    Laboratory experiments were carried out on water quality purification of Eco Bio-Block (EBB), which is a porous concrete block including Bacillus subtilis natto group. The mineralization of organic matter and the nitrification of ammonium were examined in a closed water system and compared with those of normal concrete blocks on the market. The capacity of water quality purification by EBB was much higher than that of the normal concrete blocks and increased outstandingly with the increase of the water temperature. The generation speed of dissolved inorganic nitrogen and the nitrification speed by EBB were estimated by changing the water temperature
