PERTINENCIA DE LA CARRERA DE ENFERMERÍA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE BABAHOYO

RELEVANCE OF THE CAREER OF NURSING OF THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF BABAHOYORESUMENAnte los retos de transformación que demanda la actual sociedad las universidades deben formar profesionales que sean capaces de responder competentemente en el campo laboral, por lo que fue necesario evaluar la pertinencia de la carrera de Enfermería de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo, para ello, se realizó un análisis de las tendencias de la profesión y la aplicación de encuestas a los egresados, estudiantes y empleadores. Para determinar la muestra de los egresados se consideraron las cohortes 2015, 2014 y 2013, con un total de 203 graduados, ubicados laboralmente en los hospitales de Babahoyo, IESS, Vinces, Quevedo, Ventanas, y en las unidades operativas del área 1, los estudiantes corresponden al séptimo semestre del período 2016, los empleadores tanto público y privado sectorizados en el área 1. Los resultados revelan la satisfacción por parte de los empleadores con el desempeño laboral del egresado con nombramiento y por contrato, pero que falta mejor manejo de liderazgo dentro de los procesos de gestión administrativa.PALABRAS CLAVE: pertinencia; tendencias de la profesión; egresados; carrera de enfermería.ABSTRACTFaced with the challenges of transformation demanded by the current society, universities must train professionals who are able to respond competently in the labor field, so it was necessary to evaluate the relevance of the Nursing career of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University Babahoyo Technique, for this, an analysis of the tendencies of the profession and the application of surveys to graduates, students and employers were carried out. In order to determine the sample of the graduates, the cohort 2015, 2014 and 2013 were considered, with a total of 203 graduates, located in the hospitals of Babahoyo, IESS, Vinces, Quevedo, Ventanas and in the operational units of area 1, the Students correspond to the seventh semester of the period 2016, both public and private employers sectorized in area 1. Are requirements of the class contemporary to the teaching University them concerning to the role of the student in its variability of search of information and generation of sources of knowledge each time more updated and novel.
