    Hybrid Energy Harvester for Medical Sensor Node toward Real-Time Healthcare Monitoring

    In healthcare applications, the remote monitoring for moving patients depends on medical sensor nodes, which should be mobile. Thus, the power mains of medical sensor nodes should be disconnected most of the time to monitor natural movements of patients. In this paper, a self-sustainable medical sensor node is proposed for healthcare monitoring applications. The node implementation consists of a microcontroller unit (MCU), a photo-plethysmography (PPG) sensor, a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) module, and a MPU module that includes a gyroscope with accelerometer. The power supply of the node is a hybrid energy harvester developed to provide a sustainable energy for the sensor node. The harvester is composed of a photovoltaic (PV) panel, a thermoelectric generator (TEG) module, a DC-DC converter, and a super-capacitor. Experimental results illustrate that the proposed node can monitor a physiological data on a mobile device using the BLE Terminal application

    The Influence of Chamber of Commerce on Small Businesses

    Nonprofit chambers of commerce have a long history in western culture but little if any empirical research has been conducted to explore why a small business would join one. This study focuses on members’ evaluation of chamber assistance programs and benefits and how they mediate the impact of satisfaction and the perceived customer value of paid membership for chamber services. A mail census survey of all 2019 members, in a large category-four chamber of commerce, provided valid and reliable representation of existing membership demographics. Factor analysis identified four main benefits, whereas a LISREL model was applied to identify the mediating impact of relational benefits on satisfaction and perceived value. All four dominant benefits significantly correlated with both membership satisfaction and perceived value as did the correlation between satisfaction and perceived value. However, perceived value was found to have higher correlations with relational benefits than that of satisfaction. This study is important as it provides managers with a framework to identify and balance the benefits desired by the membership and adjust the level of expected satisfaction with perceived value in a nonprofit service-oriented assistance organization.     Introduction: The theory of pulmonary circulation took more than 1000 years to come into existence as we know it today. Methods: In this descriptive study, an attempt was made to gain access to reliable sources for investigating various opinions regarding the earliest discovery of pulmonary blood circulation. Results: After the rediscovery of Ibn Nafis' manuscript no.62243 titled “Sharah al Tashreeh al Qanoon”, or "Commentary on the anatomy of Canon of Avicenna" in 1924 AD in Europe, it became clear that Ibn Nafis had described the pulmonary circulation almost 300 years before Harvey, and the historians like Aldo Mieli, Max Mayrhoff, Edward Coppola etc. clearly state that Ibn Nafis should be given the credit for the discovery of the pulmonary circulation. Conclusion: According to the results over the false theories during the medical history which there has been some exploration of their Muslim medicine attributed mistakenly to the scientists European that this considered theft and away from medical ethics.تئوری گردش خون ریوی آن‌گونه که ما امروزه آن را می‌شناسیم نزدیک به هزار سال پیش کشف شده است این کشف با گذشت زمان به افراد مختلفی نسبت داده شده است. در این پژوهش سعی شده است تا از طریق دسترسی به منابع معتبر در قالب یک مقاله توصیفی دیدگاه‌های مختلف در زمینه کشف اولیه گردش خون کوچک بررسی گردد. با کشف نسخه‌های دست‌نویس ابن نفیس با عنوان شرح‌حالی بر تشریح قانون و یا تفسیر بر ساختار قانون ابن سینا در سال 1924 میلادی در اروپا مشخص گردید که ابن نفیس گردش خون ریوی را 300 سال قبل از ویلیام هاروی به تفصیل ارائه داده است به گونه‌ای که بسیاری از مورخان از جمله آلدو میلی، ماکس ماروف، ادوارد کوپولا و دیگران به طور واضح بیان داشته‌اند که این کشف باید به ابن نفیس نسبت داده شود. با توجه به نتایج مطالعه مذکور مشخص می‌گردد که تئوری‌های نادرستی به مرور در طی تاریخ پزشکی به وجود آمده است که در طی آن‌ها برخی از اکتشافات پزشکان مسلمان به اشتباه به دانشمندان اروپایی نسبت داده شده است که این امر سرقت علمی محسوب شده و به دور از اخلاق پزشکی است

    Response of Sunflower Yield and Phytohormonal Changes to Azotobacter,Azospirillum,Pseudomonas and Animal Manure in a Chemical Free Agroecosystem

