from 1974 through 197S. Dragonfly and damsel fly adults, nymphs, and exuviae were collected and counted, resulting in 77 species taken. Populations were measured and plotted as to habitat and time. Selected chemical and physical data were measured and a base-line was established for further work on the subject. I identified (> habitat-areas of the river proper, which yielded distinctive, diverse kinds of Odonata: Boyeria-Calopteryx- Cordulegaster (tributary streams), Calo pleryx-Hagenius-X asiaeschna (upper river), Basiaeschna-Didymops-Dromogomphus (transition area), Argia-Gomphus-Hetaerina were the major genera found at the middle portion of the river, and Argia-Knallagma-Libellula at the lower portion near the mouth. Lakes and ponds studied in the watershed contained mainly Aeshna-linaUagma-IJbellula

The Third Dimension of FAPE Under the IDEA: IEP Implementation
This article provides a synthesis of the three approaches to IEP implementation cases. More specifically, Part I summarizes the materiality/benefit approach, which-like the two-step approach for procedural violations but on a more intertwined basis-requires both a substantial non-implementation and an insufficient benefit. Part II summarizes the materiality-alone approach, which requires only a substantial failure. Part III summarizes the per se approach, which results in a denial of FAPE for any failure to implement beyond one that is clearly de minimis. Finally, Part IV provides conclusions and recommendations for IHOs in light of the incomplete precedential pattern to date. The overall purpose is to provide an objective canvassing of the pertinent case law so that IHOs make defensible decisions in IDEA failure-to-implement cases. This purpose is particularly significant for informed and independent choice in the many jurisdictions without clearly settled judicial authority
New Dragonfly (Odonata) Species in Ohio, and Additions to County Records
Author Institution: Ohio Historical Society ; Ohio Department of Health ; Denison UniversityThis report is a contribution to the Ohio Odonata Survey. Three species previously unknown for Ohio are reported as new state records: Macromia georgina (Selys), 1878, Gomphaeschna furcillata (Say), 1839, and Libellula deplanata Rambur, 1842. These records increase the number of known Odonata from Ohio to 156 species and subspecies. Also reported are 611 new county records, significantly expanding our knowledge of distribution of these species in Ohio. Comments on early or late flight dates and/or species status are made for several species. These records are based upon recent collecting and re-examination of museum collections
