    Kemuning Leaves Extract Gel (Murraya panicula L.): A Study of Quality and Efficacy in Healing Burns

    This study aims to determine the activity of kemuning leaves extract in healing burns, and efficacy and quality of the extract in gel dosage form. The research was started with kemuning leaves extraction used maceration method with ethanol 96%, ethyl acetate and n-hexane as solvent. Each extract was activity tested for healing burn in rabbits. The extract that is most effective in wound healing then formulated into gel. The gel preparations were made in 3 variations of concentration, namely 5% (FI), 10% (FII), and 15% (FIII), with basis by carbopol 940 gel, triethanolamine, and methyl paraben. Then, gels were tested for efficacy and quality. The efficacy test follows the activity test procedure. Gel quality test includes organoleptic, pH, viscosity, dispersibility, and homogenity. The activity test showed that ethanol 96% extract, ethyl acetate and n-hexane healed burns in 13,3; 14,3; and 15,3 days, respectively. While the results of the gel efficacy test for FI, FII and FIII were 13,6; 11,6; and 9,6 days, respectively. In general, all gels have good qualities in every parameter, except the viscosity of FII and FIII which is slightly higher. Based on the results of the research, ethanol 96% extract was the most effective in healing burn. In addition, FIII gel has the best efficacy with good qualities except viscosity

    A research on the determination of the total flavonoid content of 70% ethanol extract and n-hexane extract of leaves of soursop(Annona muricata L.). The purpose of this study was to determine levels of total flavonoids, contained in soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L). Extraction of chemical constituents from leaves of soursop(Annonamuricata L.) done by maceration method using 70% ethanol. To determine the flavonoid compounds in the sample extracts, compound analysis is carried out using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results were obtained levels of total flavonoids of the soursop leaf (Annona muricata L). Of 70% ethanol extract was 2,82%. And n-hexane extract was 4,48 %. So the total flavonoid content of the extract of soursop leaf (Annona muricata L.) by 7.3%

    Researched about The Total Tannin Assay Extract of Black Cumin Seeds (Nigella sativa) with Ultraviolet-Visible Spectrophotometry. This research aims to determine the levels of total tannin extract of black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa). The method used is multilevel macerationusing n-hexane and ethanol 70%. Extracts were identified using FeCl3reagent and gelatin solution showed positive resultscontaining tannin onthe ethanol70%extract.The extracts thatpositive containing tannins diluted, added Folin Deanis reagent and saturated sodium carbonate, then read at 740  nm wavelength. Forming reaction was the oxidation reduction where tannin as reductant and Folin Denis as an oxidant. The results of oxidation will form a blue color that can be read at maximum wavelength. Based on the regression y = 0.004 x + 0.097 and 0.996 for determination coefficient, was gained an average of tannin levels in the ethanol extract of black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa) is 4, 13 %

    Kerusakan jaringan tubuh dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa hal. Luka sayat merupakan suatu bentuk kerusakan atau kehilangan jaringan tubuh yang disebabkan oleh benda tajam. Aktivitas penyembuhan luka dapat ditemukan pada kandungan senyawa yang terdapat pada daun nilam yaitu minyak nilam yang memiliki kandungan senyawa patchouli alcohol, tanin, saponin dan α-bulnasen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas minyak daun nilam (Pogostemon  Cablin Benth) dalam penyembuhan luka sayat, mengetahui  konsentrasi yang paling baik dan bagaimana  perspektif Islam tentang pemanfaatan daun Nilam (Pogostemon cablin Benth) sebagai obat penyembuh luka sayat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian  eksperimental laboratorium. Subjek penelitian adalah mencit yang dibagi menjadi  menjadi 7 kelompok  perlakuan. Kelompok I, II, III, IV dan V  adalah kelompok ekstrak daun Nilam (Pogostemon Cablin Benth) dengan konsentrasi  berturut-turut 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, dan 50%, kelompok VI Betadin (Povidon Iodin 10%) sebagai kontrol positif dan kelompok VII Tween 80 sebagai kontrol negatif.  Pemberian dilakukan secara topikal dengan volume pemberian 1 ml. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak minyak daun Nilam (Pogostemon Cablin Benth) pada konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, dan 50% dapat menyembuhkan luka sayat pada mencit (Mus musculus) dan pada konsentrasi  50% menunjukkan aktivitas terbaik dalam penyembuhan luka sayat

    The  formulation  of  herbal  preparations  have  been  done  scrub  cream  white soybean dregs and arabica coffee dregs using a variation of the type of emulsifier, the nonionic surfactant (tween 80 and span 80) and a anionic surfactant (sodium lauryl sulfate). This study aims to determine the type of emulsifier which has good physical stability. Test stability scrub cream dosage is determined based on observations of organoleptic (color, smell and shape), creaming, viscosity, size of the dispersed drops, pH and phase inversion on the condition before and after accelerated storage at a temperature of 5oC and 35oC. Statistical analysis showed that the RAK emulsifier no significant differences on viscosity scrub cream before and after the storage accelerated and does not give any influence on organoleptic, the size of the dispersed drops, the pH before and after accelerated storage. The results of the study showed no creaming and inverse phase with all the scrub cream, so that all can be categorized as scrub cream with good stability

    Efek Tabir Surya Ekstrak Daun Binahong (Anredera cordifolia)

    Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang penentuan efek tabir surya ekstrak daun binahong [Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis]. Pengujian efek tabir surya dilakukan dengan menghitung nilai transmisi eritema (%Te), transmisi pigmentasi (%Tp), dan nilai SPF. Daun binahong diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian efek berdasarkan serapan dan transmisi pada panjang gelombang UV yang diukur dengan spektrofotometer. Hasil pengujian nilai rata – rata persen transmisi eritema (%Te) pada konsentrasi (300 ppm, 350 ppm, 400 ppm, dan 450 ppm) berturut - turut adalah 31,52%; 23,90%; 20,27%; 14,71%. Sedangkan perhitungan nilai rata– rata persen transmisi pigmentasi (%Tp) yang diperoleh berturut-turut adalah 20,95%; 15,9%; 11,98%; 8,26%. Nilai rata-rata SPF berturut-turut adalah 4,36; 5,82; 7,44; 10,45. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa Ekstrak Daun Binahong berefek sebagai tabir surya pada konsentrasi 450 ppm. Efek termasuk kategori fast tanning untuk proteksi eritema dan proteksi totalblock untuk proteksi pigmentasi

    The experiment has been done about of the inhibition The Effectiveness of Antibacterial Test Noni Juice (Morinda citrifolia.L) From Makassar on Beef. This experiment aims to determine the effectivenes of noni juice can inhibit the growth of bacteria on beef and knowing that the most effective concentration of fruit juice can inhibit the growthof bacteria on beef. Noni juice exstracted mechanically using organoleptic test and than ALT test bacteria on beef with control, concentration 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and 50%. Organoleptic tests conducted test smells, textures and colours calculated the total number of bacteria by dilution made from 10-1 to 10-4 and thaninserted into a petri dish countaining medium and incubated for 1 x 24 hours and counted the total number of microbes with the TPC method.The result showed Noni juice can inhibit the growth of bacteria on beef that is at concentrations of 50% which gives any lasting power on beef for three days.Most true god over all creation

    Studies have been conducted testing anti-inflammatory effects of black cuminseed extract to mice with induced by subplantar albumin, wich to determine the effect and the concentration of the seed extract jintan hitam as an anti-inflammatory. This study was done by giving albumin as mediators of inflamatinon in the feet of mice, after which the black cumin seed n-Heksan extract to mice given orally with a dose of 1,2 g/kg BB, 2,4 g/kg BB, and 4,8 g/kg BB and carried out observations began after inducing albumin, up to 120 minutes. Na.diclofenac is used as a comparison at dose of 0,2 mg. Obtained inflammation percentage of black cumin seed n-Heksan extract with dose 1,2 g/kg BB is 17,5%, dose 2,4 g/kg BB is 18,06% and for dose 4,8 g/kg BB is 23,33%. For black cumin seed etanol extract given orally with a same dose of 1,2 g/kg BB, 2,4 g/kg BB, and 4,8 g/kg BB orally and carried out observations began after inducing albumin, up to 120 minutes. Na.diclofenac is used as a comparison at dose of 0,2 mg. Obtained inflammation percentage of black cumin seed etanol extract with dose 1,2 g/kg BB is 20,83%, dose 2,4 g/kg BB is 22,22% and for dose 4,8 g/kg BB is 24,72%.Doses of n-Heksan extract of seed black cumin and etanol extract of seed black cumin given to mice has antiinflammatory effects. This shows that n-Heksan extract of the seed black cumin and etanol extract of seed black cumin capable of inhibiting inflammation to mice induced by albumin. From the three doses, the best doses who give inhibiting inflammation is 4,8 g/kg BB for n-Heksan extract of seed black cumin and etanol extract of seed black cumin

    FORMULASI DAN UJI STABILITAS FISIK KRIM SUSU KUDA SUMBAWA DENGAN EMULGATOR NONIONIK DAN ANIONIK

    Telah dilakukan formulasi, uji stabilitas fisik, dan aktivitas sediaan krim susu kuda Sumbawa dengan emulgator nonionik (kombinasi tween 60 dan span 60) dan anionik (kombinasi asam stearat dan TEA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan konsentrasi emulgator yang baik terhadap kestabilan fisik krim susu kuda Sumbawa. Uji stabilitas sediaan krim ditentukan berdasarkan pengamatan organoleptik, tipe emulsi, volume kriming, viskositas, tetes terdispersi, daya sebar dan pHpada kondisi sebelum dan setelah penyimpanan dipercepat pada suhu 5ºC dan 35ºC. uji aktivitas pada krim susu kuda Sumbawa dengan emulgator anionik konsentrasi 2%, 3% dan 4% dan nonionik konsentrasi  2%, 3% dan 4%.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula krim susu kuda Sumbawa yang menggunakan emulgator nonionik mengalami pemisahan fase setelah penyimpanan dipercepat. Kondisi penyimpanan dipercepat memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap viskositas tiap krim.Emulgator anionik dengan konsentrasi 2%, 3%, dan 4% dapat membentuk krim dengan stabilitas fisik yang baik, dan diamati ketiga konsentrasi diperoleh stabilitas fisik yang baik pada emulgator anionik dengan konsentrasi 4% pada uji stabilitas fisik, organoleptik, pengenceran, dispersi zat warna, volume kriming, daya sebar, dan viskositas