    There are new trends in agriculture to move toward the low input systems with the lower application of chemical fertilizers. To reach this goal, different methods, such as the application of biofertilizers, may be used. So this experiment was conducted in 2010 at a research farm in Arak, Iran, in factorial in the form of a randomized complete block design with three replications and four factors: animal manure (M), Pseudomonas putida (P), Azotobacter chroococcum (A)and Azospirillum lipoferum (Z). Results indicated that manure significantly affected grain yield (P≤0.01); the highest grain yield was achieved in the interaction of manure × Azotobacter × Pseudomonas (4.556 ton/ha). Grain yield was not significantly affected by the microorganisms. Moreover, the four factors of the experiment significantly affected auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin content of plant. Overall, this experiment indicated that desirable yield can be achieved by the application of manure and biofertilizers, in a sustainable agriculture

    An empirical study on relationship between organizational culture and administrative corruption

    Bureaucratic corruption is an organizational phenomenon, which faces the trend of countries’ development with serious problems. In spite of all planning and respects of countries to fight against this phenomenon, we are still observing its growth in various aspects of the community. The basic approach emphasized by present study is that it is necessary to establish a corruption prevention system whose central element is social culture and organizational culture rather than relying upon the trends based on punishment after corruption. To perceive the relationship between organizational culture and bureaucratic health of organizations, we used a field approach and selected four governmental organizations namely “governorship”, “municipality”, “traffic police” and “customs to gather the data. We used two questionnaires A and B to gather the data on organizational culture and the relationship between culture and corruption, respectively. Initially, by distributing questionnaire A, we evaluated all four organizations in a manner that two organizations have bureaucratic culture and two organizations with organic culture. Then, questionnaire B was distributed among employees and clients of studied organizations (to acquire realer information on bureaucratic health rate) to study the relationship between the type of organizational culture and bureaucratic health. Research statistical population consists of all employees and clients of bureaucratic organizations in Chabahar province located in south east of Iran. Statistical sample consists of 146 clients and 146 employees of all four studied organizations. The results from data analysis show that there is no significant relationship between organic or mechanic organizational culture and employees’ bureaucratic health

    Adaptive control design for a synchronous generator

    The operating point of a power system changes to an unknown point with an unknown change in the mechanical input power. In this paper, a nonlinear adaptive controller is designed for excitation system of the generator based on the backstepping control technique, in order to achieve transient stability enhancement, in the presence of uncertainties in mechanical power. The designed controller guarantees the convergence of system states to new desired values corresponding to unknown mechanical power. A power system consisting of a synchronous generator connected to an infinite bus through a double circuit transmission line is used in control design and the simulation studies. Computer simulation verifies the effectiveness and the validity of the proposed control, considering faulted system with a clearance and change in network topology. © 2014, Editura Academiei Romane.     A national school-based screening program for mental health problems among children aged 6 to 12 years in Iran:scale development and psychometric evaluation

    Schools are an ideal setting in which to measure and promote mental health difficulties. The aim of present study was to develop the Nemad Electronic Mental-Health Assessment Devices for Children (NEMAD-C) aged 6 to 12 years in Iran. A sample of parents and teachers (N = 10,163) were recruited to complete the parent and teacher reports. Totally, explorative and confirmatory factor analyses showed that the eight-factor model provides a better fit for both parental report and teacher report versions. Results revealed a screening tool consisting of eight dimensions: child abuse risk, self-harm, anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, academic achievement deficit, and self-regulation. Findings showed that the internal consistency coefficients of the subscales were high, and convergent validity was evidenced by significant correlations with theoretically related constructs. Therefore, the NEMAD-C has adequate reliability and validity and could be used for multi-dimensional assessment of mental health problems in Iran

    Performance of optimal hierarchical type 2 fuzzy controller for load–frequency system with production rate limitation and governor dead band

    AbstractControlling load–frequency is regarded as one of the most important control-related issues in design and exploitation of power systems. Permanent frequency deviation from nominal value directly affects exploitation and reliability of power system. Too much frequency deviation may cause damage to equipment, reduction of network loads efficiency, creation of overload on communication lines and stimulation of network protection tools, and in some unfavorable circumstances, may cause the network collapse. So, it is of great importance to maintain the frequency at its nominal value.It would be useful to make use of the type 2 fuzzy in modeling of uncertainties in systems which are uncertain. In the present article, first, the simplified 4-block type-2 fuzzy has been used for modeling the fuzzy system. Then, fuzzy system regulations are reduced by 33% with the help of hierarchy fuzzy structure. The simplified type-2 fuzzy controller is optimized using the Cuckoo algorithm. Eventually, the performance of the proposed controller is compared to the Mamdani fuzzy controller in terms of the ISE, ITSE, and RMS criteria
