El Context català, una àrea de concentració de coneixement i activitat terminològica

L'article presenta un panorama de la terminologia catalana al llarg del segle xx i fins avui a través de distintes fases. Exposa com s'ha organitzat oficialment el treball terminològic català i justifica les raons per les quals ha estat organitzat a través d'un centre coordinador participat per diferents institucions i organismes. Exposa l'activitat que es duu a terme actualment tant en el camp aplicat a la producció terminològica i terminòtica com en la docència i la recerca. I acaba subratllant el volum de coneixement i expertesa que, sobre terminologia, s'ha acumulat a l'àrea catalana.This paper presents an overview of Catalan terminology in the 20th century and up to the present. Firstly it explains how Catalan terminology work has been officially organised and sets out the reasons why this has been done through a coordinating centre involving various institutions and organisations. It then looks at work currently being done in terminology production and computerised terminography tools and also in teaching and research. Finally, it underlines the quantity of terminology knowledge and expertise that has been built up in the Catalan-speaking area
