One of the main causes of traffic accidents are noncompliance motorists, which include driving at high speed regardless of traffic signs indicating motor vehicle speed limit. This study discusses and evaluates the road characteristics and speed of road users, especially motor vehicles and the performance of the speed limit signs on Kapten Haryadi street, and the perception of road users for non-compliance with the signs in place. The method used is direct field surveys such as traffic survey, the survey speed with a local method using a Speed Gun, and a survey using a questionnaire. The results show that the total flow (Q) is 1771.2 pcu/hr, free flow velocity (FV) is 58,65 km/hr, road segment capacity (C) is 2883 smp/hr, and the degree of saturation is 0.614. Furthermore. It is shown that many violations of the speed limit signs occur in in Kapten Haryadi road segmen

Pengaruh Kondisi Cuaca Penerbangan Terhadap Beban Kerja Mental Pilot

In modes of transportation, air transportation is the mode that is very dependent on weather conditions, either the aircraft will take off and on the cruise, weather phenomena which are beyond the control of human existence are often inserted into the factors which may be the cause of a accident. This study was conducted to determine whether the differences as a pilot mental workload in the weather phenomenon condition that occurs when operating the aircraft in terms of differences pilot age. Mental workload measurements performed using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) method, this method using combine of three dimensions with their levels. The dimensions are time load, mental effort load, and psychological stress load. The results of studies showed that for overall, the level of the highest relative importance is the dimension of time, then all subjects have an agreement and assume that the time load is the most important factor in determining the level of pilot mental workload on the face weather conditions were influential in the world of aviation, while for the most burdened condition or pilot mental workload in the highest level either for both group is when aircraft face of changing wind conditions

Pengkajian Tingkat Beban Kerja Mental Pilot Pesawat Terbang Dalam Melaksanakan Tahap Fase Terbang (Phase of Flight)

THE TRANSFORMATION OF PRIVATE VEHICLE USERS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT USERS (CASE STUDY: BALI, INDONESIA)

One of the roots traffic congestion is high number of private vehicle which triggered by an increase in the number of population. Switching users of private vehicle to public transport regarding to the affecting factor supposed to be examining first to solve traffic congestion. Based on factor analysis, there are two major factor on transport mode choice; quality (time, comfort, cleanness, safety, security, accessibility, and reliability ) and cost. Therefore, the government should be taking into considerations priority, which offer high contribution on solution made as priority. In order to achieving goal; the quality criteria reached contribution value that of 68% and 32% for cost criteria. Quality criteria compiled by time which has 61.8% of contribution value, safety (15.2%), accessibility (9.1%), security (8.8%), reliability (2.4%), comfort (1.7%), and cleanness as the priority within quality criteria has 1% of contribution. On the other dimension, cost criteria contain of fuel subsidy reached 95.664% of contribution, parking rate (3.947%), progressive tax (0.366%), and LCGC issue (0.023%)

The Issues of Track Maintenance Management in Indonesia (Based on Study of the British Railways)

It is believed that there is merit in researching how the management of track maintenance is organized in the United Kingdom, in particular by Network Rail, and then evaluating how this can be applied to the benefit of Indonesian Railways. The purpose of this research was expected to provide recommendations for management improvement of track maintenance by researching the track maintenance management system in Network Rail. This research study is based on secondary data. The analysis was conducted by using comparison method which compares the British Railways management and Indonesia railway management related to track maintenance management. The track maintenance management system was studied by using Network Rail. The results were compared with track maintenance management system in Indonesia. The comparison will provide the data differences that evaluated so the problem can be identified. The final result of this analysis was the identification of problems and improvisation that can be done for the development of track maintenance management in Indonesia. Several management issues have been mapped to several groups: finance management, structure organization, and asset management. From the problems that have been mapped, some improvements are recommended as monopolist authority restriction, maintenance system contract extension, re-structuring organization hierarchy, business plan consideration, track monitoring strategy arrangement, and condition based maintenance strategy adoption

Evaluation of Alternative Railway Connection Access at Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport

Traveling between the center of Jakarta and Soekarno Hatta International Airport (SHIA) is further constrained by the limited number of main routes available which likely cannot be accommodated in the future by road based transport modes alone. Hence, the airport needs to develop airport surface access to accommodate its network. The aim of this research is to analyze the railway access system for developing the system of SHIA using multi criteria analysis in the selection of alternative route alignment of the railway line and a qualitative study in data collection within the research design. Development of the criteria includes technical, economic, environmental and spatial aspect. Three alternatives have been proposed in this analysis, i.e. through West Jakarta, through North and West Jakarta and through North and Central Jakarta. The results show that alternative 3 (through North and Central Jakarta) can give implications to the airport users, i.e. providing a high standard of the rail link in a well-timed manner and a cost-effective public transport link. Improving the multi-modal access to the airport will improve the supply of employment to business, lead to urban regeneration around station locations, and improve Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Area regional competitiveness

THE SHIFTING OF PRIVATE VEHICLE USERS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT USERS (CASE STUDY : BALI, INDONESIA)

Bali has quite similar problems on traffic disorder compare to other city in Indonesia. One of the roots traffic congestion is high number of private vehicle which triggered by an increase in the number of population. Furthermore, the increasing of private vehicle tends to stimulate additional problems such as pollution, noise, and energy consumption. These circumstances cannot be neglected since it leads to the decreasing quality of life and threaten sustainability development. Numerous efforts have been conducted in order to solve those problems. Yet, the government remains focuses on build new infrastructure or based on conventional approaches. On the contrary, constructing the new infrastructure might even increase the demand of transport. Hence, in order to overcome traffic congestion through switching users of private vehicle to public transport, the affecting factor supposed to be examining first. Based on factor analysis, there are two major factor on transport mode choice in Bal
