Minutes for fiscal Year 2015

First Records of Parasitoids Attacking the Asian Citrus Psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama (Hemiptera: Liviidae), in Hawaii
amarixia sp. prob. radiata (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) and Diaphoren- cyrtus aligharensis (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae), two natural enemies released against the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri) in various areas around the world, were discovered attacking this pest on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, in 2012
Astrophysical Condition on the attolensing as a possible probe for a modified gravity theory
We investigate the wave effect in the gravitational lensing by a black hole
with very tiny mass less than 10^-19 solar mass, which is called attolensing,
motivated by a recent report that the lensing signature might be a possible
probe of a modified gravity theory in the braneworld scenario. We focus on the
finite source size effect and the effect of the relative motion of the source
to the lens, which are influential to the wave effect in the attolensing.
Astrophysical condition that the lensed interference signature can be a probe
of the modified gravity theory is demonstrated. The interference signature in
the microlensing system is also discussed.Comment: Accepted for publication in IJMP
Classical Cepheids, what else?
We present new and independent estimates of the distances to the Magellanic
Clouds (MCs) using near-infrared (NIR) and optical--NIR period--Wesenheit (PW)
relations. The slopes of the PW relations are, within the dispersion, linear
over the entire period range and independent of metal content. The absolute
zero points were fixed using Galactic Cepheids with distances based on the
infrared surface-brightness method. The true distance modulus we found for the
Large Magellanic Cloud--- mag---and the
Small Magellanic Cloud--- mag---agree quite
well with similar distance determinations based on robust distance indicators.
