    The Ingalls-Thomas Bijections

Given a finite acyclic quiver Q with path algebra kQ, Ingalls and Thomas have exhibited a bijection between the set of Morita equivalence classes of support-tilting modules and the set of thick subcategories of mod kQ and they have collected a large number of further bijections with these sets. We add some additional bijections and show that all these bijections hold for arbitrary hereditary artin algebras. The proofs presented here seem to be of interest also in the special case of the path algebra of a quiver.Comment: This is a modified version of an appendix which was written for the paper "The numbers of support-tilting modules for a Dynkin algebra" (see arXiv:1403.5827v1

Long-term exposure to xenoestrogens alters some brain monoamines and both serum thyroid hormones and cortisol levels in adult male rats

AbstractThe present study was designed to examine the effect of long-term treatment with the phytoestrogen soy isoflavone [(SIF); 43mg/kg body weight/day] and/or the plastics component bisphenol-A [(BPA); 3mg/kg body weight/day] on some monoamines in the forebrain and both serum thyroid hormones and cortisol levels of adult rats. Significant increases in serotonin (5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) level, and significant decreases in 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) level and 5-HIAA/5-HT ratio, were observed after treatment with SIF or BPA. Level of dopamine (DA) was increased in SIF-treated group and decreased in BPA-treated group. Activity of monoamine oxidase (MAO) was decreased in all treated groups. The level of serum thyroid hormones (fT3 and fT4) was increased after treatment with SIF and decreased after exposure to BPA, while cortisol level was increased in all treated groups. It may be concluded that long-term exposure to SIF or BPA disrupts monoamine levels in the forebrain of adult rats through alteration in the metabolic pathways of amines and disorders of thyroid hormones and cortisol levels

AbstractThe α-hydroxyphosphonate generated from dialkyl phosphites and 1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde derivative was, in situ, trapped by isothiocyanates, isocyanates or acetic anhydride to produce dialkyl phosphorylmethyl-carbamothioates, -carbamates and/or -methyl acetates in good yields. The reactions were carried out in tetrahydrofuran (THF) in one step at room temperature, using K2CO3 catalyst. Antimicrobial and antineoplastic activities of the synthesized compounds were estimated. The results showed that all new compounds cause moderate to good antibiotic activities. However, phosphorylmethylcarbamothioates exhibited the highest growth inhibition. Furthermore, selected nine new synthesized compounds were evaluated for anticancer activity against eight human tumor cell lines (MCF7, MDA-MB-435, BT-549, IGROVI, SK-OV-3, PX-3, PU-145, and HEPG2). The majority of these compounds revealed moderate to potent activity against MCF7, PU-145, and HEPG2. Among them, two of the phosphorylmethylcarbamothioates showed excellent broad spectrum of anticancer activity with IC50 values ranging from 16.6 to 26.9 and 17.2 to 36.9μmolL−1, respectively (for 5-fluorouracil IC50: 17.7 to 38.8μmolL−1). Phosphorylmethyl methylcarbamothioate, in particular was more potent than 5-fluorouracil against all tested human carcinoma cell lines

Standards Affecting Increasing the Resistance of Laboratory Clothing Fabrics to Chemicals

    Get PDF
This study focuses on identifying the criteria that affect the harm and danger laboratory workers and students face from chemical reactions and combustion resulting from mixing chemicals. The study investigates the impact of fabric type, weave structure, and weft density on the resistance of laboratory clothing fabrics to chemicals. Laboratory tests were conducted to produce textile products that meet resistance specifications. The study found that the processing method used had a significant effect on improving the properties of ignition resistance and resistance to fluid permeability within the fabrics. The study used an experimental descriptive approach and statistical analysis with the SPSS program to process the data
