    The Influence of Laminated Layer and Thickness Gigantochloa Scortechinii Bamboo Strips on Mechanical Performance of Unsaturated Polyester Composites

    Abstract: In this study, several types of Gigantochloa scortechinii bamboo strips were used as fillers in an unsaturated polyester matrix and characterized in term of their tensile and flexural properties. The strips were formed with the culm fiber composite with inner-to-outer layer thicknesses of 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, and 2.5 mm. The laminated bamboo strips composites were developed using the hand lay-up technique. The analysis was carried out using a 2-factor, 3-level design of experiment (DOE) and an analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine how the layer strip and the thickness of the bamboo affected the mechanical properties of the composites. It was proven that both the bamboo layer and the thickness demonstrated significantly different results in terms of the tensile and flexural performance. The overall results indicated that the middle layer of the laminated composite exhibited the highest tensile and flexural strength

    The anatomical, physical and chemical properties of Gigantochloa scortechinii from different ages of 0.5, 1.5, 3.5, 5.5 and 6.5 years were investigated. The bamboo culm from the sixth internode above ground was studied. This study suggests that G. scortechinii is in its growing, development and maturation phases at ages 0.5, 1.5 and 3.5 years respectively. The higher content of inorganic nutrients in bamboo showed its potential as chewing sticks. Bamboo from 3.5 years of age was suitable for any utilization purpose

    From the basic motion of a simple pendulum, which acts as a tool that turns a blank canvas into pure abstract art, this particular concept has been applied to science-related art to showcase its tremendous impact on scientific, psychological and educational fields. The Art and Science Program is a collaborative artistic program between the committees from the Chemical and Energy School of Engineering, UTM, and Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF), with the aim of examining the impacts of the rotational motion of the pendulum which can generate mesmerizing art on blank mahjong papers. The outcome of the art has been influenced by various factors, such as the viscosity of the paint used, the flowrate of the paint drip, the velocity of the paint-pendulum-modelled dripper, the position of the release point, and the motion of the dripper arising from the resultant force of multiple interacting forces. By showing the interconnections between pendulum motion, gravitational force, potential and kinetic energies, and the fundamentals of fluid dynamics, artistic abstract paintings can be created from the science of mechanics. Intertwining the arts and sciences that has been the main focus of this program can garner greater appreciation, even embraced, as it results in a significant effect on the development of both creative and critical thinking among the participants and committees

    Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) merupakan satu dasar kerajaan dalam menyeimbangkan keperluan asas tempat tinggal kepada rakyat yang tergolong dalam kategori B40 untuk memelihara hak kemanusiaan rakyat Malaysia agar menjalani kelangsungan kehidupan yang sejahtera. PPR sebagai Key Performance Indicator (KPI) oleh Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) untuk diberi fokus terhadap keberkesanan tahap kesejahteraan PPR. PPR menitikberatkan elemen kualiti kehidupan dan kesejahteraan sosial kepada penghuninya. Namun, wujud permasalahan mengaitkan isu kesejahteraan pembangunan komuniti PPR apabila ketidakcapaian kesejahteraan berlaku.
