Reminiscencias de la Orestea en la obra de Héléne Cixous

En la actualidad Hélène Cixous es uno de los máximos exponentes de las corrientes feministas del siglo XXI. Su innovadora teoría nos ha dejado conceptos como escritura femenina o falocentrismo. En su variada producción encontramos múltiples alusiones a la literatura grecolatina. En este trabajo nos proponemos acercarnos a su obra desde una nueva perspectiva, dejando a un lado el contenido feminista que la impregna. Nos centraremos en aquellos aspectos que la autora rescata de la literatura griega (concretamente de la Orestea) para utilizarlos y reconvertirlos en varios de sus escritos. Para ello vamos a analizar de forma particular tres de sus obras: La jeune née, Les Euménides y La Ville parjure ou le réveil des Erinyes.Currently, Hélène Cixous is one of the greatest exponents of the feminist current of the XXI century. Her innovative theory has given rise to concepts like feminine writing or phallocentrism. However, we find numerous references to the Greco-Latin literature in all his writings. In the present study we aim to take a close look to the literary work from a new standpoint, putting aside the feminist content. To carry out this, we will focus on those aspects that the author retrieves from the Greek literature (specifically, from the Orestea), uses and reconverts in the following books: La jeune née, Les Euménides and La Ville parjure ou le réveil des Erinyes

Los trabajos del mito clásico en el Chile actual. La puta madre de Marco Antonio de la Parra

At this moment, concern about the memory takes up the center in the political and cultural life in many countries. It is the case of Chile, which since 1989 it has lived through many political disputes for memory. The sociology and cultural studies have done many researches about this problema. In this study we have taken the perspective of the classical tradition with the aim of reflecting the use of classical myth in the reinterpretation of the national past. For this we have analyzed La puta madre (1998), a play inspired by the legend of the Atreus and adapted to the social and cultural chilean context of the second half of the 20th century to dramatize tensions, contradictions and anxieties of the current culture of memory

Cómo representar el horror: las Erinias en la tradición occidental

The objective of the present work is to keep track of the Erinyes in the Western tradition, starting with Aeschylus´ Eumenides. We are taking into account the intertextuality and intermodality, as it is typical of the studies on the Classical Tradition. We are also paying attention to disciplines as varied as literature, ceramics, painting, cinema… with the aim of reflecting the evolution undergone by these characters over time. Thus, we will observe that the specific circumstances surrounding each recreation or reinterpretation implies that the author/artist judges them in a specific way. Along this paper, we will realize that the Aeschylus’ Eumenides has few similarities with Sartre’s work

Sobre la recreación de coros trágicos en el teatro español contemporáneo

El estudio de los coros dramáticos de la tragedia griega continúa presentando una serie de problemas en cuanto a su interpretación y función dentro de la acción dramática. El asunto se complica todavía más cuando abordamos adaptaciones y versiones libres del teatro contemporáneo, puesto que la introducción del coro resulta muy compleja al ser este considerado un elemento anacrónico. El propósito de este trabajo es el análisis de la renovación de la escena que se produce en España en el siglo XX, donde el teatro griego ejerce un peso fundamental, como demuestran las obras de Arcadio López Casanova (Orestes, 1960) y Maria Josep Ragué (Clitemnestra, 1985), tomadas aquí como corpus de estudio.In the context of Greek tragedy, the study of the dramatic chorus still raises a number of issues related to its interpretation and function in the dramatic action. Its introduction in adaptations and free interpretations in contemporary theatre may render it as an anachronistic element. Nuevas configuraciones de las Erinias a la luz del feminismo

En estas páginas abordaremos aquellas piezas teatrales del s. XX que, bajo el influjo del naciente feminismo en Europa, recrearon y sacaron a escena a las Erinias. Las obras aquí seleccionadas presentan una novedosa concepción respecto al papel y función de estas antiguas diosas, no solo por ser presentadas con una serie de connotaciones positivas, inexistentes hasta ese momento, sino también por el nuevo rol que adquieren como guardianas del derecho materno, dispuestas a velar no solo por el interés de la madre, sino de todas las mujeres. Las Erinias que nos presentan Ragué (Clitemnestra) y Cixous (La Ville parjure ou le réveil des Erinyes) combatirán activamente contra el orden masculino para reivindicar la posición y papel de la mujer en la sociedad del momento.In this work we aim to take a closer look at the 20th c. theatre plays that, under the influence of the nascent feminism in Europe, recreated and dramatized the Erinyes. The theatre plays selected here feature an innovative conception in relation to the role and function of these ancient goddesses. From this moment, Erinyes are starting to acquire positive connotations, becoming not only the guardians of the maternal rights but also of the rest of women. The Erinyes introduced by Ragué (Clitemnestra) and Cixous (La Ville parjure ou le réveil des Erinyes) will actively fight against the male order to claim the position and role of women in those times
