Hemangioma of the interatrial septum: CT and MRI features
Hemangioma of the heart is a rare primary benign tumor mainly appearing as enhancing, homogenous, well-circumscribed mass. We report a case of a 61-year-old asymptomatic woman, whose echocardiography showed a cardiac mass, which was described as the atypical myxoma of the right atrium. For further imaging, contrast-enhanced computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging were undertaken, which showed a tumor located in the interatrial septum with imaging characteristics of hemangioma. In the literature, cardiac hemangioma is usually described as an intensely enhancing mass. In our opinion, early peripheral puddling of contrast material with filling in on delayed images is a typical pattern of its enhancement. This characteristic, in addition to high signal intensity on T2-weighted images, allows differentiation of a hemangioma from other benign and malignant tumors
Cruise Ships Routing in Central Part of the Adriatic East Coast
Strong expansion of cruise ships traffic and cruising destinations in the Adriatic makes the region ideal for cruise ships routing analysis. The aim of this paper is to detect real cruise ships traffic movement in order to understand how present cruise ships routes are navigationally and environmentally sustainable and safe. Cruise ships characteristic operational demand and navigational routine in relation with regions indented coast line with high level of environmentally preserved areas in landscape of high national value, emphasise importance of real cruise ships routing awareness. The research is based on one year cruise ships traffic monitoring and routes analysis in the Central Adriatic East coast. The results offer detail insight of cruise ships navigational routines in navigationally less defined area that has not been frequent cruising region before. Cruise ships routes comparison is carried out between North Adriatic region, which is well defined with traffic separation schemes and navigational aids and less defined Central and South Adriatic regions. The results show that principle of cruise ships routing differ from standard maritime practice and that operational demand for attractive cruising and passenger experience bring cruise ships close to shores in various demanding navigational situations. That routing practice does not meet criteria of sustainability as it often present high navigational, safety and environmental risk
Exploring Users' Eye Movements When Using Projection-based Assembly Assistive Systems
Projection-based assistive systems have shown to be a promising technology to support workers during manual assembly processes in industrial manufacturing by projecting instructions into the working area. While existing studies have investigated various aspects of these systems, little research has been conducted regarding the way in which the user accesses the provided instructions. In this paper we analyze the eye movements of users during the repeated execution of an assembly task at a projection-based assistive system in order to gain insights into the utilization of the presented instructions. For this purpose, we analyzed eye tracking recordings from a user study with 15 participants to investigate the sequences in which the respective instructions are observed by the users. The results show a significantly lower number of nonlinear gaze sequences as well as a significantly higher number of steps without observing the instructions during the repeated use of the assistive system. In addition, there was a significantly lower task completion time during repeated use of the assistive system
Guidance on potential exclusion of certain WFD priority substances from MSFD monitoring beyond coastal and territorial waters
According to Commission Decision (EU) 2017/848 under the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), EU Member States (MS) shall consider, in their Descriptor 8 primary criterion (D8C1) assessments, the WFD Priority Substances (PS) and River Basin Specific Pollutants (RBSP) within coastal and territorial waters and also beyond territorial waters if these still may give rise to pollution effects. Some WFD PS might not be relevant for the marine environment in the open sea and, consequently, might be excluded from MSFD monitoring beyond the territorial waters. MS have expressed the need for a framework for the deselection of WFD PS from monitoring under the MSFD, in order to save resources. The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), collaborating within the MSFD Expert Network on Contaminants, has developed a pragmatic approach to identify the WFD PS that can be excluded from MSFD monitoring in the open sea beyond territorial waters without reducing protection of European Seas. This should preempt the need for individual MS to provide rationales for such exclusions, support comparable monitoring and assessments across national boundaries, and enable MS to focus their monitoring efforts on other (including emerging) substances that require attention
