Compounds of magnesium, potassium, barium, and strontium chlorides with epsilon -caprolactam were prepared and studied by chemical and crystal-optical analyses, X-ray powder diffraction, and thermogravimetry. All of the compounds obtained were single-phase and crystallized in the monoclinic system. The final products of their thermolysis were MgO, CaCl2, SrCl2, and BaCl2, respectively
Gold(I) Complex [(Phen)2H][Au(SCN)2]: Synthesis and Properties
[(Phen)2H]Au(SCN)2] complex was synthesized from aqueous solutions of auric chloride acid, potassium thiocyanate, and an acetone solution of 1,10-phenanthroline. The oxidation number +1 for gold is evidenced by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and by the synthesis of the complex with preliminary reduction of Au(III) to Au(I) by means of sodium sulfite. The presence of [(Phen)2H]+ and thiocyanate groups coordinated to gold through sulfur atoms is confirmed by IR spectroscopy
